"I don't know. I'll have to maintain it for a quarter of an hour and watch which direction they move before I can tell," said Skyler Shi.
"Alright, give it a try. We'll wait here," said Ray Qing.
Skyler Shi nodded, closed his eyes, and once again infused Immortal Source, watching as the aura shifted and moved in a certain direction.
About a quarter of an hour later, Skyler Shi opened his eyes, his face covered in sweat. He looked completely exhausted, gasping, "This is seriously tiring."
"Senior Shi, are you alright?" Ray Qing asked.
"I'm fine, it's just too draining on Immortal Essence," Skyler Shi replied.
"Then rest for now," Ray Qing said. Skyler Shi nodded, and as he rested, he shared what he had seen.
After listening to Skyler Shi's explanation, Ray Qing said, "Senior Shi, according to what you said, is he going to look for those other people?"
"The direction points to those people, but I can't say for sure what he'll do," Skyler Shi replied.
"If that's the case, what should we do? Head toward those people? After all, if he changes direction again, by the time we get there, he might already be gone," Ray Qing considered aloud.
"Yeah, that's what I was thinking too," said Skyler Shi.
"Then let's get ready to head out," Ray Qing sighed, feeling helpless. Sometimes he really regretted coming here—this place was simply unfit for people, way too terrifying. But with Quentin Qing's death order, if he didn't go, the family would punish him.
Faced with this choice, Ray Qing could only come here—at least there was still a chance of survival.
Skyler Shi said, "Let's rest for a day. I can't fly right now."
Thinking about what Skyler Shi just went through, Ray Qing said awkwardly, "I forgot, sorry."
"It's fine. We can use a flying artifact. It's not as fast, but it'll do. Just be careful," Skyler Shi thought aloud. If they waited another day, it would be even harder to catch up, so he spoke up.
Ray Qing nodded, so Skyler Shi stayed inside the flying artifact, with others controlling it, while the rest continued outside, protecting the artifact.
After all, with the Immortal Lord so weakened, the consequences of not protecting him were obvious. With their strongest member down, what could anyone else do to struggle?
This made their actions more troublesome, and the threats increased. Faced with this situation, they had no choice but to stop and wait for Skyler Shi to recover and boost their fighting strength.
Meanwhile, Evan Yang and Hannah Nangong followed the directions given by the Phantom Spirit Birds, heading toward their destination.
Just like that, one day, two days, then several months passed. Evan Yang finally got close to where the group was, but his divine sense found that the spot the Phantom Spirit Birds indicated was actually empty.
"That's odd, they're gone," Evan Yang said suspiciously.
"What's gone?" Hannah Nangong asked, puzzled.
"The Phantom Spirit Birds said there would be a group here, but now it seems a bit unpredictable," Evan Yang frowned.
"Maybe we came to the wrong place," Hannah Nangong said. She had been searching for the Ten-Million-Year Wood-Heart Core along the way for months, spending a lot of energy.
"No, this matches what the Phantom Spirit Birds described," Evan Yang replied.
"Then why is nobody here?" Hannah Nangong asked suspiciously.
Just then, something like a long arrow suddenly shot out from the woods. Evan Yang, with his countless divine senses, quickly sensed danger and said, "Threat incoming—get in the Spirit Tower!"
Before Hannah Nangong could react, she was pulled into the Spirit Tower. Evan Yang quickly retreated and dodged, as the arrows sped toward him—there were more and more of them. When Evan checked the source, he found people hiding among tree vines or under large leaves. Their clothes were entirely made of leaves, blending perfectly into the forest.
Even Evan Yang hadn't noticed them, which proved they had their own survival rules for the forest.
