The Most Benevolent and Just Goddess
The other was just an ordinary spirit practitioner, nowhere near as imposing as the goddess, but she was undeniably beautiful.
Funny enough, Qingluan knew both of them.
That goddess was none other than Princess Luminia of the Phoenix Clan.
And that spirit practitioner? It was actually Wendy Zhu!
Looks like her illness was completely cured.
She had fully claimed the spirit root as her own!
Wait, isn’t the Myriad Clan supposed to be a vassal to the Phoenix Clan?
So why is she following the princess of the Vermilion Bird Clan into Elderworld?
Now that’s interesting!
"Hurry up and come over!" Princess Luminia’s voice rang out, sacred and commanding. "The Elder Spirit Tree is off-limits!"
Grace stepped away from the Elder Spirit Tree and bowed from a distance. "Princess Luminia."
"You know me? Who are you?" Princess Luminia asked.
Clearly, Grace recognized her, but Princess Luminia didn’t recognize Grace.
Thinking back, the last time she came to Yanjing City to plead for the Myriad Clan, her eyes were only for the Crown Prince and didn’t notice anyone else.
But Wendy Zhu definitely recognized her. Before Grace could speak, Wendy blurted out, "What are you doing here?!"
"You know her?" Princess Luminia asked Wendy Zhu.
"She’s my older sister." Wendy Zhu practically spat out the words "older sister."
"Your older sister?" Princess Luminia’s eyebrow twitched.
"That’s right! She’s my older sister—the one who killed my husband and destroyed my family! Chloe Zhu!"
Princess Luminia sized up Grace, her red lips parted slightly as she softly repeated, "Chloe Zhu?"
"That’s right! She’s Chloe Zhu! The one who left me for dead, killed my great-uncle, and shamed my mother!" Wendy Zhu cried, dropping to her knees before Princess Luminia. "Your Highness, please, I beg you—punish her!"
Grace sensed things were going south and glanced at Grandpa Gene the High Saint.
Grandpa Gene just shook his head and whispered, "Princess Luminia is the most virtuous and just of all the gods. She won’t kill the innocent, don’t worry."
Grace relaxed a little and watched as Princess Luminia strode over to them.
"Princess Luminia." Grandpa Gene bowed. "I am Grandpa Gene the High Saint, dragon steward from Drake Abyss."
"Mm," Princess Luminia replied. "I know you, Grandpa Gene the High Saint."
"The princess actually knows me? What an honor!" Grandpa Gene said with a beaming smile.
"Is this your first time in Elderworld?" Princess Luminia asked.
Grandpa Gene answered, "Not my first time."
"Then why did you let her defile the Elder Spirit Tree?" Princess Luminia’s voice grew stern. "Don’t you know the rules here?"
"I do!" Grandpa Gene said. "But this child wasn’t defiling it—she was just awestruck and full of reverence. It’s her first time seeing the Elder Spirit Tree, she got a little carried away. Please forgive her, Your Highness."
"That’s not right! If everyone acted like her, claiming admiration and respect just to get close, the Elder Spirit Tree would be picked clean!"
"Well..." Grandpa Gene had to admit, she had a point.
There were people who’d tried to break off branches from the Elder Spirit Tree to take home as offerings before.
So, the Tri-Clan Accord forbids anyone from approaching the Elder Spirit Tree—it’s an unwritten rule among the Divine Clans.
So Grandpa Gene said, "It was my mistake. Your Highness, please punish me instead!"
Princess Luminia smiled and said, "Grandpa Gene the High Saint is favored by the Celestial Empress—I’m sure you know how to behave. This has nothing to do with you. Clearly, it’s this young lady who’s being reckless and disrespectful!"
