Making a Fuss

Su Li was drinking porridge when she looked up and saw Yuanbao looking at her with a wronged expression, his mouth pouting like he could hang two oil bottles from it.

“Yuanbao, what's wrong?” Su Li pulled Xiao Zetian to sit down.

Xiao Zetian looked at her pitifully: “Wife, can you not go to the Serenity Vegetarian Bistro?”

“Huh, didn’t we already talk about this earlier?” Su Li smiled and shook her head.

Xiao Zetian sighed. He understood the reasoning, but... he just didn’t want her to go!

Su Li looked at Yuanbao’s unhappy face, a little puzzled, and asked, “Yuanbao, why don’t you want me to go to the Serenity Vegetarian Bistro?”

“I want to stay with you, I can’t bear to see you leave.” Xiao Zetian shamelessly pulled out his secret weapon—acting cute.

Su Li really fell for it and burst out laughing, pinching Xiao Zetian’s cheek: “Good Yuanbao, since you can’t bear to be without me, then come with me to the Serenity Vegetarian Bistro. You can help me peel carrots and chop vegetables.”

Going together to the Serenity Vegetarian Bistro was out of the question. Besides Prince Ling, there were infiltrations from various powers in Qingmiao City. If Xiao Zetian’s whereabouts were exposed and the emperor found out he was still alive, an imperial marriage decree would be issued. Although there were ways to resist the decree, it would come at a terrible cost and implicate the Marquis Wei Yuan’s household. So unless absolutely necessary, Xiao Zetian didn’t want to openly defy the decree.

“Yuanbao, you don’t want to go to the Serenity Vegetarian Bistro, but you want me to stay with you. I can’t split myself in two, you know?” Su Li’s expression wasn’t as happy as before; she seemed a little upset.

Xiao Zetian knew that in Su Li’s eyes, he was just being unreasonable and causing a fuss.

And Su Li was a woman with a strong will; unless Xiao Zetian could give a very convincing reason to stop her from going to the Serenity Vegetarian Bistro, she would definitely go.

Seeing that he couldn’t stop her, Xiao Zetian had no choice but to personally see Su Li off as she got into the carriage.

Xiao Zetian and Xiao Yun watched the carriage leave. Xiao Yun sighed looking at his worried master: “I hope Prince Ling is just whimsically wanting to try new dishes, and after he gets to eat at the Serenity Vegetarian Bistro, he’ll quickly return to the capital.”

Su Li sat in the carriage with her four disciples. For some reason, she felt each of them seemed to have their own worries, carrying a somewhat anxious air.

But Su Li didn’t want to ask directly, so she sat quietly, thinking about the dishes for today.

Lingdang glanced at Su Li, feeling bitter inside. General Xiao had given them a strict order to quickly learn the skills to take over from Su Li so she wouldn’t have to cook at the Serenity Vegetarian Bistro herself anymore.

At that time, Lingdang wanted to kneel before General Xiao and shout, “Lingdang can’t do it!”

Before coming here, Lingdang was confident, thinking, "It’s just cooking, what’s so hard? I learned martial arts at a young age and became a top female assassin; cooking won’t be a challenge."

But after truly starting to learn cooking from Su Li, Lingdang realized it was much deeper than she thought, with so much knowledge. Without ten years of practice, she couldn’t grasp the essence of Su Li’s skills.

Her young master’s culinary skills were so advanced, it was beyond Lingdang’s comprehension.

So these four disciples were forced with an impossible task, each feeling uneasy, unsure how to explain to their master when the deadline came.

Lingdang was resting her chin on her hand, worried, when suddenly Su Li exclaimed and opened her eyes wide, staring out the carriage window as if she saw something as rare as the sun rising in the west.

Lingdang curiously asked, “Master, what did you see that’s so rare?”
