Agent 343

12/2/2025

Awooo—raaaargh!

Two hellish infants rose from the metal operating table, letting out shrill, owl-like howls that made your skin crawl. Standing on the floor with hunched backs, their eyes glowed red, nostrils flaring as they sniffed the air like wild beasts. Their sharp fangs snapped open and shut, drool dripping everywhere—they looked absolutely monstrous.

Then, the exhaust pipes on both sides of the lab started pumping out that pale green toxic gas again, quickly flooding the place. But the two mutated babies didn't even flinch—no sign of poisoning at all. They just kept roaring, rampaging through the lab, pounding on the walls with insane force. The heavy metal walls rang out with loud clangs, and even the operating tables got bent and twisted in just a few hits. It was like they were trying to smash their way out.

Right after the gas test, a bunch of emitters popped out from the lab walls, firing eerie blue beams at the monster babies. Their bodies smoked and sizzled, making them shriek like banshees—but even then, nothing seemed to hurt them.

The researchers outside jumped up, crowding around the bulletproof glass to get a better look at the babies-turned-ghouls. They chattered excitedly in Japanese, jotting down all kinds of data from the computers.

"Whoa! They survived the radiation test too! BSL-4 passed! This is the ultimate evolution of the G-Virus! They're... they're about to pull it off!" the man next to Shawn Young stammered, voice shaking.

"Uh... How can this G-Virus be so terrifying? What are the Japanese trying to do with it?!" Shawn Young was also shocked by the two infants turned into monsters.

"After 9/11, the Americans went all-in on biochemical weapons, claiming it was to stop terrorism. The Japanese didn't want to fall behind, so their government secretly pumped in more money, backing human bioweapon research! They split the virus danger levels into four grades, from BSL-1 to BSL-4—the higher, the scarier. This G-Virus is the nastiest chimeric virus around. The end goal? Humans immune to poison gas, heat, radiation, and strong as beasts—tough enough to shrug off bullets! That's the real aim of their top-secret Beast Soldier Program. If soldiers got injected with this stuff, and the G-Virus hit the battlefield, you can't even imagine the carnage!" the man said, voice trembling with fear.

"So what do we do now?!" Shawn Young blurted, feeling the danger closing in.

"The Japanese only made this breakthrough by stealing our research! When Ryosuke Eguchi escaped to Japan, he grabbed valuable data and a few of our Chinese Academy of Sciences' latest biochemical agents. Eguchi isn't just a spy—he's a senior researcher, and even though he's not the top engineer, he knows exactly what those new agents do. That's why he risked everything to steal them. Once they mixed our tech with theirs, it didn't take long for a huge breakthrough! We can't let the Japanese get away with this! China is their biggest enemy—if war breaks out, they'll send these G-Virus Beast Soldiers to the battlefield!" the man said, swallowing hard.

"Who in their right mind would want to be injected with this kind of virus? You turn into something so terrifying, like a ghoul! Is there even a chance you could ever become normal again?" Shawn Young frowned and let out a sigh.

"Heh, that just proves you don't understand how brutal war can be! Once the Japanese lose it, they're way scarier than you think. Thanks to the Bushido spirit, there are plenty of soldiers willing to get injected with the virus!" the man replied coldly.

Suddenly, the two monster babies in the lab went into a frenzy—slamming into the walls, then hurling themselves at the bulletproof glass. Their limbs flailed and pounded nonstop, moving at breakneck speed, their fists flying several times faster than any normal human. In just a blink, cracks started to spider across the supposedly unbreakable glass, and the researchers outside instinctively backed away, terrified the monsters would burst through.

Bang! Bang!

Twin sprays of blood shot out—the monster babies' foreheads erupted in crimson streams. They shrieked one last time, then slowly collapsed to the floor.

"Whoa!? What just happened?" Shawn Young gasped.

Showerheads dropped from the ceiling, spraying a fine mist over the whole lab—clearly a thorough disinfection.

Next, the metal door at the far end of the lab slid open. A figure in a yellow Biolabs Hazmat Suit strode in first, followed by several other researchers dressed the same. They crowded around the monster babies' corpses, inspecting up close, then clapped and cheered. The lead researcher yanked off his mask and shouted in Japanese, "The experiment was a success!"

He wore gold-rimmed glasses and looked bookish, but his face was lit up with excitement. He kept cheering and rubbing his hands together, nearly jumping for joy as the other researchers congratulated him.

"Ryosuke Eguchi!!" Shawn Young and Ken Fu instantly recognized the target—this was the guy their mission was all about! The metal side door outside the lab slid open, and more researchers streamed in, congratulating Yamaguchi Hiroyo. Ken Fu tugged Shawn along to blend with the crowd.

"If we don't make a move now, when will we?! I'll grab Ryosuke Eguchi—you take out the rest of these bastards!" As soon as they stepped into the lab, Ken Fu shouted in Mandarin to Shawn Young.

Before he finished talking, he sprang into action—like a lion pouncing on its prey, he lunged at Ryosuke Eguchi. Shawn didn't hesitate either; his hands shook as he unleashed explosive Breaker force, smashing both nearby researchers' helmets to bits and sending twin sprays of blood flying.

But the guy who went for Ryosuke Eguchi didn't manage to grab him. Eguchi reacted fast, slamming a fist into his attacker's chest and making him spit blood. Gritting his teeth, the man kicked Eguchi in the gut, sending him flying into the wall.

Eguchi doubled over in pain, nearly passing out, but forced himself to shout, "Ah!! We've got intruders! Hit the alarm—now!"

The moment he yelled, chaos erupted in the lab. Ken Fu called out to Shawn, "Forget everyone except Eguchi—take them all out! Don't let anyone hit the alarm, or we're finished!"

Shawn knew this was crunch time. With everyone packed into the lab, he didn't bother with spells—he just roared, charged in, and unleashed his full strength, tearing into the crowd!

Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!

Blood mist billowed everywhere as Shawn cranked his Half-Step Breaker to the max—like a raging lion in a flock of sheep, every punch was deadly. Anyone he hit had their bones shattered by the terrifying force, the energy ripping through their veins. The researchers couldn't withstand his power; in a flash, a dozen bodies lay broken on the floor, their screams cut short.

But Ryosuke Eguchi turned out to be no pushover—he'd had serious spy combat training and could really fight. He tangled with the other man, both of them going all out, locked in a brutal struggle. Shawn could already hear footsteps pounding in the hallway outside, heading their way, and the sound of guns being cocked. Clearly, the Self-Defense Force special ops stationed outside had been alerted by the chaos.

"Oh man, this is bad! Get over here and help me take this guy down, then grab the data—we gotta get out of here, fast!" The man wrestled with Eguchi, both of them clutching each other on the ground, but he knew the guards were closing in.

Shawn dashed over, unleashed his Breaker force, and swept a punch at Eguchi's neck—Wham! Eguchi's eyes rolled back, his body went limp, and he passed out cold.

The man scrambled up, quickly ripped off his hazmat helmet and revealed his real face—a handsome young guy with a crew cut, just a few years older than Shawn. He was clearly a Chinese intelligence agent.

He shoved Ryosuke Eguchi into Shawn's arms and said, "I'm Ken Fu, codename 343. No time to waste—grab him and follow me! We need to get to the control room, all the data should be there. Then we'll escape through the emergency exit to the subway station."

Shawn knew Ken Fu was way more familiar with the base's layout, so he didn't say another word. He hoisted Eguchi onto his shoulder and raced after Agent 343, heading straight for the control room.
