Chapter 1121: A Colossal Joke
Beside Diras, a pale-faced mage stammered out a half-baked suggestion.
Diras swung his hand and slapped him hard across the face.
"Byron, you idiot, can't you be a little smarter? Run away? Run where? If we run now, we'll just be hunted down by a furious Dida La later.
Do you really think Dida La will get killed by that monster?"
Byron's eyes darted around. He glanced at the group of onlookers in the distance, then grinned slyly and kept offering his lousy ideas.
"Lord Diras, we could lure the monster over to that crowd and get everyone to help. Surely we could take it down together..."
A flicker of agreement passed through Diras's eyes, but he quickly shook his head.
"Idiot, do you think we haven't made enough enemies today? Do you really want everyone to hate us? Damn it, if we actually succeeded, offending them wouldn't matter—they wouldn't dare retaliate.
But we've already failed. Do you understand what failure means right now?"
If we end up making enemies of everyone today, and that monster kills off people from the other factions, we'll be the ones blamed for it all, won't we?
Do you think you can withstand an assault from all those factions? Damn it, they'd tear down the entire Shadow Tower!
Stop coming up with stupid ideas. Go help take down that monster right now. At the very least, we can't afford to offend Dida La any further—we can't afford to cross him..."
Diras wanted to run, but he was too afraid. If he ran today, he'd have nowhere left to go...
Diras led the Shadow Tower mages to flank the monster. Shadows writhed across the ground like giant serpents, surging toward the beast.
Unfortunately, as those shadows rushed into the Sea of Flames, their power was instantly cut in half.
Holy light and fire naturally suppress shadow magic—the Shadow Tower's specialty. Where there's light and fire, shadows vanish. In a place like this, with endless flames and blinding brightness, there's no shadow for them to use.
Their spells lost power while their magical expenditure soared...
Diras glared at his subordinates, snarling viciously.
"Idiots! Can't you see it's all Sea of Flames here? Still trying to use shadow control—damn it, if that monster doesn't kill you, your stupidity will!
This is a mindless monster—do you get it? Shadow Whip Lash! Shadow Frenzy! Mental Chaos! Don't you all know how to use them?"
As he spoke, Diras raised his staff. Lights shimmered, forming a phantom skull at its tip. The skull let out a bizarre laugh, trailing a streak of black-gray light as it shot toward the blood-red monster.
The skull sank into the monster's blood-hued aura, triggering ripples and changes wherever it touched—suddenly, the beast seemed to lose control over its blood aura...
Seeing Shadow Frenzy work, all of Diras's mages raised their staffs, unleashing wave after wave of black-gray phantom skulls.
The barrage of skulls sank into the monster's flesh, making its blood aura surge wildly. After a hundred hits in just seconds, the beast's instinctive control over its blood aura was utterly scrambled.
Parts of the monster's body were no longer shielded by blood aura...
Diras's eyes flashed. He raised his staff and spat out a dozen translucent black-gray runes. Instantly, the runes turned into beams of dark light, striking the monster's body.
A dozen shadow-enhanced Mental Chaos spells hit in quick succession. Even the monster's vast magical reserves couldn't withstand it—especially since mind-targeting spells like these work ten or even dozens of times better on creatures without intelligence!
Phantom skulls orbited the monster's head as it rampaged, attacking everything nearby, no longer using its blood-red arm shield to block Dida La's fire spells...
Shadow Frenzy and Mental Chaos are basic spells for shadow mages—barely fourth-tier magic.
These two spells weren't meant for offense. They're mainly used to interrupt enemy spellcasting when a mage is chanting a powerful incantation.
Against intelligent beings, they're almost harmless. But for mindless beasts, their power multiplies tenfold—or even dozens of times.
Even low-level magical beasts have some basic instincts, and Sky Rank beasts have awakened intelligence, making them no different from humans...
Truly mindless creatures are almost nonexistent. When learning these spells, mages just practiced on some beasts, but the effect was usually just making them go berserk for a while...
If not for this sudden reminder, no one would have remembered these useless spells. After all, mage battles rarely involve long incantations—any spell needing more than two seconds to chant won't be used in a heated fight...
The monster, lost in Mental Chaos, was surrounded by hallucinations—countless enemies seemed to be attacking it. It lashed out frantically, unable to tell real from fake...
Seizing the moment, Dida La poured his magic into three Fire Orbs. A jet of dark green toxic fire sprayed out, covering the monster's body and quickly withering its fur.
Its flesh beneath the bristles was exposed. Dida La controlled the toxic flames to scorch the monster's skin, slowly burning holes into its surface.

Then, controlling the other two Fire Orbs, he unleashed Inferno Fire and Destruction Flame, both with extreme heat and destructive power. They crept through the tiny holes and burrowed into the monster's body.
Dida La drove the flames madly into the monster's body. After over ten seconds of wild attacks on the air, the beast finally collapsed, howling and shrieking in fury...
The Burning Tower mages unleashed powerful fire spells—Explosion and Spear of Vulcan were the most effective. Flames burst again and again, and the Spear of Vulcan kept piercing the monster's body...
Meanwhile, the Shadow Tower mages, led by Diras, relentlessly cast shadow spells to trap the monster in endless illusions, leaving it no chance to fight back...
Dozens of mages surrounded the nearly helpless beast, casting spells for over ten minutes before its struggles and screams finally ceased...
Hundreds of tiny holes in the monster's body erupted with tricolored flames. Its massive frame began turning to ash at lightning speed, the holes widening until everyone could see its insides had been burned away—only the endless three flames remained within...
With a bang, the monster's corpse exploded, the last remnants burned to ash. The escaping flames were swallowed up again by Dida La's three Fire Orbs.
The battle was over. The area for hundreds of meters was scorched black, and all that remained of the alchemical device were a few melted, broken fragments.
The Burning Tower's temporary camp was now completely destroyed...
Diras and the Shadow Tower mages hid at the back, avoiding contact with other factions. Only the Burning Tower sent a ninth-rank titled archmage to explain things to the others.
But the Odin Kingdom's people confronted Dida La—their own had been killed by the monster, so they naturally came to settle the score...
No one knew what was said, but after the Odin Kingdom members left, Dida La's face was so dark it was almost purple, his lips trembling.
"Damn it, that bastard—this is outright extortion! Just one guard dead, and they dare demand a drop of Beast God's Blood from me...
Damn bastard..."
Dida La kept his distance from the other factions, wanting nothing to do with them.
This time, dozens of Image Crystals were sent out to everyone—just to make sure the whole world was notified, and everyone could bear witness.
It was as much a show of strength as it was a warning...
If everyone saw them help a ninth-rank titled archmage achieve transcendence, the Burning Tower's status in the Odin Kingdom would soar to unimaginable heights.
If they keep producing Sky Rank powerhouses, these factions will have no choice but to submit, coming to beg for favor again and again...
But now, it had all become a huge joke.
The temporary camp was utterly destroyed. Seven mages were lost—five eighth-rank titled archmages and two ninth-rank titled archmages, all gone here...
And the secret of Beast God's Blood was leaked too—the Burning Tower is now the laughingstock of the world...
Dida La sulked in the back, while Diras didn't dare show his face either.
Morgan craned his neck searching for Diras, but couldn't spot him—he shook his head, disappointed.
What a shame. I thought Diras would come say something again. That idiot was so arrogant just now, practically announcing to everyone that they should bow to him...
Several ninth-rank titled archmages died here. Sure, they were old and hadn't improved in years, and their odds of breaking through to Sky Rank were slim.
But top-tier powerhouses nonetheless—such a loss is a real pity...
That idiot Diras—I only let him pay three hundred Pseudo Sky Rank Mana Crystals out of old friendship. Look at him now, not only lost a drop of Beast God's Blood, but also several powerful subordinates.
The loss is more than three hundred Pseudo Sky Rank Mana Crystals. Damn it, that shameless idiot might come looking for me next.
