The Xuanchen Clan Again

"Cousin, you’re finally here! What took you so long?" Jumin Jing said, sounding extra chummy. "I was just asking these two when they’re going to tie the knot! Look at them—aren’t they a perfect match?"

Lucia Lu glanced at Snow Yuan, who was practically glued to Sean Shaw, and laughed, "Yeah, they do look good together. If this really happens, I’ll send a huge gift! It’s only right, since the four of us ended up on this mission together by fate!"

Sean Shaw’s whole vibe suddenly turned icy. He stepped away a few paces, voice sharp: "The South Xuan Kingdom’s flying cavalry will be here in an hour or two, and you’re thinking about weddings? Maybe you should all just go home!"

He turned and flew off, leaving the three of them staring at each other.

Snow Yuan pointed at Jumin Jing and yelled, "This is all your fault! Why are you spouting nonsense?"

Then she ran after her beloved Brother Sean.

Jumin Jing looked wronged. "Did I say anything wrong? They’re clearly all over each other!"

Lucia Lu didn’t say a word.

Snow Yuan went out searching but couldn’t find anyone.

With the enemy closing in and no general in sight, she started to panic too, and came back to ask the other two to help search.

The three split up, each heading in a different direction to look for him.

Luckily, Lucia Lu finally found him sitting on a huge boulder at the top of a mountain.

He was alone, standing atop the precarious rock.

A lush green pine leaned over, shading him from the blazing sun.

His silhouette was tall and well-proportioned;

The pine tree was perfectly placed.

It made you marvel at the beauty of nature’s handiwork.

But up close, she realized he was radiating an intense, icy chill.

It was sharp and overwhelming, yet somehow lonely.

Lucia Lu flew over and landed behind him.

Sean Shaw sensed someone approaching, turned around, stared at her face for a few seconds, then looked away.

"Fifth Highness," Lucia Lu called out. "My cousin’s always been blunt—don’t take anything he says to heart."

Ha!

Him?

Sean Shaw’s icy aura intensified; he actually got up to fly away.

Lucia Lu panicked and grabbed his arm. "Sean! Can you just say what’s on your mind? What’s up with you these past two days? Are you mad at me or something?"

Sean Shaw looked at her hand gripping his, and after a long pause said, "Aren’t you here to bring me back? Let’s go."

Lucia Lu let go and walked with him back to the center of the formation.

That Black Wind Formation really was something.

If nothing flew into it, there wasn’t even a trace of wind.

But once the flying cavalry arrived, the wind from those giant flying beasts’ wings would merge and get amplified to the max!

Suddenly, everything spun and tumbled—shouts and screams everywhere.

Most of those flying cavalry hadn’t even reached immortality.

They were just ordinary spirit users with some cultivation, not true immortals who could fly or teleport at will.

Falling from such heights, more than half of them died instantly.

The few survivors scrambled away, wetting themselves as they fled to report back.

Sean Shaw grabbed one of the leaders.

It was a fairly high-ranking general from the South Xuan Kingdom.

Then Lucia Lu fed him a Red Pill and asked why they wanted to wipe out little South Ju Kingdom.

The general said their official reason was that Silver Ju Kingdom had betrayed the South Xuan Empire.

But the core officers had heard rumors—the real reason was that Silver Ju’s emperor had done something unforgivable, offending someone they couldn’t afford to cross.

They didn’t know exactly who, but they knew it had to do with the Divine Race above the South Xuan Empire: the Xuanchen Clan.

Lucia Lu’s heart skipped a beat.

The Xuanchen Clan again.

No idea what Silver Ju’s emperor did to piss them off so badly.
