Slaying a Great Saint, Invincible in the Southriver Region

1/5/2026

"What the hell?" At that moment, Murong the Immortal-Slayer was visibly startled to see Ryan Ling’s figure suddenly shift. By all logic, a full-powered Great Saint strike should have killed Ryan Ling with zero chance of reversal.

But now, Ryan’s body actually moved—proof he wasn’t dead. This was way beyond anything Murong had expected.

"Even if you’re lucky enough to survive that, you’re dead for sure today!" Murong gritted his teeth, instantly unleashing another full-powered Great Saint blast—this one even stronger than before. His killing intent peaked, and he fired off five consecutive slashes in a flash.

Five slashes in a row—heaven and earth changed color. Everyone watching felt their scalp go numb!

That kind of power was basically a mid-sized nuclear explosion—enough to wipe out all of Qianzhou City.

The clash between these top-tier fighters was totally beyond what anyone could imagine!

"He’s gotta be dead for real this time, right?" The Su Province crowd’s eyes nearly popped out, every one of them grinding their teeth and wishing Ryan Ling would just die already.

On the other side, Gabriel Xue and his crew were totally speechless. Facing the Saint King’s insane five-slash combo, and without Guihai One-Blade’s help, there was no way Ryan could hold out.

But just as half the crowd was celebrating and the other half was in despair, a figure slowly walked out from the blazing ‘nuclear’ blast. He was wreathed in flames, pill energy blazing from his crown, five-colored light surging from his chest and belly—he looked like a god descending to earth. His furious eyes locked straight onto Murong the Immortal-Slayer.

"It’s the boss—it’s him, he’s not dead, he’s alive!" Harvey ‘Million’ Jin was the first to scream, and in a flash, the rest of the crew exploded with joy.

On the other side, a bunch of Su Province guys started rubbing their eyes like crazy. To them, this scene was straight out of a dream—almost everyone thought they were seeing things, and even Murong stared for ages in disbelief.

"The so-called strongest five-slash combo of a Great Saint? Looks pretty meh to me!" Ryan gave a faint smile, his face shadowy and dark. His eyes were sharp and fierce, like a hawk or a tiger, practically ready to tear Murong apart.

"How is this possible? This is totally impossible!" Murong was freaked out by that glare, but what really stunned him was Ryan’s surging power and bizarre new aura. It was like those slashes had completely remade Ryan—he was now mysterious and unfathomable.

"Murong, you can’t kill me—now it’s my turn to kill you!" Ryan didn’t hesitate for a second; he shot forward like a spring, moving insanely fast, and in mid-air perfectly copied Murong’s five-slash combo!

Murong instinctively staggered backward, clearly unable to believe what he was seeing.

But this was the true ‘change’ of Transforming Core—Ryan had fully grasped it. Of course he could morph Murong’s killing move. In a blink, five explosions rang out overhead; Murong’s body erupted with thick smoke in five places, and he spat blood, stumbling backward even harder.

"Trying to run? Die!" Ryan didn’t let up for a second. In a flash, he unleashed all ten slashes of the Infernal Madblade Style. Now that he’d hit Transforming Core, the Madblade’s killing power had skyrocketed—Immortal techniques scale with your own strength, so the stronger you are, the deadlier your arts. The two boost each other.

Boom boom boom boom boom! The explosions went wild again.

Murong took a truly devastating hit—his whole body blew apart in chunks. Just moments ago he’d been an unstoppable Great Saint, but now he was a total wreck, his flesh and blood a shredded mess!

"Hell yeah! Brother Ryan went for the kill—what are we waiting for? Surround everybody here! These Han traitors—kill them all, no mercy!" Seeing Ryan’s insane counterattack, Gabriel Xue and the Jinling Military Region couldn’t hold back any longer. Instantly, all their guns turned on Su Province’s crowd.

In a flash, gunfire and artillery erupted. Gabriel Xue, Harvey Jin, Jason Lin, Warren Yuan, Frank Qin, and the others charged to the front, their battle cries reaching a fever pitch. All the swagger Jinling Military Region had lost—they got it back in an instant.

"Spare us! Spare us! Let’s talk!" Most of the Su Province crowd weren’t that strong—they couldn’t handle a full-on assault, so they started screaming for mercy.

"Spare you? Screw that—die!" Gabriel and the others weren’t about to go soft. He’d always hated the Japanese invaders, but he hated these traitors who sold out their ancestors and sided with Japan even more.

In a flash, over a hundred heads rolled. Gabriel’s crew was totally crushing it—screams echoed everywhere.

"Leave none alive—kill all the men, rape all the women!" Fatty Harvey Jin roared like a madman, venting all his pent-up frustration.

The mighty Jinling Military Region—the military brain of Jiangnan—had almost been wiped out by a mere provincial force. If they didn’t vent now, they’d suffocate!

While the ground battle raged, Ryan Ling didn’t hesitate overhead. He didn’t want to drag out the fight with Murong—now that he’d broken with the World Dominion Society, he was ready to go big. Beheading a Great Saint would make anyone think twice about messing with him.

Killing a few Minor Saints or Middle Saints might not make the Society take him seriously, but if he could take down a Great Saint solo, they’d have to treat him as a major threat.

Plus, Ryan had more than just Guihai One-Blade backing him—he had the Divine Dragon, and even Lord Yama, his own dad. With all that support, even if Guihai ran into trouble, Ryan wasn’t about to lose his cool.

"Murong, from now on I’m not giving you a single chance to breathe—I want you dead!" Ryan locked his gaze on Murong, killing intent surging in his eyes.

But right then, Murong—who looked half dead—suddenly exploded with Great Saint radiance. Light blazed behind him, bathing him in holy glow and making him look almost divine.

"Ryan, you’ve pushed Murong to the edge—this is a Great Saint’s ultimate move! He’s igniting his Saint Light for a do-or-die showdown!" Inside Ryan, the Ghost Elder shouted when he saw it.

"No matter how strong Saint Light is, can it match my five-colored Transforming Core?" Ryan smiled faintly. Back when he was just Nourishing Core, he’d have been scared for sure—but now, with Transforming Core, his five-colored brilliance totally outshined Saint Light.

Murong obviously had no clue about Ryan’s true strength. He roared, pouring every ounce of Saint Light out of his body, until it condensed in midair as an unstoppable radiant phantom sword.

The sword’s blade was blinding, covered in chanting holy words.

"Kill! Judgment Sword—cut down this demon! Anyone who insults a Great Saint dies!" Murong screamed. The radiant sword tore through the air, aiming straight for Ryan’s chest.

"Judgment Sword? Murong really is an old-school Great Saint—he actually forged a Judgment Sword. That thing could probably slaughter ten Great Saints at once!"

"Old Yuan, what do you mean? Can the boss block it or not? Say something!"

"I don’t know either. All I know is Murong’s betting his life—he’d rather die than let the boss win!"

Seeing the Judgment Sword appear, Warren Yuan and the others who knew its power turned pale.

All eyes locked on Ryan. Murong was gritting his teeth, his body practically on fire, screaming like a madman!

"Die!" Murong shouted. The sword was about to stab straight into Ryan’s chest.

"Nice Judgment Sword, but it’s all form, no substance—way too fragile!" Ryan smiled faintly. Suddenly, five-colored golden light surged from his dantian, and in a flash, a five-colored golden core floated above his head, its glow totally outshining the Judgment Sword.

"How can this be? What did you go through, kid? What kind of technique is that?" Murong was totally dumbfounded, almost coughing up blood. Right then, the Judgment Sword he’d poured his whole life into shattered completely.

"Ryan, flay that bastard alive—after this, your name will shake the world!" Inside, the Ghost Elder roared with excitement. This was Ryan’s chance to stun everyone!
