Fifth Highness Is So Adorable

Sean Shaw's score... was actually much higher than before!

But Jenna Summers still had the lowest score.

And it was even lower than before.

The only change was in the second-to-last spot.

He had exactly the same score as the person in third-to-last place.

So he didn’t have to leave.

In the end, only Jenna Summers had to go!

Jenna’s face went from red to green, then white. She kept muttering, “Impossible... Impossible... How could this happen? Why did his score go up instead of down when everyone knows he threw the match?”

“I’m pretty confused too,” said the Celestial Emperor, turning to Ian Yan and the others who had tallied the scores. “Did you guys mess up the math?”

“These are everyone’s scores. Please check them, Your Majesty.” Ian Yan handed the score sheets to the Celestial Emperor.

The Celestial Emperor and Divine Lord Tanya Quinn checked carefully, but found no issues.

“The score tally is correct. Let me ask a few people whose scores changed.” said the Celestial Emperor. “Ian Yan, why did you give Little Five a higher score?”

Ian Yan glanced awkwardly at Lucia Lu, his face flushed and dark. He stammered, “I... I don’t think Fifth Highness did it on purpose. Because, if Divine Lady Lucia glared at me like that, I’d... I’d lose too.”

All the men burst out laughing.

The Celestial Emperor raised his brows and asked a woman, “Cora Shang, why did you give Little Five a higher score?”

Cora replied, “I think a man who gets flustered by a glare is a man with a soft heart! Fifth Highness is just adorable!”

The Celestial Emperor beamed with a proud, doting smile.

Then he turned to the one who'd narrowly escaped elimination: “You should thank Divine Lady Jenna Summers. She’s the reason you got to stay.”

Sure enough, he went over and bowed. “Thank you, Divine Lady Jenna Summers!”

“Get lost!” Jenna, furious and humiliated, shoved him away and flew off.

The Celestial Emperor shook his head and told them, “What are you all waiting for? Vacation time!”

Cheers erupted throughout the Southern Maze Array!

...

For many, it was their first time in Cangwu.

They split into small groups to explore the Divine City at the foot of Southcourt Palace.

But Lucia Lu wasn’t in the mood.

She sought out Faustin first.

Faustin had come to Cangwu too, following his master.

The two of them found a place to meet in secret.

She ordered Faustin to keep close watch on Marcus Xuanchen’s movements and notify her immediately if he found anything.

Faustin agreed.

Still uneasy, Lucia decided she should warn Sean Shaw, just in case something happened to him.

She summoned him to a mountain outside Southcourt Palace using a Messenger Charm.

Sean arrived almost instantly, his face cold as he stared at her in silence.

"I need to talk to you about something," Lucia said.

Sean pressed his lips together, then after a long pause, said, "Go ahead."

Lucia showed him the Rune Talisman she’d recorded at Evercrest Immortal Mountain.

"I think they’re planning something against you during the Phoenix Divine Lord’s birthday," Lucia said. "You must be careful."

"You went after Marcus Xuanchen alone?" Sean’s face darkened.

"I wasn’t alone. I went with Faustin."

His expression grew even darker.

"You understand now, right?" Lucia said. "They might be plotting against you."

"I understand. Thanks for the warning," Sean replied coolly. "Is that all you wanted to say to me?"

"Yes," Lucia said.

"Nothing else?"

"What else do you think I should say to you?" Lucia replied.

Sean clenched his fists, silent.

Seeing his cold, wounded profile, Lucia bit her lip and asked, "What about you? Is there anything you want to say to me?"
