Murder to Silence Witnesses

Seeing Evan Yang remain so calm even now, Marshall Wong couldn't help but admire Evan's temperament. He glared again and said angrily, "Kid, you dare to kill but don't dare to admit it?"

Evan Yang knew there was no way to escape, especially since the opponent had at least reached the Core-Formation stage. With true flight alone, Marshall Wong could easily catch him. So Evan had no intention of running; instead, he smiled and said, "You should ask your eldest son about that." As he spoke, he glanced at Warren Wong, who was angrily glaring at him.

Warren Wong, seeing his father here, acted even more arrogant than before. "Evan Yang, you're at death's door and still dare to argue!"

"I'm arguing? Or is it that the Wong Clan just loves bullying people in secret, and then when someone retaliates, you bring even more people to gang up?" Evan Yang retorted, his gaze mocking as he looked at Marshall Wong, who was about to explode like a wild beast.

Just looking at his two sons, you could tell what kind of person Marshall Wong was. He had only asked casually earlier, but now he snorted coldly, "No matter what, you must die today!"

"Is that so?" Evan Yang's aura surged as he met Marshall Wong's suddenly oppressive presence head-on.

As the Wong Clan patriarch, Marshall Wong was naturally exceptional—his cultivation was stronger than the average Core-Formation stage. Thankfully, he hadn't reached the Core-Breaching stage, which gave Evan Yang more confidence as he stared him down.

Originally, Marshall Wong thought Evan Yang was only at mid Foundation-Building. But seeing him now at peak Foundation-Building, he stared in shock and anger. "So you've reached Great Perfection. No wonder even Wong Zhuxiong couldn't handle you!"

Hearing that Evan Yang had advanced from mid to peak Foundation-Building, and that even Wong Clan disciples at the Core-Formation stage couldn't beat him, Warren Wong stared at Evan in resentment, questioning silently in his heart: "Impossible! How did he reach Great Perfection so easily? Why! Impossible, he's not the genius—I am!"

Evan Yang, naturally unaware of Warren Wong's thoughts, simply smiled and looked at Marshall Wong. "So this is all the Wong Clan patriarch amounts to!"

Marshall Wong was always the lofty clan patriarch—how could he let someone who killed his son mock him like this? He snapped on the spot, "Kid, you're truly arrogant!"

"The whole Wong Clan is just that self-important," Evan Yang retorted.

That line dragged the entire Wong Clan into it, enraging Marshall Wong, who immediately pulled out two nunchaku.

"Spirit artifact?" Evan Yang muttered subconsciously, seeing how unusual those nunchaku were.

“Hmph, glad you recognize it. These are the Wong Clan’s Twin Tiger Rods, crafted from the fangs of a tiger spirit thousands of years old. Today, I'll let you taste them—let's see if you still dare to look down on the Wong Clan!” Marshall Wong swung a rod in each hand. Evan Yang wouldn't dare block them head-on; just the aura alone was overwhelming, and with such a spirit artifact, he'd be smashed to pieces for sure.

So Evan Yang skillfully used Phantom Step, startling Marshall Wong. "Kid, what's your background? How do you know such a bizarre movement technique?"

"Patriarch Wong, don't you think your question's a bit dumb?" Evan Yang had no intention of answering, and it was perfect for lulling his opponent.

Marshall Wong and Warren Wong, seeing Evan refuse to answer, became even more convinced he had some powerful figure backing him. Otherwise, he couldn't be so strong or know such a technique.

Evan Yang's plan didn't last long. Marshall Wong couldn't stand being provoked so many times and roared, "You'll die here today—no one will ever know!"

"Murder to cover up?" That was Evan Yang's first reaction. But with the feud already deep, even if he had someone backing him, the Wong Clan wouldn't let him go.

At this moment, Warren Wong knew he was no longer on the same level as Evan Yang—he could only stand aside and watch helplessly. Meanwhile, Marshall Wong and Evan were locked in a deadly predator-prey chase, like a ferocious beast hunting a cunning quarry.

Marshall Wong’s aura surged to its peak, pressing in on Evan. In that instant, a rush of liquid forced its way up from Evan’s body to his throat. He gulped, swallowing the blood back down, cursing inwardly, "Damn, that artifact really is fierce. And with cultivation nearly at the Core-Breaching stage, he’s not far from breaking through."

Seeing Evan wounded by the Twin Tiger Rods, Marshall Wong sneered, “Kid, even with that footwork of yours, you can’t withstand my two rods.”

The aftershock of this artifact was already so powerful—if it actually struck, the consequences would be unimaginable. Evan hadn’t been knocked down by the Twin Tiger Rods themselves, but was injured by the spiritual force they unleashed. He finally understood why the Wong Clan could stand among the city’s four small families: with Marshall’s cultivation and this formidable artifact, he could rival an early Core-Breaching cultivator.

Warren Wong, hearing Evan might be injured, mocked him, “Filthy beggar, you’re going to die here today—and no one will ever know.”

“Want me dead? Hmph, then I’ll drag someone down with me!” Evan cursed at Warren’s hateful face and, seizing a moment when Marshall wasn’t paying attention, hurled two daggers straight at Warren, who was standing there sneering.

A piercing ‘swish’ echoed beside Evan and Marshall. Marshall sensed danger, spun to intercept the daggers, but was a step too late. Although the Twin Tiger Rods’ spiritual force slightly altered their trajectory, one dagger struck Warren’s left hand, exploding it in a shower of blood.

A miserable scream—‘Ah!’—Warren’s left hand was ruined, and he writhed in agony on the ground.

Marshall’s heart ached. He quickly gave Warren a cultivation pill to temporarily stop the bleeding, then ordered, “Hong’er, circulate your qi and seal your blood vessels.”

“Dad, I’m going to kill him!” Warren Wong had lost all composure, glaring at Evan in agony and rage.
