Drake Dandy sneered. Lynn Ling and Serena Yunxiang had only just entered the Six Directions Realm, while she and Ruby were already experts at the Seven Stars Realm.
Once you reached the Seven Stars Realm, you could serve as a general in Everpeace Empire.
Before the Dragon Tamer Sect betrayed the empire, she had also dressed as a man and served in the army!
With just Lynn Ling and Serena Yunxiang’s strength, they were no match for her and Ruby.
“Courting death!”
Drake flipped her palm, her yuanqi transforming into a massive python that coiled behind her, jaws gaping wide. The air howled and rushed, swallowing toward the two women in midair.
Although the Dragon Tamer Sect wasn’t known for its spell arts, their power couldn’t be underestimated. After the Imperial Preceptor’s reforms, the sect absorbed the strengths of other schools and elevated their spell arts to a new level.
This move—Flood Python Devours Heaven—was already mastered to a high degree.
But Lynn Ling gripped the Nine-Dragon Armament with both hands, swinging it down. Lightning converged in midair, crackling and striking the weapon.
Now the Nine-Dragon Armament morphed into a Nine-Dragon Hammer. Its massive head collided with the yuanqi python’s jaws, thunder erupting and splitting Drake’s spell apart as the energy collapsed and dissipated.
Drake was startled. On the other side, Serena Yunxiang flicked her wrist, sending a fine thread stabbing toward Drake’s left eye. Drake flicked her fingers to deflect, but the thread ignored her force and kept flying straight.
Serena’s right middle and index fingers joined together, sword-pointing at Drake. Her fingers danced, and the tip of the Thousand-Silk Thread shifted in tandem, unleashing exquisitely refined sword moves.
“Saintess Serena’s swordsmanship isn’t bad!”
Drake’s left sleeve whirled, her yuanqi forming a massive python coiled into a jade disc, disrupting the incoming sword thread. But at that moment, Drake noticed Serena’s right hand was in front, left hand behind, both weaving sword seals. Alarmed, she hurriedly leapt into the air.
She had just leapt up when her purple skirt fluttered and was sliced into tatters, riddled with holes.
Up above, Lynn Ling swung her massive hammer down. Drake raised her hand to block, but with a thunderous crash, the hammer burst into flames, its terrifying force smashing Drake and sending her flying!
The Nine-Dragon Emperor Art itself was the finest technique under heaven, with supreme mastery in spell arts and immense reserves of power. At equal realms, its force was unmatched—except perhaps by Quinn Shepherd’s Overlord Three-Core Art.
Moreover, Emperor Evan was the most brilliant ruler since the founding of the empire, a true grandmaster who had refined and improved the Nine-Dragon Emperor Art, adding battle skills and sword techniques that made it far more powerful than before.
Lynn Ling cultivated this very art, fusing battle skills and spell arts to amplify her attacks. Though Drake was Seven Stars Realm, caught off guard by the two women’s assault, she was blasted away.
As soon as Lynn landed, she released the hammer. The Nine-Dragon Hammer split apart, transforming into nine dragon-shaped weapons that locked together, countless dragon scales shifting to form a mirror.
Ling Yuxiu stood behind the mirror. With a loud hum, a beam of light shot out, golden dragons swirling within it, striking the airborne Drake Dandy.
Serena Yunxiang immediately skimmed low across the ground, darting past the mirror, sword-thread coiling and cutting toward Drake Dandy, who was struck by the mirror-light.
"Ruby!" Drake Dandy shouted sharply, raising her palm. Instantly, the earth trembled as hundreds of sharp stone spikes erupted from below, blocking Serena's path and the mirror-light.
Behind the two women, the massive crimson serpent suddenly stretched out its body—so thick that it would take several people linking arms to encircle it. Its strength was overwhelming, sweeping across with brute force. If struck by such a colossal beast, even if not crushed outright, one would be gravely wounded!
The true trump card of the Dragon Tamer Sect wasn’t cultivation or magic, nor even their divine abilities—it was the ‘dragon’ they commanded!
The serpents they raised were all exotic breeds, bearing flood-dragon bloodlines. Even if their own cultivation was modest, as long as the serpent was strong enough, it could slay any opponent.
Drake Dandy’s crimson serpent was the rarest of all—descended from the Dragon King’s Divine Bridge–realm flood-dragon, with an exceptionally pure bloodline. That was why a single serpent could sweep through the entire Seven Stars Realm.
It was thanks to this giant serpent that Drake Dandy had become such a renowned expert.
The crimson serpent erupted with savage might, rolling forward to crush everything in its path. It was about to flatten the two women when, suddenly, an incredibly intense beam of light shot from behind it.
Ruby froze, staring in shock as her massive body was sliced clean in half by that beam. The other half of her colossal form rolled away, flattening swathes of forest!
By the pool behind the serpent, Quinn stood, lifting a gigantic Jade Eye. From its pupil, a beam of light shot forth—the very beam that had severed Ruby’s body.
Ruby shrieked in agony, spewing a cloud of thick poison. With half her body, she sprang up, jaws snapping toward Quinn!
The poison was lethally potent; Quinn wanted no part of it. With a shift of his feet, he unleashed the Stealing-Heavens Leg Art, dodging Ruby’s attack.
He moved with astonishing speed; before Ruby could react, Quinn was already airborne. Looking down, he saw that the Yellow Jingfolk city on the island had been utterly destroyed, their forest homes swept away.
Clearly, after Drake Dandy discovered this place, she went on a rampage—slaughtering and capturing the Yellow Jingfolk, razing their settlement to the ground!
Most likely, Drake Dandy learned Quinn’s whereabouts from those Yellow Jingfolk, then lay in wait here. After all, the Yellow Jingfolk were never loyal—quick to betray anyone.
Quinn’s expression darkened. The Yellow Jingfolk might lack loyalty, but they had helped him and his group. Help, after all, was a kindness.
Suddenly, Ruby’s massive head sprang into the air, her jaws opening wide—so far apart they formed a straight line—lunging upward to swallow him whole.
"Die."
Quinn turned the Jade Eye, and with a resonant hum, a beam of light shot out, plunging vertically through Ruby’s gaping mouth—dissolving all flesh in its path.
Hum!
A brilliant beam struck the ground, instantly melting earth into a steaming pit. Magma bubbled up, vapor swirling into the air, then cooling and solidifying into tiny stone beads that rained down—a miniature rockstorm.
Ruby’s immense body leapt, swallowing Quinn and the Jade Eye whole. But her flesh was pierced through, a tunnel blasted straight through her head.
Quinn landed lightly, as Ruby’s battered body crashed down behind him like a torn sack—filling the air with a faint scent of roasted flesh.
Ruby!
Drake Dandy’s anguished cry echoed from afar. The three women had already fought their way to the sea’s surface, battling fiercely atop the waves. Manipulating the water was effortless for Drake Dandy—her yuanqi merged with the sea, conjuring flood-serpents to smash and surge in all directions.
Lynn Ling faced Drake Dandy head-on; her Nine-Dragon Armament split into nine dragon-shaped blades, striking and defending in every direction. At any moment, they could merge into the Nine-Dragon Shield, blocking Drake Dandy’s attacks.
Serena’s techniques were as elusive as her Thousand-Silk Thread weapon—sometimes vanishing beneath the water, sometimes appearing above Drake Dandy’s head, impossible to guard against.
Though the Thousand-Silk Thread appeared delicate, it was deadly—posing the greatest threat to Drake Dandy.
With Ruby dead, Drake Dandy lost focus. Serena saw her chance—her Thousand-Silk Thread stabbed into Drake Dandy’s back, piercing her heart and emerging from her chest.
Just as Serena struck, Lynn Ling summoned the Nine Dragons together, smashing Drake Dandy with a single hammer blow.
Bones snapped and exploded within Drake Dandy’s body; fragments pierced the skin, jutting out in a bloody, horrifying mess.
Serena withdrew the Thousand-Silk Thread; Drake Dandy’s body swayed, then sank into the water.
Lynn Ling cried out, “Our weapons are still on her!”
Serena grabbed Drake Dandy’s corpse, nearly losing it to the sea. She grumbled, “I’d already finished her off, but you had to smash her again—now her bones are shattered, and she’s impossible to carry!”
The two women dragged Drake Dandy’s body ashore, rummaging for treasures. All they found was the Glutton Dragon Pouch—inside were their weapons and various valuables.
Serena emptied the Glutton Dragon Pouch; besides their belongings, a mountain of Yellow Jingfolk corpses spilled out.
Nearly ten thousand Yellow Jingfolk bodies formed a mound barely a yard high, but the sight of so many humanoid corpses was deeply shocking and mournful.
“Cult Master, I finally understand—this isn’t just survival of the fittest…”
