"Splash—"
Shawn Young felt a sudden chill all over his body as several mouthfuls of icy cold water flooded into his mouth, making him cough violently. The next moment, he realized his body was floating up from underwater.
Only then did Shawn realize he had fallen into a huge underground pool—Shadow Spring. The water was bone-chillingly cold and incredibly deep. Luckily, he knew how to swim, so after swallowing a few mouthfuls of water, he managed to float to the surface.
He widened his eyes and looked around, discovering that this mysterious place wasn't as dark as he'd imagined. There was a faint, eerie glow—not quite bright, but enough for Shawn to see his surroundings.
First, Shawn looked up and saw nothing but pitch-black overhead. He had no idea where he'd fallen from. Glancing around, he noticed many stalactites hanging down, emitting a mysterious, crystalline light like scattered stars. The faint glow in the cave came from these strange stalactites.
Many of the stalactites were taller than a person. Since stalactites only grow a few centimeters every hundred years, these must be tens of thousands of years old! Shawn had read about them online: if he could take one or two out, he could probably make a fortune! But right now, his biggest problem was—how to get out of here!
The icy water was unbearable, so Shawn swam to the edge of the pool and climbed out. The ground was slick and covered with moss and other plants. Shawn carefully felt his way along the stalactite columns, searching for a way out. He knew that if he couldn't find an exit, he was doomed.
A strong will to survive drove Shawn to keep searching for a way out. After fumbling around for a while, he suddenly spotted a cave not far from the pool’s edge. Delighted, he hurried toward it.
He quickly crawled into the cave and looked around. To his surprise, the inside was very dry, completely different from the dampness outside. The cave was huge—about the size of two university lecture halls. However, the lighting was dim, so he couldn’t immediately tell if there was an exit.
Just as Shawn was about to explore deeper into the cave, he suddenly felt a tingling sensation that quickly turned into a swelling feeling. He looked down—Whoa! His little buddy was swelling up like crazy, and his poor underwear was about to burst!
Shawn was shocked—he suddenly remembered that weird venomous snake had bitten his little buddy while he was peeing! Now the venom was spreading. He quickly pulled open his pants to check, and sure enough, his little buddy had swollen into a giant! It was dark, thick, and shiny—so huge it was almost comical! Honestly, it wasn’t much smaller than a donkey’s, maybe even close to a horse’s!!
"Ah!! Oh my god! It’s so big! How am I supposed to live like this—Heavens, Earth!!" Shawn wailed and howled again.
But no matter how much he screamed, he couldn’t stop his little buddy—no, his gigantic buddy—from swelling up with venom! The sensation was now fiery and intense, spreading through his body, almost as if he might explode at any moment!
It was getting worse—hot—unbearably hot! Swollen—terrifyingly swollen!
Now, his giant buddy was so swollen Shawn couldn’t even walk. His legs gave out and he collapsed, clutching his enormous appendage, lying on his side as the burning sensation grew even stronger. He felt like his whole body was on fire, like he was about to die! He never imagined he’d die from venom in his little buddy—and explode!
At that moment, he hated snakes—he hated anything that even looked like a snake!
The burning sensation had reached his head. His eyelids felt heavy, and his heart was pounding faster and faster. He knew—the venom was about to reach his heart!
In a daze, Shawn vaguely saw something square on the ground not far ahead, about the size of a book, dark and hard to make out. But Shawn knew—it definitely wasn’t natural, it was man-made! Someone had been here before! But what exactly was that square object?
Driven by curiosity and a desperate will to survive, Shawn crawled toward the square object. After a few minutes, he finally reached it and forced his eyes open—turns out it was a dark red, antique-looking wooden box!
Shawn was startled. He rubbed his eyes and looked again, noticing that the antique wooden box was covered in intricately carved ancient seal script. These characters were rare, and Shawn didn’t recognize most of them.
Shawn was a history major at South University. Thanks to his studies, he could tell at a glance that this strange wooden box was very old—definitely not something from modern times.
Lying on the ground, Shawn reached out and picked up the box, feeling its weight. At the seal, there was a strange strip of metal tin. Driven by curiosity, Shawn peeled off the tin seal.
Unexpectedly, as soon as the tin seal came off, a piece of yellowed silk cloth fluttered out and landed right on Shawn’s face.
Shawn quickly picked up the silk cloth and saw that there was writing on it. Although the text was in ancient traditional characters, Shawn was confident he could understand at least some of it.
Bringing it close, Shawn saw there weren’t many words on the silk cloth. It read: "Immortal Marrow Pill, left for the destined one. Phantom Snake enters the body, divine power begins. Take the Divine Remedy, all poisons will be cured—"

"Ah! All poisons cured!!" Shawn read those words and was instantly energized. He couldn’t wait—he twisted open the wooden box. Immediately, a wave of nauseating stench hit him, far worse than dead rats or rotten eggs!
Inside the box was a pitch-black lump, looking exactly like a pile of dog poop. The overwhelming stench was coming from this thing!
"Oh come on! Can you stop messing with me already? Just put me out of my misery!" Shawn tossed the poop-like black lump aside and cried out to the heavens. He felt like he’d just won the lottery in a dream, only to wake up before he could celebrate—a truly tragic life!
Just then, his giant buddy started swelling and burning even worse than before. Shawn howled in pain—his enormous appendage was so swollen he couldn’t even close his legs. He felt like an inflatable doll, except he was the male version.
