Robes of the Earth Immortal Underworld Envoy

1/4/2026

Lily Bai sneered, "You think I'm afraid of you? As a Demon Slayer, I've long since set life and death aside! Even if you throw me into the Hell of Blazing Flames, I'll go in laughing—only then will I be worthy of the Demon Slayer name, and my legacy won't be in vain!"

Damian looked at her, and suddenly the corner of his mouth curled up.

His smile was gorgeous—with a hint of wickedness.

Lily’s heart gave a startled jolt.

Then, out of nowhere, Damian grabbed her hand, yanked her back inside, and started undoing her clothes.

His hands moved so fast that in just a couple of quick motions, he’d stripped off her outer robe.

"What are you doing!" Lily clutched her chest, mortified. "Weren’t you telling me to get lost? Now what’s this supposed to be?"

And Azure Flame was standing right there watching!

"What do you think I’m going to do?" Damian said, grabbing a black robe and wrapping her up tight in it.

Lily: "..."

This black robe was exactly the same as the ones worn by those ominous, yin-filled figures they’d seen on the street.

Damian grabbed another one and put it on himself.

The oversized black robe draped over his tall frame, and the attached hood turned his head into a shadowy symbol.

And once he put it on, all his aura was hidden, making him look just like the other black-robed, ghostly figures they’d seen—eerie and chilling.

“What kind of robe is this?” Lily asked. “It’s so full of yin energy!”

“This is an Earth Immortal Underworld Envoy’s robe,” Azure Flame said. “You’re an immortal, it won’t harm you, don’t worry.”

“Why do I have to wear this?” Lily asked, baffled.

Wouldn’t it be easier to just toss her into the volcano? Why the costume change?

“Actually, Yellow Springs Volcano can’t destroy an immortal’s body and soul,” Damian’s eyes gleamed wickedly. “We have to go straight to the tenth layer of hell—the Hell of Blazing Flames.”

Lily: “...”

Damian exchanged a glance with Azure Flame, said nothing, and whisked Lily out of the inn.

Sunlight couldn’t pierce the thick black clouds overhead; the farther they went, the darker the sky grew.

At the deepest gloom, a sudden light appeared.

It was a volcano, its slopes running with molten lava.

Yellow Springs Volcano.

Lily swallowed hard.

Damian didn’t toss her into the volcano after all. Instead, he led her down to its base and stopped at the entrance to a cave.

A battered iron gate stood before the cave.

At the gate, Damian reached out and sent a talisman flying into Lily’s body.

As a Rune Master, Lily recognized it instantly.

A Puppet Rune!

He’d planted a Puppet Rune on her.

With the Puppet Rune in place, she couldn’t control a single word or movement.

Then he pushed open the iron gate and walked her inside like a puppet.

Inside, it was a whole different world.

There were two layers of checkpoints, each with several entrances.

At every entrance, Palace Guards stood fully armed.

Several black-robed underworld envoys were already lined up for inspection.

At the first checkpoint, a Palace Guard shot a talisman into each envoy; if nothing strange happened, they were let through.

The second checkpoint was for identity verification.

A Palace Guard used a duck-bill-shaped Celestial Relic to tap each robe, projecting an image into the air; the envoy had to remove their cloak for a face comparison.

There was also a Bloodstone for a blood test.

Lily’s hopes soared. Maybe this would expose her?

If the Palace Guards realized she wasn’t the rightful owner of this robe, maybe they’d detain her.

But when the Celestial Relic tapped her robe, the projected image was her own face.

She passed the blood test too.

Her last hope that the checkpoints would expose their ruse was crushed as she was ushered, under puppet control, deeper into the passage toward the Underworld and the Hell of Blazing Flames.
