High Above the Sky

Evan Lin spoke in a calm tone, his face carrying a faint, relaxed smile as he talked.

But that trace of a smile, when seen by Harvey Li on the other side, made his heart tremble and filled him with an inexplicable sense of fear.

It was as if everything this teenager said was actually true.

He really did bring a woman with him to the Ancient Martial Rowe clan, and then, from inside to out, swept through the entire Rowe clan.

Inside the aircraft, the atmosphere suddenly became silent.

Yvette Ye kept quiet. She knew about Evan Lin's past entanglements with the Ancient Martial Rowe clan, but she wasn’t sure whether Master Lin from Seacrest had ever stormed the Rowe estate to demand an explanation.

That incident happened within the Rowe clan itself. Aside from Daniel Ward and a few others present that day, plus the Rowe clan members, it was hard for anyone else to know about it.

And to protect their reputation, the Rowe clan certainly wouldn’t be foolish enough to announce the incident to the world.

The other Ancient Martial Clans only caught a whiff of rumors—supposedly, a teenager had entered the Rowe clan and then left, and that was all.

As for everything else that happened in between, no one really knew.

Evan Lin shook his head, speaking in a cool, almost chilling tone: "You’re talking too much. If you want to reach the destination safely instead of getting tossed out of this helicopter halfway, you’d better learn to shut up."

So from now on, I don’t want to hear a single word or even a syllable from you. If you can’t manage that, I’ll throw you out right here.

Got it?

Evan’s smile stayed the same—calm, faint, and from start to finish completely emotionless.

Listening to Evan’s words, Harvey Li clenched his fists hard, his face shifting between anger and gloom. He stared at Evan, as if trying to burn the boy’s image into his mind.

But Harvey Li, who’d been so brash since the moment they met, now didn’t dare say a single word—not even a syllable.

The roar of the helicopter blades still thundered in their ears as the aircraft cut through the sky.

Harvey Li stared silently at Evan Lin, but in this contest of aura, it was pointless—Harvey lost completely.

Jenna Jiang, who’d been quietly watching the whole time, saw Harvey Li get his arrogance wiped out by just a few words from Evan. Not only was he silenced, he was forced to sit there meekly—and Jenna was totally shocked.

Jenna Jiang had known Harvey Li for ages; she knew his pride and his strength were both top-notch, making him a standout among their peers.
