Chapter 694: Escape

Leon’s expression shifted, and without hesitation, he began to flee.

Suddenly, a cage of ash appeared ahead...

Leon and the Dark Elves were cornered at the edge of the Leaf Continent.

Oracis’s two serpent heads went berserk, unleashing spells of ice and fire, their raging power sweeping forth.

Even more alarming, the demonic head at the center of Oracis had flames blazing in its eyes, fire shooting three or four meters high. From its demon mouth, it spat out runes burning with black fire.

Each rune radiated evil, chaos, and the aura of doom, swirling before Oracis.

As these runes spun, enormous changes began to unfold...

The sky above turned blood-red, while the Leaf Continent below trembled violently. The stench of sulfur filled the air, and clusters of flame began to rain down from the heavens.

Black-smoked magma started to flow across the ground...

Boom...

A deafening roar erupted as magma exploded forth, volcano-like, spewing in geysers. The air thickened with poisonous fire.

Ominous, evil, apocalyptic, catastrophic...

It seemed as if everything within the ash cage was destined for total annihilation, all doomed to be destroyed in this upheaval...

Leon’s face changed again. He instantly recognized this as an apocalypse-class disaster, but this Oracis was clearly far stronger than the last encounter—or rather, the demonic power in its bloodline was much fiercer!

Oracis could control this apocalyptic disaster with unnerving precision. Not only was its casting faster, it was even guiding the disaster itself, and yet the ash cage still hadn’t dissipated...

Even those two serpent heads had enough strength left to unleash a barrage of spell attacks...

Leon pulled out the Death Tome and the Spellbook of Ages. If things got desperate, he’d have to risk everything with both artifacts.

The demi-plane was still too weak—at best, it could help Leon dodge certain death spells. But if he tried to escape this devastation using it, the consequences might be no better than dying outright.

The apocalyptic disaster would sweep through and obliterate everything in its path—including space itself, shredding it to pieces. Any spatial coordinates left here would be utterly destroyed.

If they hid in the demi-plane, they’d be cut off from Northend World. With no coordinates or planar path, the demi-plane would become a drifting prison, lost somewhere in the void.

A fully matured demi-plane is powerful, but Leon’s was nowhere near that level yet...

Leon’s palms were sweating as he fought desperately against the spells from Oracis’s two serpent heads, while also struggling to resist the slowly building apocalypse.

Fortunately, the apocalyptic disaster was only in its guiding phase—the power wasn’t yet unstoppable. But once it erupted, everyone here would die!

Leon’s resistance was tough, but the Dark Elves had it even worse. Within seconds, one fell—some killed by exploding magma, others by poisonous gas, or burned alive after falling into the magma.

Others were simply reduced to ash by the flames...

Jeremy’s face was filled with despair. Though he fought on, his spells grew weaker. Elsa, looking deathly ill, was barely holding herself together, yet still forced to cast defensive magic.

The apocalypse was about to erupt, and the ash cage behind them remained. Even Theo was getting anxious, nearly ready to charge into the flames.

Anderson’s three faces kept shifting positions—a sign of his agitation.

"Merlin..."

Anderson called out, while cold sweat beaded on Leon’s forehead. He said with certainty, "Once the apocalypse reaches its critical stage, not even a Sky-ranked Oracis could maintain the ash cage—this Oracis definitely can’t either!"

The apocalypse was almost at its breaking point—the moment before eruption. Even in its guiding phase, the ash cage was already a scene of utter doom.

Countless flaming, smoke-trailed meteors fell from the sky, cracks split the earth, spewing magma and poisonous mist. In midair, wild elemental storms raged—blades of wind, waves of fire...

And with Oracis’s two serpent heads casting spells, it truly felt like the end of days...

Suddenly, Oracis’s two serpent heads stopped casting, and the ash cage collapsed and vanished...

Prepared for this, Leon and his group immediately leapt from the edge of the Leaf Continent...

The other Dark Elves weren’t as quick—only Elsa and Jeremy, with thirty-some Dark Elves, managed to jump in time.

A wave of fire swept overhead, obliterating everything in its path.

Some Dark Elves were caught midair, their upper bodies devoured by the flames—instantly turned to ash, leaving only their legs to fall.

As they neared the small land below, woven from countless leaves of the Tree of Wisdom, Leon quickly cast Featherlight on everyone.

As everyone landed on the small platform, they looked up. The mass of leaves from the Tree of Wisdom had formed a continent-like platform, now riddled with fiery red cracks.

Below the platform, the entire structure began to fracture, magma pouring from the fissures like a waterfall of molten rock.

A towering black mushroom cloud—hundreds of meters high—erupted on the platform, and the massive land, stretching for over twenty li, exploded completely.

Flames, poison mist, thunder, and meteors were flung in every direction.

Leon hurriedly led everyone away, cold sweat trickling down his forehead. That platform was made of the Tree of Wisdom’s leaves...

Leon remembered clearly—just one living leaf from the Tree of Wisdom would take a top-tier Title Archmage a tremendous amount of time and effort to pluck.

Though the soil of the platform was formed from fallen leaves of the Tree of Wisdom, its nature hadn’t changed much.

Now, it had actually been blasted apart by Oracis’s apocalyptic disaster...

This Oracis was far stronger than the last one—not just a little. Its demonic bloodline was unimaginably powerful! Absolutely top-tier Abyssal Demon blood!

Leon led the group in a rapid escape, accidentally choosing the same route as the Dark Elves.

At this moment, the Dark Elves couldn’t care less about Leon’s party—clearly, they were far less of a threat than Oracis.

Though everyone’s escape routes were similar, they kept a cautious distance—no one wanted to get too close. In times like these, a fight would doom them all.

Just as they crossed the small platform beneath their feet, a massive creature, wreathed in fire and magma, crashed down onto it.

Rumble...

With a thunderous crash, cracks split the platform below. The leaves of the Tree of Wisdom, fused together over countless years, separated under the force of the blow—the whole platform began to break apart...

A mass of leaves from the Tree of Wisdom tumbled down, while Oracis roared, charging after the group with thunderous steps.

Seeing Oracis leap and dart nimbly along the trunk, Leon’s face turned a shade of green...

Leon had already noticed this Oracis was stronger than the last, but he hadn’t expected it to be so agile as well.

Watching Oracis leap between trunk and leaves, sometimes even using spells to boost its speed...
