Debate Over the Hexagram Formation

Chapter 1495

Advancing from the Blighted Domain toward the territory claimed by Northend, the heart of the battlefield soon came into view. The sea of fire had mostly dissipated, its width reduced by more than ninety percent, and fractures had appeared in several places. At these breaks, the Northend coalition was locked in combat with the undead.

Compared to before, the scale of the conflict was now little more than a series of small skirmishes. Legions of undead surged through gaps in the fire, only to be fiercely repelled. Many more, drawn too close to the inferno, were unable to withstand the heat and burst into flames, their bodies reduced to ash.

Finding a spot where the flames still raged, Leon reverted to human form and summoned his elemental avatar, plunging into the fire and charging toward the human lines.

This passage, thousands of kilometers wide, was known as the Blighted Domain to the undead, while humans called it the Blighted Plains. The two spaces overlapped here, nearly fused into one.

As soon as he crossed the fire, gentle holy light began to rain from the sky. For humans, this light was harmless; but to the undead, it was more terrifying than the flames themselves. No undead could hope to sneak through under such radiance.

Among the undead, many possessed the ability to turn invisible, but here... forget it.

Leon looked up. Floating in the sky were crystal spheres, each glowing like a miniature sun. Every few dozen kilometers, one of these spheres radiated gentle holy light, forming a barrier across the front.

On this side of the fire, several dozen kilometers away, rows of war fortresses had been erected—each constructed to fit the requirements of the Hexagram Formation. These fortresses were not only bulwarks against the undead, but also crucial nodes for the Hexagram Formation itself.

Not far away, more fortresses were rising at astonishing speed. Magic and alchemical constructs joined the effort, accelerating construction to an unbelievable pace—a single fortress could be completed in just a week, and if only the main structure was considered, three days would suffice.
