Chapter 1498
If the God-Demon Soul wins, then things will get truly messy. One Blood Lich down, and suddenly a terrifying god-demon reincarnation appears—already at the peak of level forty-nine, and it might break through to level fifty at any moment...
If the Blood Lich wins, he might become a flawless lich—no one would be able to stop him. He could even break through to level fifty, with his soul’s defects completely mended...
Either way, it’s a disaster. And not just any disaster, but a monumental one.
What I saw in the Nightmare Realm already proved it—god-demons are nothing but trouble. Even after all of them fell in the Elder Age, none of them died cleanly. Their grudges stretched from the Age of God-Demons all the way to the Nesser Dynasty, and under the weight of their old and new vendettas, the Nesser Dynasty was destroyed too.
None of this was ever recorded. But after learning that the Elven High King and the Thirteen Dragon Lords were both god-demon reincarnations, Leon was truly stunned.
Now, thinking back to the claim that the Three-Headed Golden Dragon could rival a god-demon, it finally made sense. These guys are god-demon reincarnations themselves, and their bloodlines are among the very best. Once they regain their strength, aside from lacking the chaos power of true god-demons, there’s really not much difference.
As for whether there are any god-demon reincarnations left in this era, Leon doesn’t know. But he’s absolutely certain that there must be god-demon vessels out there, even now.
The Seventy-Third Deity was one of those unlucky souls that didn’t even finish reincarnating before getting wiped out. Its God-Demon Soul has been shredded again and again, yet it still manages to reincarnate. As for the other god-demons—the Seventy-Two Eldritch Lords—some of them must have truly perished, like the Lord of Wisdom...
And then there are those with no hope of reincarnation at all, like the Lord of Bloodshed and the Lord of Death. They’re either unable to reincarnate or just completely and utterly gone.
The source of Constantine’s power and wisdom was fused by Leon—so the Lord of Wisdom must be well and truly dead. The Lord of Death’s power source was shattered and scattered across the entire Undead Plane; recovery is basically impossible.
But as for the rest, there are definitely some who have reincarnated—it’s just unclear where, or who they are...
These beings who die and return, again and again—their old and new grudges are tangled beyond measure. If one of them is exposed, their enemies will follow, and then the enemies of those enemies...
In the end, it just becomes a continuation of the god-demon era’s hatreds—endless battles, maybe even shattering Northend World all over again...
While pondering how to solve this mess, Leon opened the Natural Semi-Plane—only to be utterly shocked by its changes.
Now, the Natural Semi-Plane feels like a real world: blue skies, white clouds, and the four elemental laws—earth, fire, water, wind—have fully evolved. There’s practically no difference from an actual world.
The evolution of the dark law is nearly complete, and the long-awaited light law has also succeeded. The Tree of Light has emerged—its roots and trunk are visible now, and all that’s left is for it to grow lush and full.
With the trunk formed, all that’s left is a matter of time.
As Leon’s level rises, the Sky Pillar bearing his rule insights grows ever taller. The number of Truth Runes inscribed on it has dropped by twenty percent—all those runes have been absorbed into the Sky Pillar as Leon comprehended them.
The earth grows thicker and wider, the ocean deeper and vaster. Fish and seaweed have begun to emerge in the seas, making things look less monotonous—these are all naturally born creatures within the Natural Semi-Plane.
The number of creatures on land keeps growing, but sadly, they’re all low-level, lacking any real intelligence. To nurture intelligent life, the light law needs to evolve further—and Leon’s own insights have to reach a new level.
The light law is ready to be comprehended. With the power of the Genesis Chapter, grasping the light law is much easier now.
More importantly, the Genesis Chapter contains the secrets of life’s origin. Unlocking these mysteries is the key to intelligent life evolving within the demi-plane.
Leon flew to the summit of the Sky Pillar, continuing his study of the Truth Runes. This situation was just too complicated—he had no clue where to start, so the Truth Runes became his best hope for answers.
These Truth Runes are said to contain all truths of the world, every secret of alchemy—maybe there’s even a way to deal with the Blood Lich’s soul in there.
Now at Sky Mage, Seventh Rank, Leon found it easier to comprehend the Truth Runes. With the Arcane Wheel assisting him, his speed of insight soared.
One by one, Leon fully comprehended the Truth Runes and fused them into the Sky Pillar. The pillar grew taller, its stabilizing aura stronger—thanks to the Sky Pillar, the entire Natural Semi-Plane became more stable.
After grasping another ten thousand Truth Runes, Leon felt it was getting harder to continue. His efficiency was plummeting.
Unfortunately, these newly comprehended Truth Runes, with all their hidden secrets, still didn’t help much with eliminating the Blood Lich’s soul.
The only real benefit was that his rank was now completely stabilized—even reaching mid-Seventh Rank Sky Mage. Comprehending laws became easier.
Earth, fire, water, and wind were the fastest to comprehend, since their laws in the Natural Semi-Plane were already perfected. The dark law had reached Seventh Rank Sky Mage as well. Light law was progressing smoothly, but time was still too short—it hadn’t caught up yet. Space law was the hardest, lagging behind even light law.
But there’s a shortcut for space law: the Suspended Fruit planted by the Mana Lake has matured several times now. A whole grove has sprouted by the lake, with ripe Suspended Fruit hanging from the trees. Eat one, and the space law fragments inside are absorbed automatically.

Thanks to his previous experience absorbing the Mark of Death, Leon didn’t find this method strange at all—it fused in perfectly.
Even after all the preparations, Leon still hadn’t found a reliable way to deal with the Blood Lich’s soul.
Now it finally made sense—why the Blood Lich didn’t care that his soul was in Leon’s grasp. It simply couldn’t be destroyed.
He left his soul in the Nightmare Realm not to hide it, but purely to seal it away—to seal the God-Demon Soul...
Opening the Death Tome, its pages flipped on their own, as if some force was lifting it—turning to the page of the God-Demon Soul.
But just one page short of the God-Demon Soul, the Death Tome suddenly stopped. The next page—no matter how hard he tried—just wouldn’t turn.
On the left was the Chapter of the Fallen, on the right the Blood Chapter. When both pages appeared at once, something unexpected happened.
Death and life’s powers appeared on opposite sides of the page, their energies clashing and colliding.
A skull phantom appeared on the left, a baby hugging its legs on the right—death and life collided, and a terrifying aura surged from the Death Tome.
Gradually, the clash of energies reached equilibrium. From shifting black and white, an ancient gray scales appeared between them.
The skull stood on the left pan, the baby phantom on the right. No matter how the sides changed, the scales stayed balanced.
The energies dissipated completely, the skull and baby grew calm, turning into two rays of light that sank into the page. Yet the ancient gray scales, radiating a strange and ancient aura, did not disappear.
The page flipped again. The previous chapters seemed to be pushed back by an invisible force, making room at the front—the scales merged into the first chapter.
The God-Demon Soul, still trying to burst out, was effortlessly pushed back a spot, barely able to resist.
The ancient scales fused into the first chapter, forming a scales emblem. Only then did Leon receive a message from the Death Tome.
It was a new chapter...
After collecting the Genesis Chapter and Origin Chapter, and then the Chapter of the Fallen and Blood Chapter, when the Chapter of the Fallen and Blood Chapter appeared together, their energies collided—triggering the new chapter.
Chapter of Balance...
A new magical device component—without physical form, it’s the embodiment of law itself. Only when activated does it appear, becoming the first chapter of the Death Tome.
This is truly the first chapter of the Death Tome. When the Chapter of Balance appears, all other chapters must yield their place...
The Chapter of Balance has only one power: balance. For anything to develop or exist, balance is most important. Only with balance can everything else follow.
When a mage’s power is out of balance, mana runs wild. Spell backlash comes from violently breaking balance, leading to terrible consequences.
When the world’s elemental powers become unbalanced, elemental storms form. When heat and cold are out of balance, storms forcefully restore equilibrium.
When life force dissipates and death prevails, creatures become undead, leaving only the last soul fire to maintain a fragile balance...
A flood of information poured into Leon’s mind, but there were no instructions for using the Chapter of Balance—just explanations about the chapter and the rules of balance.
