Chapter 992: Red Flame Fire Fox
For most magical beasts, the only materials worth collecting are usually their fur, teeth, claws, certain bones, and hearts...
Once these are harvested, the majority of a magical beast's body holds little value—at best, it can be eaten as meat. Yet, much of this meat is bizarre, often inedible, or has an extremely poor taste.
A faint look of reflection crossed Leon's face. This was only the beginning of their venture into the Blazeforge Battlefield, and already such a major haul. Even if nothing valuable turned up later, just obtaining this Sryess, which already showed traces of transcendence, made it all worthwhile.
After looting the Sryess's corpse, Leon led the group to continue scavenging the area. Soon, they found themselves near the monster's lair, where they unearthed a large quantity of Flame Crystal Stone and some fire-elemental magic metals.
Choosing a direction to press on, the vegetation around them gradually thickened, and some rare plants began to appear one after another.
Members of the Mage Legion kept digging up large amounts of precious medicinal herbs—prime alchemical ingredients, many of which were nearly impossible to buy outside.
Three days passed in succession without encountering any magical beast as powerful as the Sryess. The strongest they met was just a regular level thirty-nine beast, no match for the group at all.
They even came across a Mountain Rock Beast with astonishing defense, which was killed single-handedly by Hubert with brute force. The beast's shell was almost untouched, but its innards were shattered by Hubert's monstrous strength.
Still, while they didn't face anything too strong, even the weakest magical beasts they encountered were at least level thirty-five. The level thirty beasts always appeared in packs, with at least a few dozen showing up at a time.
