"Another battle-hungry one?" Evan Yang muttered inwardly, just as Drake Xiao began his assault.
At first, both men tested each other out, but soon their fight escalated until the very air crackled with sounds like sparks about to ignite.
"You're truly strong," Drake Xiao admitted after trading blows bare-handed with Evan Yang. If not for his defensive artifact, he would have been seriously injured by Evan's triple-strength punches.
"Same to you," Evan replied, realizing his opponent wasn't weak at all. Drake's attacks were powerful, and while he didn't have Evan's triple-strength, his technique was excellent, directing every bit of force at Evan.
Relying on his agile movements, Evan dodged many of Drake's attacks.
"We've tested each other bare-handed—now I want to see your life-bound weapon," Drake Xiao said with a smile.
"Life-bound weapon?" Evan muttered, then watched as Drake Xiao drew a long spear. The moment it was in Drake's hand, his attack power surged.
A sharp, piercing sound echoed around Evan as the spear swept past him.
Evan dared not block with his body—the spear's head and the friction of its qi made it clear this was no ordinary attack. Drake Xiao's spear technique was deadly accurate; if not for Evan's speed, he'd have been pierced already.
"Watch closely," Evan replied, unwilling to be outdone. Seven daggers flew out; Evan controlled all seven as easily as one, his divine sense splitting to direct each attack simultaneously.
