Did You Think I Was Only Joking

Seeing Ian Song’s smug expression, Yuri White and Mia White were absolutely furious. But even so, after this little display, they couldn’t help but feel a twinge of respect for him.

Yuri White took a deep breath and glared at Ian. "Young Master Chu, are you trying to show off your power? Don’t forget, we represent Fifteenth Miss Summer Snow of the Daxia Merchant Guild. Just because you made it onto the Soaring Dragon Ranking doesn’t mean you can ignore her. And let’s be real, you’re only ranked last. Even Zhou Xingyu, who’s ranked eighty-third, serves under our Miss Summer Snow!"

"Looks like you still haven’t learned your lesson!"

Ian said this with exaggerated regret, then stood up from his chair and slowly walked toward the two sisters.

"Ian, what do you think you’re doing?"

The sisters instantly showed wary expressions.

"Why don’t you guess?" Ian teased.

Ian flashed a wicked smile, suddenly formed a hand seal, and in an instant, both sisters were horrified to discover they couldn’t move a muscle.

"What did you... what did you just do to us?" Mia White cried out in shock.

"Idiots! You knew I’m a formation master, yet you came to my turf to threaten me?" Ian said playfully, then stepped up to the sisters and brushed his hand across Yuri’s delicate cheek. "Pretty soft. Almost makes me reluctant to go hard on you, huh?"

"Ian, you’re courting death! I’m warning you, if you dare lay a finger on us, neither we nor our Miss will ever let you off!" Yuri White bluffed, trying to sound intimidating.

"Oh, really?"

Ian’s face instantly turned cold. He raised his hand and slapped Yuri hard, sending her flying with a crisp smack.

"Ian, you’ve got guts!"

Watching Yuri get slapped away, Mia shouted in disbelief.

Smack!

Ian swung his hand again and slapped Mia White, sending her flying too. He didn’t show a shred of pity—he’d never been the gentle type. If Summer Snow dared send people to threaten him, he’d just beat them down.

What’s the big deal? Even if the Daxia Merchant Guild is powerful, so what? Worst case, he’d unleash his demon army from the Divine Temple and turn Dragonfang City upside down.

The Bai sisters lay on the ground, their cheeks burning with pain. But in their hearts, they were filled with venomous hatred for Ian, wishing they could cut him to pieces.

With a single thought, Ian withdrew the formation.

The Bai sisters found themselves able to move again.

Ian looked at them with icy indifference. "Get lost. I’m giving you two hours—if you’re still in Dragonfang City after that, I’ll kill you! Oh, and pass a message to your self-important Miss: if she’s not convinced, she can come find me herself. We’ll see if she kills me, or if I butcher her!"

Madman! This guy’s a lunatic!

Hearing Ian say this, the Bai sisters had the exact same thought. They scrambled up from the ground, shot him a venomous glare, and hurried away.

After leaving Ian’s courtyard, both sisters were burning with anger—especially when the sting in their cheeks reminded them of the humiliation. The urge to kill bubbled up inside them.

"Sis, are we really just going to slink out of Dragonfang City like this?" Mia White asked, unwilling to accept it.

"No way. If we leave now, it means we’re afraid of that lunatic. And once we go back, how are we supposed to explain this to Miss Summer Snow?" Yuri White gritted her teeth.

"But what if he really tries to kill us?"

Though Mia White wanted nothing more than to kill Ian, she knew his formation technique was terrifying. The sisters were even stronger than the Profound Guards, yet under his array, they hadn’t been able to resist at all.

"Let’s go find Summer Huanlong!" Yuri declared.

A cold light flashed in Yuri’s eyes. "Summer Huanlong might not be one of Miss Summer Snow’s people, but if we die on his turf, she’ll never let him off. So as long as we refuse to leave, he’ll have to guarantee our safety!"

"Can he really stop Ian?" Mia still sounded worried. She had a nagging feeling that if they didn’t leave Dragonfang City within two hours, they might actually lose their lives.

Yuri thought for a moment. "Ian’s only real advantage is his formations. His actual cultivation might not be that strong. As long as we don’t give him a chance to set up an array, he can’t do anything to us!"

Half a quarter hour later.

Yuri and Mia White met with Summer Huanlong.

"Greetings, ladies."

Summer Huanlong greeted them politely.

"No need for formalities, Mr. Summer. We sisters are here to ask a favor!" Yuri said with a bright smile.

"Just tell me what you need. If it’s within my power, I won’t refuse!" Summer Huanlong replied with a hearty laugh. He sounded sincere, but there was plenty of water in his words.

"Someone wants to kill us!" Yuri suddenly blurted out. Summer Huanlong was startled, clearly shocked. "What? You ladies must be joking!"

Not only were the sisters formidable cultivators, but with four Profound Guards at their side, even five or six Sun-Soul experts working together might not be able to kill them. Plus, they represented Fifteenth Miss Summer Snow of the Daxia Merchant Guild—even the Valeguard emperor wouldn’t dare lay a finger on them lightly!

"Chief Summer, we’re not joking around. Someone really does want to kill us. He ordered us to leave Dragonfang City within two hours, or he’ll finish us off!" Mia White added.

Seeing their serious expressions, Summer Huanlong realized they weren’t kidding, but he was even more confused. "Ladies, who exactly is this person you’re talking about?"

Yuri replied in a low voice, "We can’t reveal his identity for now. We just hope you can assign some experts to protect us. We’ll be deeply grateful!"

With things at this point, Summer Huanlong couldn’t refuse. After discussing with the Bai sisters, he decided to send four Sun-Soul realm fighters to guard them.

With four Sun-Souls, four Profound Guards strong enough to rival Sun-Souls, and the Bai sisters themselves, even ten Sun-Soul experts might not be able to take them down.

Only a top-tier superpower could send out ten Sun-Soul experts at once, and Summer Huanlong seriously doubted anyone would risk a break with Daxia Merchant Guild over something like this.

Soon after.

Summer Huanlong sent over four Sun-Soul experts, and he personally stayed behind as well, wanting to see who would dare try to kill the Bai sisters.

Time ticked by, and finally, the two-hour deadline arrived.

Bang!

The door to the Bai sisters’ courtyard was suddenly pushed open.

Ian strode in, flanked by ten demon cultivators.

"Young Master Chu, what brings you here?" Summer Huanlong asked in surprise.

Seeing Ian, Summer Huanlong hadn’t considered him a threat to the Bai sisters. After all, Ian hadn’t bothered to hide his identity, and Summer Huanlong already knew that the Marrow-Cleansing Pill in Xia Qianshou’s hands came from Ian.

"Greetings, Chief Summer. I’m just here to take care of some business," Ian replied coolly, his gaze settling on the Bai sisters. "Looks like you didn’t take my warning seriously. Did you really think I was just making idle threats?"

At Ian’s words, even if Summer Huanlong was slow, he finally realized Ian was the one coming for the Bai sisters. He couldn’t understand—why would Ian want to kill them?
