But would Ian Song care?
Not at all!
Because this universe no longer has any living beings—only endless death spirits. So what if they all die?
"There are three God-King-level death spirits inside this city!"
As soon as Ian approached the city, he sensed it. After fourteen soul metamorphoses, his soul had already surpassed the God-King level—his perception was terrifyingly sharp.
Three God-King-level death spirits weren’t scary at all.
Their side also had three God-Kings, but Redmoon God-King had two divine-spirit avatars, Silverwing God-King had one, and with the Origin Source Power Ian had given them, their strength had multiplied many times over since entering this universe.
If they ran into that mutant death spirit again, the three of them together could handle it.
This time,
Ian and Mira Skylar were still waiting outside the city.
The three God-Kings seemed to have an agreement: any storage rings they collected were handed over to Ian.
Ian didn’t hold back either. The value of a single drop of Origin Source Power was enough that they’d trade everything for it—so what did a few resources matter?
"Hey, what’s going on between you and Redmoon God-King? Don’t forget, she’s Silverwing God-King’s wife!"
Mira Skylar, who hadn’t spoken the whole way, finally broke her silence.
"Obviously we’re just brother and sister. What else do you think it could be?" Ian glanced at her and replied.
Mira wasn’t buying it. She sneered, “Liar! When you came out of the formation, you had Redmoon God-King’s aura all over you! You’ve got some nerve, messing with a God-King’s wife. Watch out—Silverwing God-King might go berserk and smash you to pieces!”
"You’re making a fuss over nothing! Did you forget I came out of the Sacred Mountain’s grand array? My sister got emotional and hugged me, so it’s no surprise I picked up her aura!" Ian was way too slick to let Mira trick him into spilling the truth.
Honestly, even if his relationship with Redmoon God-King got exposed, it wouldn’t matter. But he’d promised her to keep it secret, so of course he wouldn’t go against her wishes.
"Really?"
For some reason, Mira felt a little secretly happy inside.
Suddenly, Ian gave Mira a teasing look. "Why are you so curious about this? Don’t tell me you’ve fallen for me?"
Mira’s pretty face flushed, her heart skipped a beat, but she retorted, "Pfft! Who’d ever fall for a jerk like you? I wish I could kill you instead!"
"Good! That’s a relief!"
Ian looked genuinely relieved, patting his chest.
"What’s that supposed to mean?"
Mira was furious, grinding her teeth as she demanded an answer.
"Exactly what it sounds like! Anyway, I’m done talking—I need to cultivate!"
With that, Ian walked off, sat down cross-legged, and focused inward. After absorbing another drop of Origin Source Power, his chaos vortex underwent a further transformation.
He willed it.
The surrounding laws of the universe were drawn into the chaos vortex. In an instant, the crimson energy was stripped away and refined into an even purer, more mysterious power.
"Nice!" Ian was satisfied. "With my soul strength and the chaos vortex, I’ll reach Upper Heavenly God soon enough!"
Seeing Ian start cultivating, Mira didn’t disturb him. She took out the jade vial Ian had given her, poured out a drop, and began her own cultivation.
Her feelings were complicated. Ian might be a pain sometimes, but he was generous—he’d even given her something as precious as Origin Source Power without a second thought.
Just like that,
Another half a year went by.
It was time for the annual meeting again.
So, Ian and his group returned to the rundown building outside the valley.
By the time they arrived, the other three teams of God-Kings had already come back.
But two of them didn’t look so good—their auras were weak, clearly injured. One of them was the female God-King who’d wanted to kill Ian before.
King Tuer glanced at the two wounded God-Kings and said gravely, "The deeper we go into this universe, the more dangerous it gets. Shu Ning and her team were ambushed by five death spirits at the God-level—they barely made it out!"
"That’s true," Snowsun God-King nodded. Even the three of them had faced multiple crises and nearly been injured.
"I suggest we all merge into one team and explore in a single direction!"
King Tuer spoke again.
"I agree!"
"Me too!"
The God-Kings of the God-Demon Corps all voiced their support, agreeing to combine their teams.
But Snowsun God-King and his two companions stayed silent.
Over the past half year, Ian had given them Origin Source Power several times, greatly boosting their strength. Snowsun God-King had already reached the peak of mid-stage God-King, just a step away from upper-stage.
If he took another dozen drops, breaking through to upper-stage God-King was highly likely.
With Ian’s special care, Redmoon God-King had also reached the peak of mid-stage God-King, while Silverwing God-King had advanced to early mid-stage.
However, all three deliberately concealed their true cultivation, since their rapid progress would provoke envy.
If they merged into one team, their strength would inevitably be exposed.
So, they were unwilling to join forces with the others.
More importantly, if they joined the larger group, it would be inconvenient to continue cultivating with Origin Source Power.
"Brother Sikong, what do you think?"
King Tuer looked at Snowsun God-King, his gaze sharp.
Snowsun God-King thought for a moment and said, "How about this: the three of us will act independently, and the other nine can form a team."
King Tuer replied, "Brother Sikong, that’s not ideal. We’re all in this together—if you run into danger, what then? It’s better to move as one group!"
"I support Snowsun God-King’s proposal!"
Redmoon God-King suddenly spoke up.
"Me too!" Silverwing God-King added.
King Tuer’s face darkened. He sneered, "Brother Sikong, is there something you’re hiding? You’ve been here before—did you discover something extraordinary?"
Snowsun God-King quickly replied, "Don’t misunderstand, Brother Tuer. Last time I came, I was alone and only searched one city. In the second city, I ran into two God-level death spirits and was trapped for years before escaping. What could I possibly have found?"
"In that case, let’s all go together!"
King Tuer waved his hand.
Snowsun God-King had no choice but to agree. He didn’t understand why the other side insisted on keeping the three of them together, but at this point, refusal would mean a falling out.
"By the way, those two don’t need to join us—let them stay here. It’s safer that way!"
Suddenly, King Tuer looked at Ian and Mira. "Also, Shu Ning and Yun Huang are injured—they should stay here and recover."
"No, I don’t agree!"
Redmoon God-King’s expression changed. Shu Ning, the female God-King, had a grudge against Ian—if she attacked while Redmoon was away, how could she protect him?
"I think I should stay too!"
Ian suddenly spoke up, then called Redmoon God-King aside. After setting up a barrier, he said, "Sis, they want to kill me—but I want to kill them too! Don’t worry, I’m strong enough now to handle two wounded God-Kings. If you all have no ulterior motives, fine. If not, I’ll teach them a lesson they won’t forget!"
