The Trap Is Set

Grace said, "You don't even like me! Why should I go with you?"

Evan Xiao didn't say a word. He just left.

There's a reason Leon Zane is the Crown Prince's favorite courtier.

He's always reliable and careful with everything he does.

Before leaving, he rushed to tell the Grand Elder, "These princesses offended His Highness the Crown Prince. He punished them himself. No one else is involved."

The Elders hurried over to treat them.

Their eyesight was gone for good, but at least the bleeding was stopped and their wounds were bandaged.

As for Bianca Whiteshire... those dragon scales covering her face...

Actually, the Elders knew exactly what was going on and could have cured her.

But since the Crown Prince himself did it, how could they dare?

The Elders simply sent the princesses away...

...

Lady Sophia departed.

Evan Xiao and his entourage left as well.

The Elders finally breathed a sigh of relief—they could relax for a couple of days at last.

But Grace and Felix Xi were just starting to get nervous.

They set up their plan and made sure her mentor, Jun Lionhead, was called away on business.

Then, Grace waited until the Grand Elder was alone and approached him: "Grand Elder."

"Grace?" Leon Young smiled at her. "Do you need something from me?"

"Yes." Grace said nervously, "Before my mentor left, he told me to come to you if anything happened. So... sorry to bother you..."

Leon Young's smile grew even kinder. "If you have something to say, just say it. Talking to me is just like talking to your mentor."

"It's like this..." Grace said softly. "There's an alchemist in the Eastern Alliance named Felix Xi."

At this, the Grand Elder's expression didn't change at all. He just kept smiling and asked, "Felix Xi? What about him? Did he bully you?"

"No," Grace replied. "We studied together, then joined the Eastern Alliance together. We were even called the Two Eastern Prodigies. We're pretty close, privately."

"So what happened to him?"

"Last night, I saw something that made me suspect... he might be the one who inherited the Divine Apothecary's Legacy!" Grace said.

The Grand Elder finally showed a hint of surprise. "What did you see?"

"Well, I..." Grace blushed. "I was hiding near the Divine Quarter, hoping to catch a glimpse of His Highness the Crown Prince..."

The Grand Elder chuckled, clearly understanding.

All the girls on this mountain are the same.

"Then I saw a mysterious man in black talking to Felix Xi," Grace said. "I vaguely heard them mention the Divine Apothecary's Legacy."

"Vaguely? You didn't hear clearly?" The Grand Elder sounded a bit anxious.

Grace shook her head. "That man in black was floating in midair, and his cultivation seemed even higher than my mentor's! I didn't dare get too close, so I couldn't hear everything clearly."

"Then why do you think the Divine Apothecary's Legacy is with Felix Xi?"

"It's just my deduction!" Grace said. "Felix Xi has always seemed odd to me. For background, he's just a regular kid from a civilian family, and he doesn't even know who his real father is.

Talent-wise, he only has an Earth Root.

As for teaching, he's nowhere near me. My mentor is an Elder from the Lionhead Family. But Felix? I don't think he's ever mentioned having a mentor!

The Grand Elder's brows twitched slightly.

"But even though he's supposedly worse than me in every way, his cultivation and alchemy skills have always kept pace with mine! Sometimes, he even surpasses me!" Grace said. "Don't you think that's strange?"

"So, you suspect the Divine Apothecary's Legacy is with him?"
