Injured, Don’t Force Me to Kill You

2/14/2026

The Snow Wolf is nothing like Beanie—it is never the type to cause trouble out of playfulness. If Left Shore wants to blame the Snow Wolf or take out his anger on it, he's dreaming.

The Snow Wolf sprinted wildly, its snowy fur speckled with mud. The rain soaked its coat, making it heavy and suffocating, so much that running became a struggle.

In the rain, the Snow Wolf looked bedraggled, completely lacking its usual wolf king aura. But it didn’t stop—in fact, it seemed to push itself even faster.

Serena could feel the Snow Wolf’s urgency, and she was certain her instincts were right. With a tense face, she said to Left Shore, "Left Shore, let’s hurry. The Snow Wolf is smart—much more sensitive than us. Something must have happened up ahead."

"Got it." Left Shore could also sense the killing intent radiating from the Snow Wolf.

Killers are always sensitive to that kind of aura. Left Shore licked the rain from the corner of his lips, then lashed his whip hard. The horse, stung by the blow, charged forward recklessly.

Serena’s riding skills weren’t weak either. With the Snow Wolf leading the way, she didn’t have to worry about dead ends or crashing into mountains. She leaned forward, her upper body practically parallel with her horse.

The two of them raced through the rain, one after the other, eyes sharp and focused straight ahead, bodies tense and ready to strike...

After two sticks of incense, Serena and Left Shore heard the sounds of fighting. While sprinting, they exchanged a glance: they were close.

To hear fighting even in the rain meant the people they were looking for had to be nearby.

After another hundred meters or so, Serena and Zuo An caught the scent of blood. Just then, the Snow Wolf leading the way suddenly bristled, every hair standing on end, and lunged forward with savage speed...

"Awooo—!" The Snow Wolf let out a furious, anxious howl, the sound sharp and urgent.

In the next instant, Serena saw the Snow Wolf’s agile form leap through the air. By the time she rushed up, the wolf had already tackled a black-clad assassin, jaws clamping down and snapping the man’s neck in one brutal motion.

That killing aura—so fierce it made your heart tremble with fear.

"Impressive," Zuo An praised, not forgetting to compliment the wolf as he leapt off his horse.

His horse kept charging forward, but Zuo An had already drawn his sword and dashed into the fray.

Serena didn’t jump down—she couldn’t guarantee she wouldn’t fall, and besides, she wasn’t as skilled as Zuo An at leaping from horseback.

She slowed her pace, urging her horse forward...

As she drew closer, Serena realized the Snow Wolf’s desperate charge had been to save Beanie.

What happened to Beanie? Suspicion flashed in Serena’s eyes, but now was no time to ask questions.
