There was no lamp lit in the inn room, but a sliver of light from outside the window kept it from being completely shrouded in darkness.
Maxwell Jing fanned himself with his folding fan, muttering softly, "I thought we were early! Turns out these people are even more enthusiastic than we expected!"
Ethan Gu chimed in, "The Cloud Guild suddenly appeared and instantly overshadowed Rakshasa Palace. Everyone must be curious about what kind of person the Cloud Guildmaster is!"
Maxwell Jing finally couldn’t hold back his curiosity and asked, "Prince Damien, why did you let Morgan Shangguan leave the Ghost King's Manor? You even sent people to be at her disposal—it's truly baffling!"
Morgan Shangguan is far more capable than previous spies. By rights, Prince Damien should have dealt with her early on. Even if she was kept temporarily, it would be normal to remain vigilant at all times.
Prince Damien’s attitude toward Morgan Shangguan was truly perplexing.
Damien Gray’s figure was hidden in the darkness, impossible to make out. His sensual voice drifted over, tinged with a trace of laziness. "I just want to confirm a few things as soon as possible!" With that, he fell silent, ignoring the two still puzzled attendants.
Meanwhile, in the inn across the street, Susie Yun hesitated as she asked the woman in the white robe before her, "Miss, are we really just leaving like this? Without even saying goodbye—they’ll be heartbroken!"
Morgan Shangguan put on her mask, glanced at Susie, and smiled. "What else do you want to do? Are you reluctant to part with those two brothers?"
Susie Yun stamped her foot and pouted, "Miss, what are you saying? The one I like is you!"
Morgan Shangguan sighed, "Susie, whether someone likes me or not is their own business! If someone falls for Ryan Ouyang, would you expect him to like her back?"
Susie Yun glared at the somewhat bored Ryan Ouyang to the side. "He wouldn’t dare!"
"Exactly! Let’s go!" With a tap of her toes, Morgan Shangguan leapt out the window, her figure vanishing after a few agile bounds.
Susie Yun muttered, "Weren’t we supposed to find out their purpose in coming to Blue Lake City? We still don’t know!" She frowned, wondering why Morgan was in such a hurry—the gathering wasn’t for days yet. Seeing Morgan’s figure disappear, Susie quickly grabbed Ryan Ouyang and rushed after her.
Blue Lake is the hallmark of Blue Lake City. Whether bathed in sunlight or moonlight, the surface of the lake shimmers with a faint blue glow. The city is named after this lake, and the Blue Lake Tavern, built atop its waters, is the most luxurious establishment in town.
Under the moonlight, Morgan Shangguan strolled leisurely toward Blue Lake, with Susie Yun trailing excitedly behind her. "Master, what do you think the Evil Path Gathering will be like?" Morgan didn’t want Susie to be recognized, but disguising her was troublesome, so she simply gave Susie a mask as well.
Ryan Ouyang looked utterly miserable. Susie had already been led astray. He sighed inwardly, never expecting he’d attend an Evil Path Gathering himself. Hopefully, the event wouldn’t infuriate him to death—again!
Morgan Shangguan curled her lips and said, "You’d better prepare yourself!" Gatherings of the evil path were never simple. As the head of the Shangguan Family, she had attended several underworld meetings abroad—things ordinary people could hardly accept!
But Susie Yun wasn’t exactly ordinary, either. After all, she used to be a Protector in the Demonhunters Guild and is now the Deputy Guildmaster of the Cloud Guild—naturally not someone to be compared with common folk.
Gazing at the beautiful Blue Lake, Morgan’s eyes remained serene. With a light step, she walked across the water, and in the blink of an eye, she was standing at the tavern’s entrance. The attendant at the door stared in awe at her graceful figure, only snapping back to reality when Susie handed over the invitation.
After glancing at the invitation, a flicker of surprise flashed in the attendant’s eyes. He called out loudly, "The Cloud Guildmaster has arrived!"
Though the gathering was still days away, the tavern was already filled with people. The attendant’s announcement was powerful—whether drinking in private rooms or resting, everyone poked their heads out, eager to see what kind of person the Cloud Guildmaster, Fiona Yun, might be.
Dressed in white robes and a silver mask, a faint smile in her eyes, every gesture radiated elegance and nobility. Gentle yet aloof, she was as ethereal as an immortal untouched by worldly dust—extraordinary, captivating, and awe-inspiring, yet impossible to profane.
As Morgan Shangguan entered the tavern, the attendant still hadn’t looked away. Who could blame him for losing composure? No one expected the Cloud Guildmaster to be such an otherworldly figure—how could someone like her belong to the evil path?
The others stared at Morgan as if she were a rare creature. She paid no mind to their curious, scrutinizing, disdainful, or jealous gazes, moving as if no one else existed—completely at ease.
A man in green robes approached, cupping his fists. "I am Jade Greenfield, Green Envoy of Rakshasa Palace. By order of the Palace Master, I have been waiting for you, Cloud Guildmaster. Please, this way!"
The three envoys of Rakshasa Palace are widely known: Jade Greenfield the Green Envoy, Leon Blue the Blue Envoy, and Violet Snow the Purple Envoy. Of the three, only Violet Snow is a woman, and rumor has it she has her eye on the Ghost Guildmaster, vowing to marry none but him!
Morgan nodded lightly and followed Jade Greenfield upstairs. But after only two steps, she heard the attendant at the door, voice trembling despite his best efforts, announce, "Ghostmaster has arrived!"
Morgan paused, a sharp gleam flashing in her eyes. She turned to see the newcomer: a tall man radiating chilling ghostly energy, dressed in jet-black robes trimmed with blood-red, his face hidden behind a ghost mask that glowed faintly red. The mask exuded a cold, ominous aura, but the exposed jawline was strikingly beautiful and those thin lips were irresistibly sensual. The man seemed both demon and ghost, his presence icy and seductive—enough to terrify, yet impossible to resist.
Their eyes met. Morgan curled her lips—just as she’d expected!
As the man in black slowly approached the Cloud Guildmaster, the crowd held its breath. Curiosity surrounded Fiona Yun, the sudden new leader of the Cloud Guild, but toward the Ghostmaster, there was only fear.
