Return to the Lower Realm

1/19/2026

"Brother, with your hospitality, I won't say anything more. Let's just drink to everything." Evan Chu said.

The drinking session lasted most of the day before it ended. During it, Nolan Nangong also decided to expand the Immortal Realm’s army—after all, the safety of the Immortal Realm isn’t just Frostbane Imperial Palace’s business; his Martial Spirit Dominion must do its part too.

Early the next morning, Evan Chu, Nolan Nangong, and the Grand Elder left Martial Spirit Dominion. "Evan, if you want to return to the lower realm, you have to go to the Ascension Pool. You ascended at Coldriver City, right? We can only send you down from there."

Goldwing’s speed was like a shooting star; in just a few hours, they reached Coldriver City. Evan Chu had special memories here—if not for Big Brother Jin back then, he would never have had those early adventures. Now that Jin is the City Lord, it puts his mind at ease.

They went straight to the place where Evan Chu first ascended—the Ascension Pool. The pool’s water was once again filled with rich Immortal Essence. Back then, Evan Chu nearly drained it completely.

"Brother, build a palace here at the Ascension Pool. It’s for my friends from the lower realm when they ascend. If anyone comes up, don’t neglect them—I don’t want my friends to suffer the same treatment I did back then." Evan Chu said.

"Don’t worry, little brother. The Grand Elder will handle this. I’ll assign an Immortal Emperor to personally guard this place, and if any of your friends ascend, I’ll notify you immediately." Nolan Nangong said.

"That’s great. So how do I actually get to the lower realm? Please enlighten me, brother!" Evan Chu said.

"First, you have to suppress your cultivation to the level of an ordinary Immortal or lower. I’m sure you can do it—there are so many miracles with you, this little problem won’t stump you.

Then it’s up to me and the Grand Elder. The entrance to the lower realm isn’t very strong, but if we join forces, we should be able to break open a passage. All you need to do is pass through it quickly.

Each ascension point leads to a different place, so the passage corresponds to the specific world. That’s why we need you to come to the spot where you first ascended—only here can you return to your original world. Otherwise, you’d end up somewhere random, and going to the lower realm would be meaningless." Nolan Nangong said.

"So that’s how it works. I’ll trouble you and the Grand Elder, then. I’ll suppress my cultivation to ordinary Immortal level now. Back then, Yvonne Xuan taught me a method to lower my realm for a month—that’s plenty of time for me to finish my business in the lower realm." Evan Chu said.

Evan Chu secretly used the method Yvonne Xuan had taught him, suppressing his power down to the level of an ordinary Immortal. This was extremely risky—after lowering his cultivation, it would take a whole month to recover.

At this moment, Evan Chu was no different from a regular Immortal. If Nolan Nangong and the Grand Elder wanted to kill him, it would take only a finger. Only absolute trust made this possible—if they harbored any ill intent, Evan Chu would die horribly.

But Evan Chu didn’t worry about this; if they’d ever meant him harm, they would have struck long ago, not waited until now.

"Evan, I’ll open the entrance with the Grand Elder right now—you need to hurry." Nolan Nangong said.

The two quickly summoned a beam of white light from their hands and shot it into the ground where they stood. After half an hour, the earth slowly split open, revealing a layer of clouds. Sweat poured from Nolan Nangong and the Grand Elder’s foreheads.

Evan Chu knew that once the cloud layer was pierced, he could go down. Breaking through the clouds consumed a huge amount of Immortal Essence, and he felt deeply grateful to both of them.

Another half hour passed, and the clouds churned rapidly. A circular opening about a meter wide appeared in front of Evan Chu. "Evan, hurry! We can’t hold this much longer!" Nolan Nangong urged anxiously.

At this moment, the Grand Elder’s face had turned iron-blue from expending so much Immortal Essence, his whole body trembling. Evan Chu immediately took out four Jadeheart Lotus seeds from his storage ring and leaped into the opening.

As he entered the passage, Evan Chu tossed the lotus seeds upward and said, "Brother, take these Jadeheart Lotus seeds—the Immortal Essence will recover quickly. I’ll leave Frostbane Imperial Palace in your care!"

Evan Chu instantly vanished before their eyes, and the passage closed up again. Nolan Nangong caught the Jadeheart Lotus seeds and handed two to the Grand Elder, saying, "Take them—Evan’s treasures are the real deal. I hope you recover your realm quickly this time."

The Grand Elder immediately swallowed one seed, and a surge of powerful Immortal Essence flooded his body. He absorbed it, and after half an hour, his complexion turned rosy and much of his Immortal Essence was restored.

"Domain Lord, why didn’t you let anyone else help Evan Chu open the barrier? It’s a huge risk for you. Dropping one realm isn’t a big deal for me, but for you, it’s different." The Grand Elder asked Nolan Nangong suspiciously.

"Don’t tell Evan about this—I don’t want him feeling guilty. Dropping a realm is something I can recover from quickly. As long as he accomplishes what he needs, I’m satisfied. These Jadeheart Lotus seeds are truly heaven-defying—amazing stuff." Nolan Nangong said.

The two immediately returned to Martial Spirit Dominion. If Evan Chu knew that opening the lower-realm passage would make Nolan Nangong drop a whole cultivation realm, he would never have let him do it—he’d have found another way.

Evan Chu now appeared high above a strange land. There was no Immortal Essence here. He didn’t dare summon Goldwing or Shadow, or even Tom Chu or Jade Chu—their strength now exceeded the Immortal threshold, and they’d instantly trigger ascension or even dangerous tribulation.

With a thought, he used teleportation. Here, his blink could cover ten thousand li at a time. Within a few breaths, Evan Chu spotted a city and descended from the sky, landing on the official road to walk in like a regular traveler.

There were plenty of travelers on the road. Evan Chu casually scanned their strength—the strongest were only at the Divine Martial Realm, with not a single Saint Martial expert. He had no idea where this place was.

But coming here gave him a feeling of long-lost familiarity. He followed the crowd to the city gate, where the wall read ‘Breezewine City.’ The quirky name made Evan Chu laugh—he hadn’t expected a city with such a strange name.

He still had some Starstones in his storage ring, so he paid the entry fee and stepped into this unfamiliar Breezewine City…
