Earth Soul Versus Human Soul of the Wraithlord

12/15/2025

I stared quietly at the Human Soul of the Wraithlord. Through Ethan Zhang's memories, I roughly understood that when we were underwater before, this Human Soul had no power at all—so weak it was just a lingering remnant.

But now, the Human Soul of the Wraithlord before me has completely changed. Its body is no longer in the frail state it was underwater; instead, it has become far more substantial. I suspect similar changes have occurred with the Wraithlord’s Earth Soul and Heaven Soul—just as Diting mentioned, these are the three main issues.

Among the Wraithlord's Three Souls, the Earth Soul is the strongest, while the Human Soul should be the weakest. After all, the Wraithlord is already a ghost, and the Human Soul merely represents his existence as a human. Thus, the Human Soul’s power shouldn’t pose any threat, which is why it could be completely sealed away in this world of lingering desires.

Ultimately, for humans, desire is something that can never truly be overcome. Although the Human Soul of the Wraithlord before me shows no obvious changes, I feel no trace of power from him—not even in the hand pressed against my chest. There’s not a shred of strength.

Suddenly, the Human Soul of the Wraithlord withdrew his hand and burst out laughing, shaking his head repeatedly.

"Young man, what are you doing here?"

The Wraithlord suddenly spoke, his expression much kinder. I found this abrupt shift puzzling. Just moments ago, his eerie smile radiated an evil aura, but now that wickedness seemed to have vanished.

"I'm here to find someone."

"Who?"

I replied with a smile.

"I don't even know if he's still here—maybe by that lakeside. Old Sir, do you know how to get to the lakeside?"

The Human Soul of the Wraithlord pressed his forehead for a while, then spoke with renewed enthusiasm.

"Of course I know! There is definitely a lake over there. I'll take you, young man."

With those words, the Human Soul of the Wraithlord suddenly floated up and began to move. I reacted in a split second and followed, as the Wraithlord turned to look back at me.

"You're pretty quick, young man."

"Old Sir, you're the quick one. By the way, what are you doing here all alone?"

The Wraithlord looked puzzled for a moment before replying.

"I'm searching for a way out."

My expression instantly turned serious, a blue haze settling over my face. The Wraithlord glanced at the large pit behind him and spoke.

"I thought I could get out through that big pit, but after falling down, months passed and I never reached the bottom. Eventually, I could only come back up and wander here. Young man, you seem to be from the outside—do you know the way out?"
