When Joe Di sensed that he could no longer control this power, his true essence surged around him, his divine sense constantly shielding his Spiritual Sea.
Bang! Joe Di landed on the ground.
Am I alright? Joe Di looked up and glanced around. He was inside a sealed room, seemingly made of the same material as the grand gate. Here, his divine sense couldn't penetrate the walls at all.
In the center of the room was a pool, and surprisingly, there was water inside...
Wait, this didn’t seem like ordinary water. As soon as Joe Di’s divine sense touched it, he felt a refreshing coolness. Suddenly, the name of a spiritual item flashed in his mind—Spirit Marrow Wash.
Could this be Spirit Marrow Wash? Joe Di, unable to believe it, sent his divine sense in again. Sure enough, waves of coolness washed over his Spiritual Sea.
Joe Di drew a sharp breath. He was certain—this was definitely Spirit Marrow Wash.
A single drop of Spirit Marrow Wash was priceless, and here was an entire pool of it. Spirit Marrow Wash was nearly the only spiritual item in the cultivation world that could cleanse the Spiritual Sea, purifying all impurities within.
Normally, the highest grade of spiritual items in the cultivation world was level nine, but Spirit Marrow Wash was considered beyond grade nine. It was one of the few grade-less spiritual items known.
The value of this pool of Spirit Marrow Wash far exceeded that of the two supreme Ley Lines outside...
Thinking of the Ley Lines outside, Joe Di suddenly realized something was wrong. He had been inexplicably transported here—something was off.
Both Joe Di’s divine sense and Spiritual Sea were at level eight, and he was a king among level eights. His divine sense was so refined, it might even surpass those at the Truth Condensation stage.
Yet now, his divine sense couldn’t find any trace within this sealed room, nor did he know how he’d entered.
Logically, being swept here so suddenly should have involved spatial teleportation, but he sensed no trace of any spatial formation.
No matter how precious Spirit Marrow Wash was, Joe Di wouldn’t touch it now. He had plenty of treasures—like the World Tome and Graystone—each far more valuable than Spirit Marrow Wash.
Right now, what mattered most was figuring out how to get out of here.
Finding no clues, Joe Di summoned the Azure Veil Blade. The blade flashed a blue light as it struck the wall of the sealed room.
Crack! With a brittle sound, Joe Di was astonished to find that his Azure Veil Blade only left a mark on the wall, causing no real damage.
What material was this? He reached out to touch the wall, letting his divine sense seep in.
A dense aura emanated from the wall. Joe Di let go, staring at the black surface, wondering—could this be Earthvein Gold?
Earthvein Gold is an extremely rare forging material, much like Spirit Marrow Wash. Every piece that appears becomes a prize fought over by top cultivators.
Artifacts forged from Earthvein Gold can greatly weaken divine sense attacks and are ideal for crafting armor. Armor made from this material boosts defense by thirty percent.
If this really is Earthvein Gold, Joe Di was speechless. Just how wealthy—or wasteful—was the person who built this place? So much Earthvein Gold, not used for forging, but to construct a room and a grand door...
Still, building this room to protect the Spirit Marrow Wash did make some sense.
There was no way the Azure Veil Blade could break through Earthvein Gold—at least not as it was now. His blade was only a low-grade spiritual weapon; to cut through Earthvein Gold, it would need to reach the supreme grade.
But Joe Di wasn’t worried. He still had his Cosmic Flame, now at the sixth level. While it would burn through Earthvein Gold slowly, with enough patience, he could definitely create a crack.
As soon as the black Cosmic Flame, bright as the starry sky, was summoned, Joe Di heard a surprised exclamation.
"Who’s there?" Joe Di asked in astonishment. He’d only heard a voice, but saw no one. His divine sense had swept the room earlier—he was sure he was alone.
"It’s me. You actually managed to condense a Cosmic Flame? How did you do it?" A slightly hoarse female voice sounded behind Joe Di.
Joe Di spun around, shocked to see a white, ghostly figure appear before him. His divine sense had swept so thoroughly, yet he hadn’t sensed her at all. Where had she been hiding?
"You brought me here to try and seize my body?" Joe Di stared warily at the blurry white figure, guessing she was a woman.
The figure scoffed, "With your trash aptitude and muddled spiritual root, do you really think I’d bother? Still, it’s surprising someone with such poor roots could condense a Cosmic Flame."
Joe Di breathed a sigh of relief and cupped his fists. "I didn’t know this was your place, Senior. Please open the room—I’ll leave immediately."
This person was unfathomably powerful—even if she was only a soul body, Joe Di didn’t dare linger. Her divine sense and array mastery far surpassed his, or he would have sensed her earlier.
"You can leave, but since you’re here, I’ll need to borrow something." The white figure’s tone was matter-of-fact.
Joe Di calmed himself. The room was sealed on all sides with Earthvein Gold, blocking both divine sense and spiritual energy—he couldn’t escape unless he used a Realmshatter Talisman. But he only had two, each precious. Besides, would she even give him time to use one?
"This is a Spirit Marrow Wash pool. Go in and cleanse your Spiritual Sea and divine sense first, or I’ll feel disgusted." The figure said coolly.
Though washing his Spiritual Sea with Spirit Marrow Wash would be beneficial, Joe Di had no intention of entering the pool. First, his Spiritual Sea was already pure. The lightning within Graystone was so powerful that even its aura kept his Spiritual Sea free of impurities.
Second, he couldn’t see what dangers might lurk in the Spirit Marrow Wash pool. The woman was terrifyingly strong—her teleportation array and concealment methods far surpassed his own. Facing such a formidable opponent, even Joe Di wouldn’t dare enter the pool.
"Then please let me leave. Out of sight, out of mind." Joe Di said, neither arrogant nor servile.
"What a pity—what I want to borrow is your Spiritual Sea." The soul figure spoke as if it were only natural. "My own Spiritual Sea has been shattered. After all these years and countless spirit treasures, I still haven't been able to repair it. I can only temporarily use yours. As disgusting as your Spiritual Sea is, I have no choice."
Joe Di was furious. The Azure Veil Blade radiated blade intent—this old thing wanted his Spiritual Sea; it was no different from killing him!
"You want to attack me?" The soul figure showed no sign of anxiety, her tone still calm.
"Old turtle, let me go, or even if I die, you won't touch my Spiritual Sea!" Joe Di estimated he wasn't a match for this old thing, but he'd already decided—if it came to death, he'd self-destruct his Spiritual Sea first.
The soul figure sighed. "Since you refuse, I'll just have to stomach my disgust and do it myself..."
As she finished speaking, a terrifying sword energy shot straight into Joe Di’s brow.
Joe Di knew the sword energy was coming, but he was utterly powerless to resist. His heart turned cold—this woman’s divine sense was far beyond the tenth level. Worse, she could use it to launch direct attacks. How strong was she?
Crack, crack, crack... The rings of Joe Di’s Spiritual Sea shattered one after another—the eighth, the seventh, the sixth...
Joe Di tried to resist, but he was completely helpless.
Bang! A force swept over Joe Di, tossing him into the Spirit Marrow Wash pool. "Go cleanse your Spiritual Sea first—using a filthy man’s Spiritual Sea is revolting enough."
The instant Joe Di fell into the pool, the sword light that had invaded his Spiritual Sea shattered seven of its protective rings. Just as it was about to tear through the last ring, the Graystone hidden in the eighth ring suddenly unleashed golden ripples. The sword light met these ripples and gradually dissipated, vanishing without a trace.
The golden ripples spread outward, and the rings of Joe Di’s Spiritual Sea—torn apart by the soul figure—were rapidly restored. In the blink of an eye, every shattered ring returned to its original state.
Joe Di breathed a sigh of relief, not daring to move as he lay in the Spirit Marrow Wash pool.
The Spirit Marrow Wash continuously cleansed Joe Di’s Spiritual Sea. Even though there were no impurities to begin with, the washing made his Spiritual Sea ever more clear and pure.
Joe Di knew that once the woman judged his Spiritual Sea to be thoroughly cleansed, she would toss him out of the pool.
He had no idea how she planned to take his Spiritual Sea, but he absolutely wouldn’t let her try. Instead, he started thinking about how to ambush her.
The best time to strike would be when she thought his Spiritual Sea was clean and tried to pull him up. After weighing his options, Joe Di decided to use Riftblade for the ambush. No matter how strong her soul was, if he split her with Riftblade, she wouldn’t survive.
(That’s all for today’s update—good night, friends!)
