At this point, Evan Chu has found hope among the Ghost Clan—almost no one can recognize him as human anymore. But Roxy Lin and the other two aren’t nearly as lucky, nor do they have his special skills or the help of Luna the sword spirit.
After entering the human-controlled region, the Soaring Feather Young Lord headed straight for Shadowlin City. On the way, he ran into two boys about his age—both decent-looking, who immediately tagged along when they saw him traveling alone.
"Hey brother, are you also heading to Shadowlin City for the Outer Sect Disciple selection?" one of them asked directly.
Ethan glanced at the two. Their cultivation barely touched the Saint Martial Realm—nowhere near his level. He smiled, "Yeah, I’m heading to Shadowlin City. You guys too?"
"That’s right. It’s an honor to travel with you, brother! Judging by your flashy clothes, you must be young master from a big family. Would you mind doing us a little favor?" the other boy chimed in.
Ethan was speechless. They’d just met and already wanted something from him? He didn’t owe them anything—why should he help total strangers?
"This is our first time meeting, isn’t it? I don’t even know your names—why should I help you? Besides, I’m busy. Goodbye!" Ethan said bluntly.
"Aren’t all men brothers under heaven? Why keep us at arm’s length? You must look down on us. Fine, we won’t bother you anymore," one of them replied.
Ethan felt baffled. Were these two idiots or what, talking to him like that? He shot them a look and turned to leave.
After Ethan left, one of the boys muttered, "Big bro, you think that guy’s got Netherstones on him? He’s so stuck-up—how about we find a quiet spot and take care of him?"
