"Why are you stopping me?" Diana Toba protested.

Ian Song pointed at the little beast not far away, its face full of bliss.
Diana Toba's expression changed. "Is that the Life Fiend Beast?"
Ian nodded. "That's right. It's absorbing the vital essence produced by those cultivators as they copulate. If you kill them and cut off its source, the Life Fiend Beast will probably force you to 'produce' essence for it yourself!"
Hearing the words 'produce essence,' Diana Toba's cheeks flushed, and she grew even angrier.
"Saintess, let's go!"
Ian grabbed Lila Li's hand and dashed outside. Diana Toba glanced at the Life Fiend Beast, shuddered, and hurried after Ian.
Moments later, the three of them emerged from the valley, feeling as if they'd finally seen daylight again.
"Fellow Daoist Song, thank you for saving me. I have urgent matters to attend to, so I'll take my leave!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Lila Li turned into a blur and vanished.
Diana Toba wanted to intercept her, but remembering her elder brother was still trapped in the array, she flashed a charming smile. "Benefactor, my brother is still inside the array. Could you help me rescue him?"
"Alright!" Ian Song nodded.
Seeing Ian agree so readily, Diana Toba grew a bit suspicious.
Sensing her gaze, Ian said coldly, "No matter what, I took your first time. Helping you save your brother is my way of making it up to you. After this, we won't owe each other anything."
Diana Toba's chest heaved with anger at Ian's words. "Who do you think you are? As the Divine Daughter, I'd never cling to you!"
"That's for the best!"
As he spoke, Ian flipped through several array hand-seals, tossing dozens of top-grade spirit crystals into the formation.
Diana Toba could barely hold back the urge to kill this guy—his mouth was just too foul.
Moments later, Ian stopped and declared, "The array's power will keep weakening. In at most five hours, the grand array will collapse!"
The reason he hadn't shattered the array outright was to give Lila Li time to escape, so Fletcher Toba and the others wouldn't come out and chase her down.
As soon as he finished speaking, Ian Song activated the Art of Great Teleportation and disappeared.
Three hours later, Ian arrived in a small grove and reverted to his original appearance. During those three hours, he'd secretly shadowed Lila Li, only relaxing once he saw her leave Myriad Spirits Island.
