Xue Xue's fingers were trembling. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Is that so?" Yu Jie looked calmly at Xue Xue and said, "Since you're determined to become the Mo Family's young mistress, you must have done your homework and know what kind of person Mr. Mo is. Everyone knows that there are two prodigies in China: one from the Yin Family and one from the Mo Family. Whenever they appear in the business world, no one can match their presence. And when we say 'no one can match,' it's not just about their looks. Of course, both of them are stunningly handsome, but people fear their abilities even more. Whether it's Yin Sicheng or Mo Zixin, do you think they succeed in business just because of their looks? Do you think they've become China's top tycoons simply by relying on their faces?"
"No one can pull any tricks under his nose without being discovered. Just because he doesn't speak, doesn't mean he doesn't know. I'm saying this for your own good, Miss Xue—don't keep testing Mr. Mo's limits over and over. Lisa Li was punished precisely because she kept crossing the line. Miss Xue, do you want to be the next one?"
"Do you know why there are never any women around Mr. Mo? It's not just because he's deeply devoted to Miss Yun from the Yun Family. More importantly, Mr. Mo would never allow anyone to get jealous or petty under his watch. I'm the only female employee who can stay by Mr. Mo's side, and it's not because I'm a woman. On the contrary, my abilities are just as good as any man's, and I've made people forget about my gender. People see me as one of the guys, not constantly reminded that I'm a woman."
"Miss Xue, you've been around Mr. Mo for a while now. Surely you've noticed that no matter how many events I attend with him, no one ever speculates maliciously about our relationship, right? That's not Mr. Mo's doing—it's my performance that's earned everyone's respect. If you want to stay by Mr. Mo's side, focus on doing your job well. Don't try to make yourself stand out all the time, and don't challenge Mr. Mo's boundaries. Otherwise, when the time comes, even if I want to help you, I won't be able to."
Xue Xue was so scolded by Yu Jie that she could barely lift her head. She blurted out, "I don't believe you have no feelings for Mo Zixin! You admitted yourself that he's the most handsome man in the world—how could you possibly not feel anything?"
Yu Jie chuckled softly. "The peony is the most beautiful flower, and that's why it's the national flower—noble, elegant, dignified. But coincidentally, I prefer the peony's cousin, the Chinese peony—graceful and noble, yet still striking. Besides, just the other day, I met President Song's nephew, Song Shizhe, and he actually fits my aesthetic better. So, Miss Xue, don't judge others by your own standards. What you like and care about, others may not. So, don't use your own feelings to guess mine, ok?"
"You..." For the first time, Xue Xue was left speechless by Yu Jie's retort.
Lawyers are just unbeatable when it comes to arguing.
Most people really can't win against them.
Xue Xue stomped her foot and stormed off in a huff.
Yu Jie showed no extra emotion. She calmly tossed the trash in her hand into the bin, then turned and left.
As Yu Jie left, someone stepped out from the neighboring hospital room, watching her back. Her proud figure seemed to transform into a traditional ink painting—bold and vivid, yet still elegant.
"What's wrong? Got your heart set on her?" President Song patted his nephew's shoulder. "Yu Jie really is an outstanding woman."
Song Shizhe's face turned red.
He came to the hospital today to visit his uncle, but ended up overhearing Yu Jie being sharp and decisive at work from start to finish.
Especially when he heard her praise his looks, Song Shizhe felt like he'd fallen into boiling tea—his heart and body were both burning, overwhelmed with emotion.
"Yu Jie was right. At first, she joined Mr. Mo as a member of the legal team. Many people doubted her abilities and said she was just trying to cozy up to Mr. Mo. But Yu Jie proved them all wrong with her actions, earning everyone's respect and showing those men that not all women are just bees chasing after flowers. After all, some bees really don't care for nectar." President Song glanced mischievously at his nephew. "I've been abroad for years, but people always praise Yu Jie's work in front of me—she's truly better than some men. At first, I thought it was all exaggerated, but after I moved back and saw her skills for myself, I realized the rumors didn't even come close to her real abilities."
Song Shizhe couldn't help but say, "She really opened my eyes. With how amazing she is, why is she still single?"
"Not many men can handle her." President Song patted his nephew's shoulder. "If you really decide to pursue her, you'd better be prepared to come up empty-handed."
Song Shizhe looked resolutely at Yu Jie's departing figure and said, "I will."
This little episode at the hospital was passed on to Mo Zixin without a single detail missing.
When Mo Zixin heard about it, he just smiled faintly.
He knew Yu Jie would never let him down.
She always knows exactly where to draw the line.
With such an outstanding subordinate, he really couldn't bear to lose her.
Yu Jie returned home and made herself something to eat.
Because of her injury, she was given three days off to rest.
So Yu Jie didn't let the cleaning staff come. She rolled up her sleeves and cleaned the whole place herself.
When she cleaned Lisa Li's room and saw the princess-pink decor, she couldn't help but sigh.
After what happened, Lisa Li's world probably won't have any more princess-pink.
I just hope her personality doesn't become twisted.
Three days went by in a flash.
Lisa Li was finally transferred out of the hospital and returned to the apartment to recover.

Mo Zixin was worried about Lisa Li, so he hired a nanny to take care of her.
When Yu Jie was too busy to come home, the nanny kept an eye on Lisa Li so she wouldn't overthink things.
Yu Jie really was incredibly busy.
As soon as her leave was over, a pile of work was waiting for her.
Yu Jie had long been used to a busy life, so she actually enjoyed days like these.
Several times, Xue Xue tried to find a chance to talk to Mo Zixin, but he never saw her again.
It was as if the intimacy from a few days ago had never existed at all.
It was only now that Xue Xue realized Yu Jie had been right all along.
Mo Zixin never got to his position by relying on his looks.
For days on end, Xue Xue didn't catch a glimpse of Mo Zixin.
Even though the factory was running normally again, Xue Xue couldn't find any trace of Mo Zixin.
Finally, Xue Xue couldn't sit still anymore. She didn't dare approach Mo Zixin, so she went to Yu Jie instead.
"Lawyer Yu Jie." The assistant came in from outside and said, "Miss Xue says she needs to talk to you."
Yu Jie didn't even look up. "I'm busy. No time."
"She says it's about your family." The assistant tossed out the words and quickly ran off.
The boss is impressive, and Lawyer Yu Jie is amazing too!
Yu Jie calmly finished her work before going out to see Xue Xue.
"What do you need? If it's not something urgent, can it wait?" Yu Jie glanced at her watch and said, "The factory is just getting back on track, and there's a lot to sort out. I'm the only one handling things right now, so my time is really tight."
Xue Xue waited for Yu Jie to finish before saying, "No matter how busy you are, you should still care about your family, right?"
"I don't know what kind of family I'm supposed to care about. I've been single since birth," Yu Jie frowned.
"Maybe I'm meddling, but I wasn't feeling well this morning and went to the hospital. By coincidence, I ran into your younger brother. He looks a lot like you. I saw him all alone in the hospital—he seemed pretty pitiful." Xue Xue said, "So I bought him some fruit, and he even smiled and thanked me."
Yu Jie's brows furrowed.
Xue Xue really had some skills.
She actually managed to get in touch with people from her father's side.
Everyone knew she'd cut ties with her mother's side of the family.
But she hadn't cut ties with her father's side yet.
Xue Xue really was a schemer.
"Thanks." Yu Jie pulled out her phone. "How much did you spend? I'll transfer it to you."
Xue Xue sighed and said, "For such a small amount, are you trying to embarrass me? Do you think I came to you just to ask for money?"
Yu Jie didn't bother with politeness and put away her phone. "Then why did you come to me?"
"Yu Jie, you don't have to be so tense. You see it yourself—Mo Zixin hasn't seen me at all lately, and I can't do anything about it. I just wanted to help you out a little to thank you for taking care of me these past few days." Xue Xue said helplessly, "Since I failed here, my family isn't happy with me. I'll be leaving soon. I don't have many friends in N City, and you're the one I know best. So before I go, I wanted to do something for you. That's all. You don't have to treat me like the enemy."
Yu Jie lowered her eyes. "Is that so? When are you leaving? I'll see you off."
Xue Xue gritted her teeth, trying to look indifferent. "Probably in the next few days, maybe next week. Yu Jie, I know this is your family business, and it's not my place to interfere. But that little boy really is pitiful. He's only ten, and he's all alone getting injections in the hospital. I heard he's been sick since he was born and has grown up relying on medicine."
"So what are you trying to say? Want me to reconcile with my father and stepmother? Or go back to my father's family and become one of them?" Yu Jie was as sharp as ever. "Xue Xue, can you tone down your savior complex? Just because you think you're being kind, do I have to accept it? You have no idea what I've been through, and you're forcing your morals on me, trying to push me home. Are you sure that's kindness—and not just asking for trouble?"
