Fame Achieved

There were even fewer cultivators on the fifty-first floor than on the fiftieth, but Joe Di paid it no mind and continued to comprehend the fundamental laws.

The fifty-second floor, the fifty-third floor...

Joe Di ascended floor by floor, and soon his name became known throughout the Fivefold Dao Tower. Nearly every cultivator who witnessed his ascent would remember him.

This cultivator never spent more than a day on any given floor before moving to the next. It seemed as though he was here to challenge the number of floors in the Fivefold Dao Tower, not for cultivation.

When Joe Di reached the fifty-fifth floor, he encountered a familiar face—Hugh Feather. Hugh Feather was the senior disciple of Green Sect. A few months ago, when Joe Di saw him, he was only at the seventh layer of the Void Ascendant stage, but now he was clearly at the eighth.

As soon as Joe Di entered, most of the cultivators on this floor opened their eyes to glance at him, then promptly closed them again to continue comprehending their own Dao arts or focus on their cultivation.

Hugh Feather also opened his eyes. When he saw that it was Joe Di, he spoke in disbelief, "Daoist Di, you actually made it to the fifty-fifth floor?"

Don't be fooled by his previous climb to the sixtieth floor—it was by no means an easy feat. Every floor demanded a tremendous amount of energy, and one had to cultivate and ascend step by step. This time, after advancing a minor realm in the Fivefold Dao Tower, his goal was the sixty-sixth floor.

Now, seeing Joe Di—whom he had never taken seriously—also reach the fifty-fifth floor, he couldn't help but be astonished.

Then he thought of the potential benefits ahead and immediately became excited.

Although there were quite a few people above the forty-ninth floor, once distributed among the various sects, the numbers weren't that impressive. Take his own Green Sect, for example: besides himself, who could reach above the sixtieth floor, the strongest junior brother could only make it to the forty-seventh or forty-eighth. If you didn't reach the forty-ninth floor, it didn't count for anything.

What if Joe Di joined their Green Sect? The sect's status would immediately rise a notch, and its resources would increase significantly.

"Daoist Di, after you leave the Fivefold Dao Tower, do you plan to join our Green Sect?" Hugh Feather was clearly not skilled at conversation; his words were stiff and awkward.

Joe Di had never planned to stay long in the Minor Central World. After two months in the Fivefold Dao Tower, he was about to reach the seventh level of the Nascent Soul stage. At his current cultivation pace, he should be close to entering the Void Ascendant realm once he left the tower. Once he reached the Void Ascendant, he could challenge the Sea List powerhouses and return to Yalen Continent.

"Thank you, Senior Brother Hugh Feather. As for joining a sect, let's talk about it after I leave." Joe Di had intended to refuse outright, but quickly realized why Hugh Feather was so excited—it was because Joe Di had reached the fifty-fifth floor and possessed Fivefold Tower Points. He wasn't sure if these points were useful to him personally, but he knew they were invaluable to a sect.

"Right, right, we'll discuss it after leaving the Dao Tower," Hugh Feather replied hurriedly.

Joe Di paid it no mind and continued to comprehend the foundational law of the fifty-fifth floor.

In just two hours, Joe Di grasped the fifty-fifth foundational law and stepped onto the fifty-sixth floor.

Seeing Joe Di enter the fifty-sixth floor, Hugh Feather grew even more enthusiastic. Although Guy Tian was known for befriending anyone, this time he had truly made a powerful friend.

The fifty-sixth floor was much like the fifty-fifth, except the tempering of divine sense was stronger and the spiritual energy denser. As for the pressure, having mastered the fifty-five foundational laws, it hardly affected Joe Di at all.

The fifty-seventh, fifty-eighth...

When Joe Di stepped onto the sixtieth floor, his cultivation also reached the seventh level of the Nascent Soul stage.

For Joe Di, cultivation was now secondary; what mattered most was comprehending the foundational law of each floor in the Fivefold Dao Tower.

The higher he went, the fewer people there were.

When Joe Di reached the sixty-fourth floor, he immediately sensed something entirely different from the previous floors. Not only was the area smaller, but there were also eighteen fire circles on the sixty-fourth floor. Seventeen of these circles were already occupied, leaving only one vacant.

As Joe Di extended his divine sense inside, a wave of scorching heat instantly permeated his body. Even before he began cultivating, he could vaguely sense that his physical body had grown stronger.

Is this the Body Tempering Floor?

Joe Di quickly confirmed it—this was indeed for body tempering. Cultivating here was far superior to training in a natural environment outside; not only were the laws clear, but he could also clearly understand how to enhance the level of his physical body.

He had regretted missing out on Flamecrest back in Skyveil, but now that he had reached the Body Tempering Floor, he unhesitatingly settled into the last available fire circle.

When Joe Di entered, the gazes of the other seventeen cultivators on the sixty-fourth floor all turned to him. They were surprised to see a face they had never seen before. It wasn't that strangers never made it to the sixty-fourth floor—just that after the sixtieth, unfamiliar faces were rare.

A stranger like Joe Di, who looked so young, was even rarer among the cultivators here.

Once Joe Di entered the fire circle, an overwhelming wave of scorching heat surged toward him. He began to circulate the Genesis Body Codex. After just one cycle, his physical strength started to increase. This was the first time he had ever encountered a body tempering place that didn't harm the body at all.

After several cycles, Joe Di comprehended the sixty-fourth foundational law.

......

While Joe Di was tempering his body on the sixty-fourth floor of the Fivefold Dao Tower, Fivefold Plaza was in an uproar.

An unknown newcomer had suddenly reached the sixty-fourth floor, ranking eighty-sixth.

Every time the Fivefold Dao Tower opens, those who make it into the top hundred are the elite of the elite, geniuses among geniuses. Anyone who enters the top hundred is either from the Potential List or the Dao Rankings.

Although the Fivefold Dao Gathering is only halfway through, and this ranking doesn't represent the final standings, to reach the sixty-fourth floor and rank eighty-sixth in less than five months is the mark of a top-tier genius.

At this moment, every sect and cultivation force was inquiring about the identity of Joe Di, the eighty-sixth ranked cultivator. Was he a genius sent by some hidden sect?

Vaughn Che and his companions, who were waiting at Fivefold Plaza for the Sea List's Five Young Masters, were overjoyed. They had never imagined Joe Di was so formidable, climbing to the sixty-fourth floor of the Fivefold Dao Tower.

"Brother Vaughn, I never expected Brother Joe to be so amazing, reaching the sixty-fourth floor. When I tried climbing the Fivefold Dao Tower, I couldn't get past the twenty-third floor," Liana Quing stared at Joe Di's name in disbelief.

Vaughn Che nodded, "Brother Joe's background must be extraordinary. It's fate that we've gotten to know him."

He was still reeling from the shock of Joe Di telling him that the Firegod Herb could refine divine sense, and now Joe Di had given him an even greater surprise.

"Brother Joe can't be very old. When the Fivefold Dao Gathering ends, his name will definitely appear on the Potential List published by Destiny Guild at Fivefold Plaza," Liana Quing said excitedly.

There are no special privileges for those on the Potential List in terms of teleportation, but its value is no less than the Dao Rankings, since everyone on it must be under two hundred years old.

While Vaughn Che and his friends were discussing Joe Di, the cultivators who had come out of Nightlake were even more excited. They hadn't expected the one who helped them, Joe Di, to be so powerful, able to reach the sixty-fourth floor of the Fivefold Dao Tower.

Hearing countless cultivators around them speculating about Joe Di's origins, one of the Nightlake survivors couldn't help but speak up: "Heh, if you don't know, don't make wild guesses. Red Tassel Joe isn't from a major sect—he's just a rogue cultivator."

"Red Tassel Joe? Who's that?"

"Red Tassel Joe is the one who climbed to the sixty-fourth floor of the Fivefold Dao Tower. He's younger than us, chivalrous and heroic, modest and reserved. He saved our lives, refused any reward, and didn't even want us to remember the favor. Honestly, I've met many young geniuses, but never anyone who moved me like Red Tassel Joe."

"Joe Di is Red Tassel Joe? How did he save you?"

Upon hearing this, a particularly eloquent Nightlake survivor quickly recounted Joe Di's heroic deeds.

"That's absolutely impossible! You say Joe Di was only at the third level of the Nascent Soul stage, yet he killed seven Nascent Soul experts with a single slash? Be reasonable. You're grateful to Red Tassel Joe for saving your life, but you shouldn't exaggerate." After hearing Joe Di's story, a Void Spirit Stage cultivator couldn't help but rebuke. As for the nickname Red Tassel Joe, it was tacitly accepted.

The Soul Ancestor Stage cultivator whom Joe Di had saved spoke up loudly, "I absolutely did not exaggerate. If you don't believe me, ask someone else. Red Tassel Joe's blade is that powerful. When he swung it, all I could sense was an overwhelming, boundless blade intent."

"You're a bit mistaken," another Nightlake survivor interjected.

"What do you mean, mistaken? You were saved by Red Tassel Joe too, so why disparage him?" The cultivator grew anxious—though Red Tassel Joe didn't want his name publicized, not being grateful was looked down upon.

The cultivator replied, "Don't misunderstand. Red Tassel Joe did kill seven Nascent Soul cultivators with one slash, but his greatest strength isn't his Red Tassel Blade—it's his advice."

"Exactly, Red Tassel Joe's advice is what truly stands out. Senior, even with your Void Spirit Stage cultivation, if Red Tassel Joe advises you..." The anxious cultivator quickly corrected himself, stopping mid-sentence, remembering he was speaking to a Void Spirit Stage expert and needed to be respectful.

He wasn't particularly afraid; as long as he was careful at Fivefold Plaza, no one would dare make a move against him. Once the Fivefold Dao Gathering ended, he'd become an inner disciple of the Five Grand Sects. Not even a Void Spirit Stage, let alone a Calamity Realm expert, would dare attack him lightly.

Red Tassel Joe's advice? What does that even mean? Most cultivators were completely baffled.

Word that Joe Di called himself 'Young Master' had already reached every major sect. Many began to suspect he was from a cultivation clan—only those from such families used that title.

If he's from a cultivation clan, that's even better—he can still join a sect. For the moment, Joe Di was the center of everyone's attention.

(That's all for today's update. Good night, friends!)
