Falling Into the Trap

Once Evan Lin absorbed all seven Dark Element Core Pearls, his Darkshift instantly blasted through to the third layer. The torrent of power that erupted was simply unreal—wild, overwhelming, like a tidal wave crashing through his body.

But that was exactly why Evan Lin could finally see the truth: every attack these so-called God-Venerable experts unleashed wasn’t really Divine Power—it was pure dark element, concentrated and deadly.

"If I could get three more pearls from late-stage God-Venerables, I bet I could punch Darkshift straight through to the fourth layer!" Evan Lin grinned, eyes blazing.

Compared to any other element, dark element is the most twisted and vicious—its corrosion and infiltration are off the charts. Just a touch can make any cultivator writhe in agony.

Ordinary countermeasures? Useless. If Evan Lin hadn’t mastered all kinds of powerful arts, even he couldn’t break through this multi-expert Dark Domain. You need real monster-level tricks to survive here.

"Silver Dragon, what’s going on outside? Has Skycloud Palace finally made a move or not?" Evan demanded, his voice sharp.

"Not yet. Just some small skirmishes so far—the God-Venerable bigshots are just watching. Stormtower’s latest intel says there are at least a dozen mid-stage and higher God-Venerables camped near Lost Gods Valley, and the old Drifting Cloud Guild Master is with them." Silver Dragon reported crisply.

"Still no all-out assault? Back when I fought Lost Gods Valley Master Wenshan Easton, his injuries couldn’t have been lighter than mine." Evan mused, eyes narrowing.

And with no powerful wood-element energy to heal, no Timewheel Bracelet to restore him, and definitely no Skycloud Palace-level recovery—by now, any of the Ten Great Powers could have wiped him out.

After all, besides me, plenty of old-timers have already been crippled by my hand. Evan Lin smirked, his confidence unshakable.

Evan Lin found this point extremely odd.

Logically, Drifting Cloud Guild and Skysoar Sect should have been the first to target Lost Gods Valley. But ever since their merger, they haven’t acted on their own ambitions—instead, they wiped out Rainbow Court and completely annihilated Sandstorm Sect first.

Now, even though a few lucky survivors remain in Freewind Sect, the sect itself is only a name—the reality is total extinction.

This makes it clear that Skycloud Palace’s ambition is immense—so why haven’t they gone all-out against Lost Gods Valley yet?

"Right now, among the Ten Great Powers, if Skycloud Palace is still holding back, then their next targets have to be Shadow Divine Palace and Stormtower. No doubt about it."

So, Silver Dragon, you and Fire Dragon head to Shadow Divine Palace. I’ll leave Ice Wolf, Storm Roc, and God Scorpion stationed at Stormtower.

Don’t underestimate Tao Dream and Monica—they’re both incredibly strong. With all these powerhouses together, even if Skycloud Palace wants to wipe us out, it’ll take time and serious effort.

Take my Emergency Warp Talisman. If anything happens, notify me immediately—I’ll use the Ethereal Divine Shuttle to appear right in front of you.

"What about you, Young Master?"

Evan Lin shook his head with a bitter smile. "No matter how dangerous Lost Gods Valley is, I have to go. There’s no way I’ll wait for Skycloud Palace to finish conquering Lost Gods Valley before I act—by then, getting the Parasite-Killer Divine Lotus would be a thousand times harder."
