Begin the Operation

Vincent Su didn’t let Serena Feng keep up her act for long. He quickly brought over the men she’d requested—when it came to Lance Quinn’s life, Vincent was deadly serious. He would never risk Lance Quinn’s life for anything.

With no table available, Lance Quinn was still lying on the ground. Serena Feng glanced at him, assessed the situation, and—without protest—kept her mouth shut.

As soon as he stepped into the stone chamber, Vincent Su called out urgently, “Serena Feng, the men you asked for—”

Halfway through his sentence, Vincent Su caught sight of Lance Quinn lying motionless on the ground.

Vincent Su’s face darkened instantly, a wave of killing intent surging from him. He rushed to Lance Quinn’s side, anxiety written all over his face, and barked at Serena Feng:

“Serena Feng, what have you done to him? Are you tired of living? I’m warning you—if anything happens to him, I’ll have your entire clan buried with him.”

The way Vincent stood, it was clear: if Lance Quinn showed even the slightest problem, he’d kill Serena Feng on the spot, not giving her a shred of hope.

Serena Feng didn’t doubt it for a second. But she didn’t panic—instead, she explained calmly and steadily, “Mr. Su, don’t worry. Your friend is fine. He’s unconscious because the anesthetic has taken effect. I did this to make it easier to extract the broken arrow.”

Facing Vincent Su’s shouts and murderous aura, anyone would be lying if they said they weren’t affected. But Serena Feng knew all too well: in Vincent’s eyes, compared to his friend’s life, she was nothing.

She was just a powerless, infamous outcast—a disgraced orphan with no family, no support, and a ruined name. To someone like Vincent Su, killing Serena Feng would be as easy as crushing an ant.
