"Two hundred million."
A cold, clear voice echoed from the corner VIP room.
Two hundred million...
The price jumped straight from one hundred and fifty million to two hundred million—skipping fifty million at once!
This kind of price hike made both Damon Wang and the elder in Summer Jay's room narrow their eyes and turn to look in that direction.
As they looked over, that cold voice sounded again.
"This divine medicine has already been chosen by Medicine King Valley. If anyone here is dissatisfied, feel free to keep bidding."
Medicine King Valley!
The moment those three words appeared, everyone present was visibly shaken.
Warren Wu even trembled all over for a moment, his wrinkled face twisting sharply.
"Medicine King Valley actually showed up? No wonder! With their resources, they could buy out the entire auction if they wanted to." Down below, someone gasped in awe, unable to help but sigh.
"Medicine King Valley is famous for their medical skills. Every year, countless big shots come begging for their medicine, so of course they're loaded." An old man in the guest seats shook his head repeatedly. Just hearing those three words was like adding a heavyweight to the scale.
Sure enough, as soon as those words were spoken, even Damon Wang fell silent and stopped bidding.
"Two hundred million, once."
The auctioneer's voice was already trembling.
With two hundred million on the table, just the commission alone would net him several million!
No wonder the auctioneer couldn't help but feel excited.
"Two hundred million, twice!"
"Two hundred million, three times—sold!"
The auctioneer brought down the hammer, officially ending this auction.
Time to clear out.
As Evan Lin and Summer Mu stepped out, they happened to run into Rachel Liu and the others nearby.
The way Rachel Liu and her friends looked at Evan had already changed a bit.
Just then, a man in a black suit walked over, smiled at Evan, and said, "Sir, your auction item is ready. Based on your bid, that's two million total. Will you be paying by card or cash?"
"Two million? Like he could cough up that kind of money! Look at his clothes—he's obviously just here for the spectacle, not a real bidder!" Simon Zuo snorted the moment he heard this, unable to hold back his laughter.
Julia Du and the others just stared at Evan, saying nothing.
"Two million's no small sum," Megan Liu muttered.
"Summer's friend can definitely pay two million. Simon, you're really looking down on people!" Keaton Wang said loudly, staring at Simon Zuo.
He'd never liked guys who just looked like straight-A students, and seeing Megan Liu seem to have a good impression of Simon Zuo only made Keaton Wang more annoyed. So he took the chance to roast Simon.
"Who are you calling a dog?" Simon Zuo's face changed.
Keaton Wang just grinned and said nothing.
"I'll handle it," Summer Mu said, reaching for his pocket.
"See? Broke is broke. In the end, isn't it just the Summer family prince wiping your ass for you?" Simon Zuo was annoyed by Keaton Wang's words, but since Keaton had the Wang family backing, he didn't dare go head-to-head. Seeing Summer Mu reach for his wallet, Simon looked even more contemptuous.
"No need. Just swipe this." Evan Lin shook his head and handed over a bank card.
When Evan pulled out his card, not only did Simon Zuo feel a bit choked, but even Rachel Liu and Summer Mu were stunned.
Summer Mu didn't know much about Evan's family, but Rachel Liu knew very well.
After all these years at school, Evan Lin had always looked dirt poor. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been looked down on by so many people, and since he came from a small county, everyone called him a country bumpkin.
Seeing Evan actually pull out a bank card, Rachel Liu was a bit dazed. Had he been keeping a low profile all these years on purpose?
It just didn't make sense.
If that was really the case, Evan's mental composure must be on another level—even most adults couldn't compare.
"Maybe that card doesn't even have any money on it..."
Simon Zuo's voice was much quieter now.
The man in the black suit smiled, took Evan's card, swiped it on the POS machine, printed out the receipt, then respectfully handed Evan a box.
"Transaction successful. Please accept your auction item."
Evan took the box, opened it, and glanced inside. Up close, the thing looked even uglier—pitch black, its surface dried out and charred like burnt wood.
Simon Zuo, still smarting, stepped forward and couldn't help sneering: "Look at that ugly black thing—anyone can see it's useless, and you spent two million on it? You must have a screw loose."
"Something like that probably spent years buried in a grave, rotting away. What, you planning to eat it?" Simon snorted coldly.
Evan raised an eyebrow and glanced at Simon.
"Noisy."
Before Simon could react, Evan's words had barely faded when a burning pain suddenly exploded across Simon's face.
With one slap from Evan, Simon's head whipped to the side, and five red finger marks instantly appeared on his cheek.
Simon stared in shock, clutching his face. He pointed at Evan and stammered, "You... you actually hit me!"
Bang!
Just as Simon finished speaking, Evan spun and swept his leg, kicking Simon clear across the room.
Simon flew through the air, crashed through the door into the next room, and landed hard on a table.
"I don't like people pointing at me. Say one more word and I'll throw you downstairs myself."
Evan's eyes were icy as he looked at Simon.
'Downstairs' obviously meant straight out the third-floor window.
Simon's face went pale, then green, but he finally kept his mouth shut.
"Why did you hit him? Sure, he talks too much, but isn't that a bit much?" Rachel Liu frowned, her face cold after seeing Simon get slapped and kicked.
Evan glanced at her, his tone flat: "I appreciate you telling me where Qingxi Street was before, but sorry, me beating him up has nothing to do with you."
"I even dared to beat up Huang Longji. What makes him think he can mouth off to me?"
