You Still Dare to Come at a Time Like This

Princess Royal Helena of Lyndaria made her intentions clear by approaching Serena Feng so openly—she would not rest until she got what she wanted. Feng Jin was hers, no matter what Prince Nolan or Serena thought.

As Feng Jin’s birth mother, Princess Helena had every right to demand him back. But...

“Feng Jin must never be taken away by the Princess Royal,” Serena thought, her resolve only hardening after dealing with Helena face to face.

Left Shore was right—Princess Helena is not a good mother. If Feng Jin went with her, his life would be ruined. She had no real affection for him; to her, he was just a tool for power. He’d suffer even more than he had with Prince Nolan.

"Mm." Prince Nolan gave a quiet assent. Serena dropped the subject, knowing he was fully invested now. Unless both of them died, there was no way Princess Helena would ever take Feng Jin away.

After leaving Skyvault Fortress, Princess Helena was immediately swarmed by martial world figures offering to escort her up Skyvault Mountain. They all wanted to help.

It was obvious Princess Helena had no martial arts skills, and she didn’t seem to have any experts with her. On her own, it was nearly impossible to climb the mountain before dawn.

A few rough men seized the chance, hoping to cozy up to Princess Helena. They didn’t necessarily have any plans—just the instinctive reaction to a beautiful woman.

But Princess Helena turned down all their offers, saying she’d go rest first. As for climbing the mountain, she had her own way.

Many people were puzzled, but seeing her so self-assured, they guessed she must have some trick. So, they stopped pestering her.

Princess Helena hadn’t been back in her room long when a man slipped inside. Instantly, all the maids and guards withdrew.

The man was completely wrapped in black, hidden in the shadows—his face impossible to see.

When the man entered, Princess Helena was in the middle of undressing. She wasn’t startled at all; she just kept taking off her clothes, unconcerned about showing her body.

“You dare come at a time like this? Aren’t you afraid Prince Nolan will catch you?” Helena tossed her clothes at his face, teasing him.

“Afraid? Maybe. But dying under a peony is still romantic, especially with a beauty like you beside me.” The man joked back, clutching her clothes, inhaling deeply at the scent, and sighing in delight. “So fragrant.”

“Too bad Prince Nolan can’t enjoy such blessings.” Thinking of Nolan’s cold face, Princess Helena couldn’t help but gloat.

“No worries. I’ll enjoy them for him.” With that, the man swept Princess Helena into bed...

Ling Mo stayed hidden in the shadows, watching and listening. Even as the hour Prince Nolan had set for the mountain climb arrived, he still hadn’t heard a single useful word from the pair.

Spying and gathering intel really wasn’t his thing—Ling Mo was sure of it. He turned away in disgust, waited even longer until the man left, but still found nothing of value. Finally, he stopped forcing himself and slipped out quietly.

To prove he hadn’t slacked off, he planned to recount every word and move between Princess Helena and her lover to Prince Nolan and Serena later.

Something this ‘boring yet intimate’ was way too outrageous to keep to himself—it simply had to be shared with everyone.
