Battle at the New Plane Cavern

Chapter 1352

Hundreds of kilometers away, at the entrance of a massive cavern, a group of mages in varied robes stood at the threshold. For thousands of meters around them, the ground was scorched black. The corpses of bizarre creatures—hairless, with four wings and crocodile-like heads—were strewn nearby. Billowing black flames slowly spread, consuming the corpses and reducing one monster after another to ashes.

“Lord Maxwell, this plane is truly a blessing of fate. We stumbled upon it by chance, never expecting to find a world so paradise-like—limitless mana, boundless resources, and every plant brimming with magical energy. There are even two suns here.

Most importantly, the environment here is so exceptional, yet there are only some stupid, mindless magical beasts. It’s perfect. The fluctuations coming from inside this cavern suggest there are vast quantities of Mana Crystals—purer than any found in Northend.

A towering mage, wreathed in black smoke, with demonic horns sprouting from his head and a face partially twisted by demonic power, spoke with a tone of reverent awe, marveling at the superior environment.

In the center of the group, an old mage with a bald head and eyes gleaming like carved crystal stood silently, gazing at the cavern’s entrance. His brow was furrowed, as if he wasn’t nearly as optimistic.

The old mage said nothing. On the other side, a female mage shrouded in a haze of black-gray mist sneered and spoke up.

“Shelton, has your mind been corrupted by demonic power too? Every creature we’ve seen here is disgustingly inferior—their souls are broken, so degraded they’re like crawling insects. Isn’t it strange? Haven’t you noticed?”

There’s so much mana here, and one of the suns even radiates magical brilliance. Do you really think only low-level, stupid magical beasts exist in a place like this?”

Shelton, the mage with demonic horns, instantly flew into a rage. The black smoke swirling around his body surged violently, and his voice grew thick with killing intent.

"Sunny, I don't need you to remind me about something as important as discovering a new plane. How is it that only you from the Rose Circle showed up? Where’s that lunatic Amy? Honestly, you people don’t take Headquarters’ orders seriously at all. If it weren’t for their support, would the Rose Circle have ever gotten this far?"

Maxwell, the old mage standing in the center, coughed lightly to interrupt his subordinates’ argument.

“Enough. Stop arguing. There’s definitely something strange about this place—something’s seriously off. Even the weeds everywhere are infused with mana, and some can be used as low-grade magical herbs. Yet all we’ve seen are odd magical beasts that aren’t even that strong. It’s not normal at all.

And these bizarre magical beasts—their souls are all just as strange. They're as simple and fragile as lowly reptiles…

Hm, something else is approaching. And it’s powerful…"

Maxwell turned his head, his crystal-like eyes glinting as he gazed into the distant sky. Light flickered in his gaze, and after a dozen seconds, the others finally noticed several tiny black dots rapidly approaching from afar.

A dozen seconds later, everyone was surprised to see that the newcomers weren’t magical beasts from this plane—they were humans…

Leon spotted the massive cavern entrance from afar—spanning seven or eight kilometers—and the dozen mages standing at the entrance, every single one a Heavenly Mage. Not a single one below Heavenly Mage.

Leon’s gaze first landed on three people: a male mage with demonic horns, wreathed in black smoke and radiating a thick abyssal demon aura. No doubt about it—he’d transplanted some kind of abyssal demon bloodline, and those horns were transplanted too, which explained the drastic change in his appearance.

The second was a female mage, shrouded in a faint black-gray mist—her figure only a vague outline. She looked almost identical to Amy, the Rose Circle mage Leon had encountered before, making it clear she belonged to the Rose Circle.

Ever since advancing to Heavenly Mage and forcibly fusing all his bloodlines, Hubert’s bloodline had become unique—entirely his own. After his extraordinary transformation, his body was unimaginably strong. He was, quite literally, unkillable…

It was a force that didn’t seem strong at first, but its penetrating power was terrifying—trying to pierce Leon’s soul and lay everything bare.

With his fused bloodline, Hubert’s power was now top-tier—comparable to that of extraordinary beings. Heavenly Mage was just adulthood for him. The fusion of several dragon bloodlines granted him a powerful ability: he could grow stronger just by sleeping…

After sleeping so long in the semi-plane, absorbing its rich, pure mana, Hubert had already reached Heavenly Mage Level 2. He still couldn’t beat Pabbet, but Pabbet couldn’t destroy Hubert either. Even in a one-sided fight, Hubert’s body was indestructible.

With Archmage Leon Merlin here, Amy could already be in danger—she might have even fallen. He must have tracked the news about this plane…

And us—those five Ironclads outside. If they managed to get in here, then maybe…"

Sunny’s aura grew increasingly unstable, ominous energy swirling around her. Her voice dropped to a devil’s whisper, killing intent boiling into wisps of black-gray smoke, which condensed into miniature twisted faces that howled across her skin.

Shelton’s black smoke gathered around his body as he watched Leon and the others approach warily. It wasn’t because of the Shadow Tower grudge, nor did he care about Sunny’s words. He was hostile simply because he saw Leon in this plane.

A dozen Heavenly Mages—all radiating hostility—were already prepared for battle. But without Maxwell’s orders, none made a move.

The strange light in Maxwell’s crystal eyes faded, leaving them looking like ordinary crystal. His expression grew grim.

“No matter who they are, we can’t let anyone else discover this plane. It belongs to the Thorned Crown. With its support, our research will accelerate tremendously. The blue sun here is an enormous advantage for us.”

With Maxwell’s simple statement, everyone immediately understood.

Shelton’s body hunched slightly, and in an instant, he vanished from sight. Cracks split the earth where he’d stood, his robe torn to shreds. His height shot up from two meters to four and a half, a thick demonic aura surging as black smoke gathered, forming a pitch-black spear over five meters long in his hand.

Shelton charged forward, his body seeming to merge with the massive, smoke-shrouded spear.

Leon watched coldly as it all unfolded.

"Hubert."

With a single order, Hubert eagerly hefted Slaughter and charged forward. With a roar, his body swelled, eyes flashing blood-red. The air thickened with the stench of blood as Slaughter’s golden surface gleamed and grew larger.

The golden warhammer collided with the black spear, lightning crackling where they met. For a full second, the struggle held, until the center exploded with a thunderous blast, a ring of lightning spreading outward—Hubert and Shelton were both blasted away.

Hubert tumbled through the air dozens of times, black-gold lightning whipping across his body. His clothes were shredded, but not a single mark was left on his skin.

Ever since advancing to Heavenly Mage and forcibly fusing all his bloodlines, Hubert’s bloodline had become unique—entirely his own. After his extraordinary transformation, his body was unimaginably strong. He was, quite literally, unkillable…

The gravity arrays stacked on Slaughter had reached eighteen layers. Combined with Hubert’s own mastery of earth power, in battle Slaughter weighed hundreds of thousands of kilograms. With Hubert’s monstrous strength, every blow was like a mountain crashing down.

Leon wasn’t worried about Hubert losing to the bloodline-transplanted mage—he was certain Hubert couldn’t be killed…

Shelton and Hubert were blasted away at the same time. Hubert was completely unharmed, but Shelton’s body was covered in thin wounds. As blood flowed, it turned into black smoke, strengthening the demonic power around him. Within seconds, Shelton’s wounds had healed.

The clash was inconclusive—his opponent was unhurt, but Shelton himself was wounded. Instantly, Shelton was consumed by rage, black smoke surging from his body as his furious roar echoed through the air.

“Stupid orc! I’ll tear you apart—tear you to shreds…!”

Hubert and Shelton clashed fiercely in midair, while Sunny transformed into black-gray mist and rushed forward. Faint, indistinct whispers seemed to echo from all directions as Reina soared forward, her face expressionless.

Ice Crystal Law Sigils swirled around Reina, then shattered as a blue-white sphere of light erupted outward. In a second, it swept across everything within a thousand-meter radius centered on Reina. The black-gray mist was instantly frozen—air and mana alike turned to icy shards…

As the mist was frozen, Sunny's figure could no longer merge into the black-gray fog. A sheet of ice crystals shattered, and her body was forced to reappear, suspended in midair.

The shielding layer of ice crystals around Sunny’s body vanished, leaving her completely exposed. Her skin was an iron-blue shade, covered in ugly, vein-like markings—as if her blood had congealed in a corpse, with blood vessels laid bare. Her face resembled a zombie, the iron-blue skin stretched tight, her eyes glazed as if a film covered them, and her cheeks riddled with blue, hideous lines. She looked like a corpse that hadn’t yet decayed.

Her slender figure had lost all allure, her voice turning sharp—like a monster whispering temptation, but with none of its charm. She was a creature, pure and simple.

With her body exposed, Sunny let out a scream, equal parts terror and rage. Waves of sound rippled outward, as the powers of soul, death, and demonic misfortune erupted, shattering the ice crystals within several meters around her.

The black-gray mist reformed as a thin veil over her skin, but now Sunny seemed to have lost all reason. She screamed in fury like a banshee driven mad. Behind her, the power of death twisted into a vortex, unleashing a torrent of wailing specters that surged forth.

A swarm of shrieking specters howled and screamed as they rushed toward Reina. As a bloodline-transplanted warlock, Sunny had been lucky to succeed and gain great power, but the side effects had destroyed her appearance, turning her into a monster.

For a woman, that was utterly unacceptable. Unlike Shelton, who only cared about power—even if it meant transplanting demon horns and becoming half-demon—Sunny could not bear it.

Her monstrous face, fully exposed, and her body revealed for all to see—Sunny lost all reason, forgetting Leon entirely. Now, her only thought was to kill Reina…

Reina hovered coldly in midair, looking down at Sunny with a trace of disdain. Facing the surging tide of shrieking specters, she didn’t dodge at all—she charged straight in.

Layer after layer of blue halos spread out from Reina’s body. Every specter touched by her light was instantly frozen, then scattered without a trace.

Seeing that the tide of shrieking specters couldn’t get close, Sunny quickly changed tactics. She sent only a small portion to block Reina, gathering the rest at her side. When enough specters had gathered, Sunny began to chant in a devil’s low voice—eerie whispers echoing through the air from every direction.

The gathered specters, hearing those devilish whispers, responded like subjects to a king’s summons. In midair, they swirled around Sunny, forming an immense formation. All their power seemed to flow and converge together.

Sunny opened her mouth and let out a piercing scream. Instantly, every specter screamed in unison, their voices synchronizing with hers. A terrifying force gathered, like a giant bubble enveloping Sunny and her specters, growing larger and binding all their power within.

When Reina’s freezing halo swept across, the bubble shattered. The power trapped inside found an outlet, erupting as a colossal soul shockwave that hurtled toward Reina.

Faced with this assault, Reina finally stopped spreading her freezing aura. She let out a low roar, a blinding ice-blue light flashed across her body, and in an instant she transformed into a graceful silver-blue dragon over two hundred meters long. Her form was elegant, not as physically imposing as a typical dragon, but as Reina shifted into her true shape, a terrifying chill froze everything around her. The cold was as absolute as the darkest reaches of the void, where no light ever shines. Here, time itself seemed to slow to a crawl.

Confronted by the pure, overwhelming soul shockwave, Reina raised her dragon head slightly, power swirling in her throat. She opened her jaws wide and unleashed a deafening roar; in that moment, her terrifying dragon might crushed the shockwave with raw force.

With the ancient Venom Dragon’s empty-shell magic crystal fused into her, Reina’s very essence had evolved. She was now comparable to those terrifying dragon races whose adulthood meant transcendence. Her innate spell, Dragon’s Might, was unimaginably powerful.

The soul shockwaves released by Sunny surged like transparent waves, tearing through the sky, but Reina’s Dragon’s Might was pure soul magic, its pressure manifesting as a fearsome dragon-shaped phantom. With a roar, it tore through the shockwave, effortlessly shredding Sunny’s overwhelming soul attack.

The dragon phantom charged forward like a monstrous beast swimming upstream, ripping through the soul shockwave and heading straight for Sunny.

Sunny screamed in agony, her body flung backward as if struck head-on by a giant dragon. Dark green blood, tinged with crimson, splattered through the air. The shrieking specters rushed toward the dragon phantom, but each one exploded into fragments upon contact.

Low-level specters, pure soul entities, dared to confront Dragon’s Might head-on. Their only fate was to explode and dissipate—there could be no other outcome.

After a single strike, the dense cloud of specters in the sky was halved. The few remaining clustered protectively around Sunny, as blood dripped continuously from her body—her eyes, ears, nostrils, and mouth all oozing blood.
