Sisi Shao finally relaxed when she saw Evan Lin escorted into the Liang family villa, letting go of her inner hesitation as the women pulled her inside.
Ben Liang glanced at Evan Lin with a complicated expression, then hurriedly grabbed his carton of milk and rushed to follow Sisi Shao inside.
He had originally wanted to talk to Evan Lin, but when he opened his mouth, he suddenly couldn't think of anything to say.
"Come on, I'll take you in—let's get some rest first."
Lily Liang walked up beside Evan Lin. The way she looked at him now was completely different from before.
A man who can casually pull out a billion at once—he's basically a walking vault.
Evan Lin didn't refuse and followed Lily Liang inside.
"Why didn't you just say at the door that you had so much money?"
Lily Liang voiced her doubts: "My mom and the others have always been like that. In their eyes, having money isn't just about wealth—it's a sign of capability."
"So if you'd shown you were rich as soon as you walked in, you wouldn't have had to put up with all that pointless humiliation."
Lily Liang asked her question without feeling the slightest bit out of place.
She'd grown up in this kind of environment, and Evan Lin pulling out that much cash just now had really shocked her.
Logically, any rich kid who could move that kind of money shouldn't be so low-key.
Not to mention, Ben Liang’s mom and those other women earlier—sharp-tongued and snarky, every one of them—were honestly pretty unpleasant.
But somehow, this super-rich guy beside her seemed totally unfazed.
Lily Liang even suspected that if they hadn’t pushed Sisi Shao to the brink—about to kick her out of the Liang family—this boy next to her probably wouldn’t have bothered to show his money at all.
Just his calmness and composure alone made Lily Liang feel that Evan Lin was getting harder and harder to read.
Evan Lin didn’t answer her, not even bothering to respond.
Seeing that Evan Lin stayed silent, Lily Liang didn’t press him. No matter how you looked at it, what just happened wasn’t exactly pleasant.
It was best to let it slide, pretend nothing happened.
A woman saw Evan Lin’s dismissive attitude and immediately spoke up to defend Tyson Xiang.
You make it sound easy, but let me ask you—can you start your own company? Can you earn one or two million a year, and without relying on your family's money?
Another woman chimed in.
She couldn’t figure out Evan Lin’s background, so she emphasized the importance of not using family money.
For me, it would be pretty hard to earn such a small amount.
Evan Lin shook his head. "The revenue from his little company isn’t even enough to cover my taxes."
Does that really make you so arrogant?
Lily Liang was feeling seriously frustrated.
"Who's this? Looks unfamiliar—never seen him before."
Back garden.
As Lily Liang led Evan Lin over, a man with an unfriendly expression stepped forward, sizing Evan up from head to toe with a fake smile. “Are you Lily Liang’s friend?”
“I just saw you come back with Ben Liang. Why didn’t you go inside and hang out with him?”
The man spoke bluntly, making no effort to hide his hostility toward Evan Lin.
“Let me introduce you—this is Tyson Xiang. And this is... um, Ben’s girlfriend’s friend.”
Lily Liang gave a simple introduction.
Tyson Xiang and the guy who drove Ben Liang back earlier, Xiang Ren, were from the same family.
The Xiang family and the Liang family were pretty close; their strength was about the same, though if you really compared, the Xiang family was a bit stronger.
“Oh, Ben’s girlfriend, right? I heard about her from Xiang Ren. Supposedly she’s a girl from a small place—must be the one at the door just now?”
Tyson Xiang nodded, casually sizing up Evan Lin. “So by that logic, you’re also from a small place?”
“I’m actually pretty interested in small places. If I ever have time, you could take me to visit your hometown. Who knows, maybe someday I’ll feel like investing there.”
Tyson Xiang’s words made the group of guys and girls around him burst out laughing.
“Tyson’s got a ton of businesses under his belt—he started his own company when he was eighteen.” A flashy, well-dressed girl spoke up.
“Yeah, and Tyson was one of Tangshan’s Top Ten Outstanding Youths last year,” another girl nodded in agreement.
They all knew Tyson Xiang was determined to win over Lily Liang.
The two of them had been childhood friends, playing together since they were little.
The Liang family was happy to see it happen, but while Lily Liang didn’t really dislike Tyson Xiang, she still hadn’t agreed to actually be his girlfriend.
That’s why, when Tyson Xiang saw Lily Liang walking over with Evan Lin—chatting and smiling while Evan barely bothered to respond—he felt both annoyed and a bit wary.
To Tyson Xiang, Evan Lin was here to steal his girl.
Lily Liang listened to Tyson Xiang’s words without saying a word.
Evan Lin glanced at him coolly. “Top Ten Outstanding Youths, and your own company?”
“Yeah, just a small company. Annual revenue barely hits ten million—not much, really.”
Tyson Xiang smiled. He said it was nothing, but his face showed obvious pride. “Give me another ten years, and I think I can push the revenue up to a hundred million.”
“It just takes a bit of time, that’s all.”
Tyson spoke lightly, glancing at Lily Liang, hoping to get some reaction from her.
But he found that Lily Liang’s gaze was mostly fixed on the boy in front of her.
That made him pretty annoyed.
“Annual revenue of ten million.”
Evan Lin nodded. “That company really isn’t much.”
Hearing that, Tyson Xiang’s smile froze. He frowned, staring at Evan Lin. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Ten million a year isn’t exactly small change. And Tyson’s gross profit margin is ten to twenty percent—he clears a million or two a year!”
