Chance Encounter at the Ramen Shop

Because Lucy Lu insisted on sharing a bed with Lynn Chen, and Joy Zheng found Jill Jing so adorable that she invited her to sleep together as well.

Jill hesitated for a moment but didn't object, so Joy Zheng took her by the hand and led her back to the room.

Gavin Duan and Big Tank were both put up in the guest rooms.

The next morning, bright and early.

After breakfast, Evan Lin told Big Tank to head to Minghai High-Speed Rail Station to pick up Charles Chen, with Gavin Duan tagging along.

He himself had arranged to meet Ken Feng and Hank Chu for breakfast at a beef ramen shop near the New Bridge Roundabout in Whitewood County.

Jill Jing hugged her cola and followed behind Evan Lin, while Lynn Chen refused to leave his side.

Compared to before, Lynn Chen was much calmer these days.

Last night, she and Lucy Lu chatted for a long time under the covers.

Lucy asked her about her attitude toward Evan Lin, and Lynn Chen honestly told her everything she was thinking.

Lynn Chen used to think about it.

If there was really no chance between them, maybe time would eventually let him fade out of her life.

She just needed to wait a while, then wait a little longer.

Until everything finally settled down.

Maybe.

Maybe Lynn Chen could really break free from these feelings.

But ever since that day, when the meteor came crashing straight toward her—

Lynn realized that, when she thought she was about to die, the first person who came to mind was Evan Lin.

In that moment, Lynn knew—

She was probably never going to escape him for the rest of her life.

Whether she lived or died—

But love, and all those messy feelings—she was probably never going to separate them from Evan Lin.

Sometimes Lynn Chen wondered—

In that moment—

Maybe dying wouldn’t have been so bad.

She just didn’t know, if she really had died that day—

Would Evan Lin have been sad, even for just a little while?

Lynn never dared to say any of this to Lucy Lu.

If she did, Lucy would definitely lecture her—and might even end up sad herself.

That wasn’t something Lynn wanted to see.

They talked a lot last night, and Lucy Lu even gave her several tips on how to chase after Evan Lin.

According to Lucy, Evan’s cold on the outside but warm inside—if Lynn took the initiative, something might actually happen.

The conversation went on until midnight.

By the time they finally fell asleep, it was already super late.

So when Lynn Chen got up in the morning, she had pretty heavy dark circles.

Jill Jing hugged her cola, Lynn kept her head down, walking through the snow right next to Evan Lin.

When they got to the ramen shop by the bridge, Ken Feng and Hank Chu hadn’t arrived yet.

Evan sat down first and ordered several bowls, specially asking for extra spice, beef, and fried eggs.

"Back in junior high, we always used to come here for beef ramen on winter mornings. The owners haven’t changed, and the flavor’s still great."

As Evan spoke, Lynn nodded and glanced around.
