The Yin Family and the Yun Family Become Enemies
Even if... Even if I don't acknowledge the Yun Family, that doesn't mean I can allow others to hurt my biological parents!
Max Mo seemed to have expected Cecilia Gu's reaction. He spoke deliberately, "Even though the other side used a shell company, don't forget how the Mo Family made its fortune. Our network isn't as shallow as you think. Digging into a company's background is a hassle, but not impossible. On the surface, this company looks unrelated to the Yin Group, but if you follow the money, you can see the connections."
Cecilia Gu stared at Max Mo in shock. "But why would he do this...?"
Mrs. Yun's face was already filled with anger.
The Yun Family was her home, and in just three days, it was bought out and bankrupted—by her own son-in-law, no less!
How could Mrs. Yun not be furious?
Max Mo's lips twitched. "That... I can't say for sure. But Charles Yin is always like this—he does whatever he wants and never spares a thought for anyone else's feelings..."
Max Mo's words were a fresh stab to the heart.
Mrs. Yun's expression was now furious beyond words!
"Cecilia, I used to think that as long as you were happy, it didn't matter who you married. But now, your husband really takes the cake! He cleaned out your father's fortune, left nothing behind!" Mrs. Yun snapped. "Cecilia, what do you think now?"
Cecilia Gu's face darkened. "I'll go back and get to the bottom of this."
"Cecilia." Mrs. Yun suddenly looked up, her face calm but her gaze unwavering. "I know I wasn't there to raise you, so maybe I don't have the right to meddle in your life. But you're Yun blood, you're my child. The Yun Family is my foundation, my whole life. That old courtyard holds decades of my happiest memories. Now, all of it is gone. I know it's hard for you to choose right now. But, sweetheart, can your mother beg you, just for my sake, to really think about your future? Please?"
Cecilia's heart trembled softly. "Mom..."
How could Cecilia not be aware of all the kindness Mrs. Yun had shown her these days?
Even before she returned to the Yun Family, Mrs. Yun had been caring for her with utmost caution, afraid she might feel the slightest discomfort.
Now that it was certain she was her daughter, Mrs. Yun wanted nothing more than to give her everything—even her own heart.
If only everyone could put themselves in someone else's shoes.
Even though I stubbornly say I don't acknowledge the Yun Family, deep down I've already accepted my biological parents.
Otherwise, why would I let them accompany me to the Yun Research Center?
I finally regained my parents' love, but before I could even cherish it, I have to face something like this?
Cecilia was in a terrible mood.
"I understand," Cecilia said lightly. "Sorry, I don't have much of an appetite. I'm going to rest in my room."
With that, Cecilia grabbed her bag and turned to leave.
She didn't give anyone a chance to catch up. She took a cab straight to the Intercontinental Hotel, got her room key, went inside, and called Charles Yin.
She needed to know if he was the one behind this!
Charles Yin's phone rang for a long time, but no one answered.
Cecilia knew Charles's phone was always with Alex, and Alex knew it was her calling—no matter how busy, he'd always give the phone to Charles.
But now, with no one answering, it could only mean—he didn't want to pick up!
A shadow slowly crept over Cecilia's eyes.
Charles, was it really you who did this?
Why?
Are you really ready to cut all ties with me?
Just the thought of that possibility made Cecilia's heart ache inexplicably.
How could that be?
She had never shown that intention in front of him—how would he know...
Is there something I don't know about this?
At that moment, in a luxury hotel in Africa, Charles Yin silently watched his phone screen light up and go dark, over and over, but never answered the call.
Alex stood to the side, not daring to make a sound.
Mrs. Yin called so many times, and the CEO didn't answer a single one—is that really okay?
The phone finally fell silent, but Charles Yin's face grew even darker.
"Didn't we handle everything cleanly? How did Cecilia end up suspecting me?" Charles Yin's face was so dark it looked like it could rain.
Alex hung his head, not daring to say a word.
Charles's eyes flickered, then he grabbed his phone, stood up abruptly, and strode outside, hurling the phone out the window.
"Tell Mrs. Yin I'll be staying in Africa for a long time. Tell her to take good care of herself." Charles said coldly to Alex.
"If Mrs. Yin asks about the Yun Family, what should I say?" Alex asked timidly.
"Just say... you don't know." Charles gritted his teeth. "No matter what she asks, just say you don't know."
"Yes, sir..." Alex replied immediately, bowing his head.
Just then, Alex's smartwatch suddenly beeped, and he saw a new message.
After reading it, Alex was stunned.
Three whole seconds later, he finally looked up at Charles and said, "CEO! The hospital just reported that Mrs. Jane Gu, Mrs. Yin's adoptive mother, has been injected with a mysterious medicine and is now fully recovered!"
"What did you say?!" Charles Yin spun around, his narrow eyes sharp. "Where did the medicine come from?"
Alex immediately called the hospital director back in China. "What's going on with Mrs. Jane Gu's medicine?"
The director nervously explained over the phone, "Someone came to the hospital today with a vial, saying it was sent by Mrs. Yin for Mrs. Jane Gu's treatment. They wouldn't let our doctors touch it—just injected it directly into Mrs. Jane Gu. Once her vitals stabilized, they left quickly! Mrs. Yin also called to confirm; she did have someone deliver the medicine!"

Alex repeated the director's words to Charles, word for word.
The next second, Charles's face looked absolutely terrible!
Could it be that Cecilia already compromised with the Yun Family for Jane Gu's sake?
Damn it, damn it!
Where did things go wrong?
The Yun Family is already gone—where did she get the medicine?
"Return to China immediately!" Charles Yin couldn't afford to delay any longer. This time, it wasn't about avoiding Cecilia—it was time to confront her and get answers!
It seemed that while he was dealing with the Yun Family, his little wife had been hiding things from him too!
Anger surged in Charles's heart.
Cecilia tried calling Charles several more times, but couldn't get through. The last time, it went straight to voicemail.
Voicemail?
Cecilia raised her eyebrows instantly.
At that moment, a video of Jane Gu being injected with the medicine and recovering was sent to Cecilia's phone.
Seeing Jane Gu safe, Cecilia finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Leon Mai isn't someone she can trust for life. It looks like she'll have to make arrangements for Jane Gu herself.
Cecilia thought and thought, but couldn't figure out what to do.
