Fivefold Serpent Hex

Yvonne Hu's face turned deathly pale. She stammered, "Th-then my mom and I will move out of that villa right away, we won't live there anymore. That should solve the problem, right?"

Shawn Young sneered, "Yvonne, you're thinking too simply. Since it's a deadly curse, whoever set up the formation would have considered the possibility of you moving away. This is an elaborate, interconnected feng shui trap. The scariest part of this evil formation is—even if you and your mother hide at the ends of the earth, if you don't break the curse, it won't help at all!"

"Ah!! So what should I do now? Can you help me, please?" Yvonne Hu cried out, her pretty face drained of color. The reason was simple—everything Shawn Young said was exactly what had happened to her and her mother recently. Hearing how terrifying the consequences could be, Yvonne couldn't help but panic and immediately begged Shawn for help.

"Uh—Shawn, since you know what's been happening to Yvonne's family, you must know how to fix it, right? Please help her! Do it for me, Yvonne is my best friend—" Lilian Grace chimed in, also sensing how serious things were.

"Well—I can try, but—" Shawn Young hesitated for a moment. This was his first time dealing with something like this, so he didn't feel very confident.

"As long as you can keep my mom and me safe, you—you can ask for any reward you want!" Yvonne Hu thought Shawn was after money, since she knew hiring someone for rituals usually came with a price.

Shawn Young quickly waved his hands and said, "It's not about money. What I want to tell you is—the person trying to harm your family is extremely vicious and cunning to set up such a deadly trap. And to be honest, I've never faced a situation like this before, so I'm not very confident! Most importantly, if we're not careful and alert the snake, the villain hiding in the shadows could activate the evil formation with dark magic, and that would be a disaster!"

"Ah! I believe you can solve it, right? Shawn, please help me! I—I'm begging you, whatever you want, I'll cooperate!" Yvonne Hu was already treating Shawn Young as her last hope.

"Shawn, you can do it! I believe in you! Please, be merciful and help Yvonne! She and her mom rely on each other, it's not easy for them." Lilian Grace added, backing her up.

Shawn Young lowered his head and thought for a moment, then looked up at Yvonne Hu and said, "Alright! But let me be clear—I’ll do my best to help you, but you must cooperate fully, especially this: besides your mom, it’s best if no one else in your family knows about this. Can you do that?"

"Okay! However you need me to cooperate, I’ll do it!" As soon as Yvonne Hu heard Shawn Young agree, she felt as if she finally had something to rely on, a sense of relief settling in her heart.

"Good. Now, the person hiding in the shadows is probably very familiar with you and your mom—otherwise they wouldn’t have had the chance to set up such a sinister trap. To avoid arousing suspicion, since today’s the weekend, Lilian and I will go with you to your new villa as classmates and friends to check things out. Also, call your mom home right away, I have something to discuss with both of you." Shawn Young said after thinking it over.

Yvonne Hu replied, "No need to call her. Last week my mom fell on the stairs and hurt her knee, so she’s been resting at home these days. My second uncle is handling things at the company for now. I’ll call the family driver to pick us up."

As she spoke, Yvonne Hu took out her phone and dialed a number, telling the driver to pick her up at school. Then she said, "Let’s go, we’ll head to the back gate. The car will be here soon."

So Shawn Young and Lilian Grace followed Yvonne Hu toward the back gate of Southern University. Luckily, it was already getting dark, otherwise if people saw Shawn walking with the two campus queens, their fan clubs would probably glare him into oblivion.

The girls’ dorm was close to the back gate, so in just a few minutes, the three of them were outside. In the distance, a black Mercedes 5 sedan pulled up and stopped in front of them. A middle-aged driver in a uniform got out. Yvonne nodded to him, then pointed at Shawn Young and said, "Uncle Zhang, this is Lilian and her friend, also my—my classmate. They’re coming home with us for dinner today."

"Oh! Got it, Miss! Please, Miss Lilian and this gentleman, get in the car!" Uncle Zhang, the middle-aged driver, looked at Shawn Young with a hint of surprise before respectfully opening the door for them. He got in too, and the car slowly left Southern University, merging into the main street traffic.

They drove through several streets for half an hour, eventually turning onto a quiet road lined with luxury villas. Shawn Young recognized this area as the most famous wealthy neighborhood in Nanming City, said to have the best feng shui in town. Many rich people bought land and built villas here, and some top real estate companies invested in villa communities too—in short, everyone living here was either rich or powerful!

The Mercedes 5 drove to the end of a secluded tree-lined avenue, where the view suddenly opened up. Ahead was a spacious parking lot, behind which stood a circle of European-style white fences. The long fences were artfully hidden among the greenery, and right in front was a grand gate flanked by two towering locust trees, making the entrance look elegant and serene. Surveillance equipment was everywhere at the gates and exits. The car finally stopped outside a dedicated garage, and everyone got out while Uncle Zhang drove the car into the garage.

Shawn Young looked up and saw a sprawling, grand, and ultra-modern complex. In front of the main building was a huge fountain and a central flowerbed bursting with blooms. Exotic flowers, evergreens, and rare plants filled the grounds, and the architecture was so refined—even the houses, doors, windows, and little fences seemed to blend perfectly with nature. Shawn almost thought it was a five-star hotel.

"Come on! My mom’s inside, let’s go talk to her—" Yvonne Hu said as she pulled out her electronic card.

"Wait, not so fast—let me check the surroundings first," Shawn Young quickly sensed something was off.

He felt a bone-chilling, sinister aura swirling all around, shrouding the villa complex. He immediately summoned his spiritual energy, focusing his gaze on the villa's layout and the imposing front gate, then carefully scanned the two towering locust trees by the entrance.

Sure enough, Shawn Young saw a fierce black aura shooting into the sky from the gate, spreading throughout the villa complex. Even stranger—the east, south, west, north, and central areas of the complex all emitted a grayish aura. The black and gray energies twisted together, forming a hideous shape that enveloped the entire place!

"Oh! This is the Fivefold Serpent Hex! It’s a vicious and domineering feng shui curse! Looks like someone really wants to wipe out you and your mom—how ruthless!" Shawn Young finally figured it out, and said seriously in a low voice to Yvonne Hu.

"Ah! Really? So, what should we do now?" Yvonne Hu asked nervously.

"Just act natural, like you always do. For now, I don’t know if the person hiding in the shadows is watching us, so let’s not give ourselves away! I’ll handle it, you just lead us inside," Shawn Young said calmly.

"Okay!" Seeing how confident Shawn Young looked, Yvonne Hu felt much more at ease. She swiped her electronic card and led Shawn Young and Lilian Grace inside.
