Xu Fu kept a smile on his face, but it was impossible to tell if it was genuine. After meeting countless people, this was the only smile I could never read. Xu Fu's offer was tempting, because right now, I was truly powerless—especially when it came to the Wraithlord. Xu Fu hadn't revealed everything; he'd only said half of what he knew. But he'd managed to pique my interest, and that was frightening.
"After all your research into the Wraithlord, what else have you discovered?"
"Let’s leave that for now. Heavenly Soul, why don’t you think it over carefully? If you’re willing, let me go with you to the world of the living. We can join forces—at the very least, we could solve the problem of the Forsaken increasing their power. After all, that’s your biggest concern right now, and it’s what interests me most. So, what do you say?"
I was still hesitating. Teaming up with someone as devious as Xu Fu—and Xu Fu made no secret of what he wanted and what he planned. Dealing with someone like him was truly difficult.
"Think it over, Heavenly Soul. I’ll wait for you right here. If we can really solve the problem of the Forsaken getting stronger, it’s as good as discovering a new kind of power. Maybe that power will be useful when we face the Wraithlord. The battle is coming—you should know what’s important. There’s not much time left for you to worry about our past issues, or those with the Human Soul and Earth Soul."
I slowly floated upward, planning to first visit Samuel Young’s place.
"I’ll wait here for one day. If you think it’s a good idea, just come find me."
I glanced back at Xu Fu. He smiled and waved at me, but I headed straight to Samuel Young’s house. As soon as I entered, I saw 007 in an apron tending the vegetable garden. He looked at me in surprise.
"What’s wrong? Did something happen, Heavenly Soul? You look terrible."
I nodded, then asked a question.
"Where are 001 and Samuel Young?"
"They went out shopping."
I looked around, surprised, and sat down on the steps at the front door. 007 came over.
"We’ve found a way to reach the Yang Realm. Samuel Young mentioned it to us—it seems that world still exists."
I grunted in acknowledgment and glanced at 007. He seemed quite excited—especially when talking about the Yang Realm still existing. I knew they longed for power too.
"Is something wrong with the Earthly Soul?"
007 really did notice. I grunted again, unsure how to explain. After all, Earthly Soul had lived with these two for a long time, and they trusted him. But now, I couldn’t tell them what was happening with him.
"Sorry I can’t explain some things to you. I’m still hesitating about whether to go to the Yang Realm."
007 looked at me in surprise.
"If you really feel lost, I think you should go back to how you used to be, Heavenly Soul. You used to be indifferent to everything, just quietly watching from afar. But now you’re different—you’re right in the middle of it all. It feels like you’ve changed completely, and so quickly."
