Another Five Grand Banner Falls

12/19/2025

Blood mist exploded across Joe Di's body as he allowed the arcs of Lightning Tribulation to strike him. The Titan Body Technique churned wildly, and the Starspace Technique surged alongside it.

With only the first wave of Lightning Tribulation, Joe Di shattered the bottleneck of Grand Ether Immortal and his cultivation soared upward.

But at this moment, Joe Di sensed the absence of Immortal Spirit Veins around him, limiting his cultivation growth. Without hesitation, he seized several Grand Ether Pills and swallowed them.

Violent immortal essence and the potent shock of the immortal pills exploded within Joe Di's Stellar Meridian system. His Stellar Meridian now formed an almost virtual cosmos, with several star rivers running through it. The fierce medicinal properties of the pills had little effect on him.

For others, Grand Ether Pills were used to break through cultivation barriers during tribulation. For Joe Di, they simply replenished heaven and earth immortal energy.

The second wave of Lightning Tribulation also contained eighty-one arcs. Before the tribulation was even finished, Joe Di had already stepped into the first layer of Grand Ether Immortal.

Unfortunately, his body refinement had progressed very little. Once the flesh reached the late stage of Celestial Physique, further advancement became extremely difficult. Likewise, this kind of Lightning Tribulation could only tear his skin and flesh, but could not damage his bones or tendons.

In the distance, Aaron Jace was completely stunned by Joe Di's Lightning Tribulation.

He had witnessed many Lightning Tribulations, but never one like Joe Di's. Joe Di was enveloped in blood mist, yet still stood tall and faced the arcs of tribulation without a hint of wavering.

As the third wave of Lightning Tribulation was about to pass, Joe Di realized he could not break through the first layer of Grand Ether Immortal with just the tribulation. So he drew his Azure Veil Blade and struck at the arcs of lightning.

These arcs of Lightning Tribulation were terrifying for other cultivators, but for Joe Di, they were still a bit too weak.

Aaron Jace felt relieved when he saw Joe Di summon the Azure Veil Blade. Finally, he was using a treasure for defense. Big Brother really was poor—he only had a single lesser-grade immortal weapon, and it was an offensive one at that. To defend against Lightning Tribulation arcs, he should have used a defensive immortal weapon. Once Big Brother survived this tribulation, Aaron resolved to gift him a superior offensive immortal weapon.

But soon Aaron was dumbfounded. Joe Di wasn't defending at all. With a single slash, an azure radiance burst forth, nearly splitting the dense arcs of lightning in two.

Was Big Brother trying to commit suicide?

Aaron was shocked by his own absurd thought. His father had told him to keep a low profile during tribulation—block if you can, but never try to provoke the Lightning Tribulation arcs by any means, even in thought.

Some Lightning Tribulations are accompanied by Heart Demon Tribulations—even your thoughts can make the lightning more terrifying.

Now Big Brother was attacking the arcs directly with his blade. It was practically courting death.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Crack! Crack!

Aaron's guess was spot on—the arcs of lightning grew even stronger. Even from a distance, he could clearly sense the terrifying murderous intent within them.

What stunned Aaron even more was that Big Brother had drawn such terrifying Lightning Tribulation arcs and wasn't defending against them at all. Why was he acting so recklessly?

Joe Di wasn’t refusing to defend; he was genuinely delighted. After he intensified the Lightning Tribulation, a crack sounded in his Spiritual Sea—not an explosion, but an expansion. His Spiritual Sense jumped from Immortal Sense Level Four to Level Five.

Just as Joe Di’s Spiritual Sense broke through to Level Five, his Azure Veil Blade rang out with a clear cry. At the same moment, the blade advanced to a mid-grade immortal weapon.

Aaron Jace sensed the Azure Veil Blade in Joe Di’s hand had become a mid-grade immortal weapon. He finally understood its fearsome power. Even his father didn’t possess such a treasure—an artifact that could upgrade itself at will. He’d thought Big Brother was poor and planned to gift him a magical relic, but now he just felt embarrassed.

No wonder Big Brother always carried this blade on his back wherever he went. If he had such a flashy treasure, he’d do the same.

As for why Joe Di kept the Azure Veil Blade on his back, it was to absorb the essence of heaven and earth—a detail that never even crossed Aaron’s mind.

Because Joe Di was upgrading his Spiritual Sense and didn’t keep slashing with the Azure Veil Blade, the fourth wave of Lightning Tribulation arcs weakened. The force of the Lightning Tribulation in the void completely dissipated—Joe Di’s tribulation was over.

"Big Brother, what kind of Lightning Tribulation did you just go through?" As soon as Joe Di changed clothes and landed on the flying shuttle, Aaron hurried over to ask.

"Grand Ether Immortal Lightning Tribulation. My cultivation isn’t as high as yours," Joe Di replied with a smile.

He was in a great mood. The biggest gain from this trip was that the Ninth Prime Law had descended into his Spiritual Sea once more. Besides that, his cultivation had advanced by a major realm and his Cosmic Flame had upgraded by two levels.

Aaron glanced at Joe Di, who still appeared to be at early Celestial Lord stage, and curled his lip. Like he’d believe that! Now he finally understood—back at Fortune Resthaven, that Immortal King definitely wasn’t trapped and thrown out by Big Brother’s arraycraft. It must have been Big Brother’s overwhelming cultivation, sealing the opponent with a Yuan Qi Hand Seal and tossing him out.

"We’ve all gained a lot this time. Let’s go find that cosmic powerhouse’s sanctuary." Joe Di was in high spirits as he personally piloted the flying shuttle away from the area.

Joe Di’s Spiritual Sense was far superior to Aaron Jace’s. As he piloted the flying shuttle, its speed increased by another major tier, further convincing Aaron that he was right—Joe Di’s cultivation far exceeded his own, and he was likely an Immortal King.

If Blackfire were controlling the flying shuttle, it might have taken years. But Joe Di only needed three months to reach their destination.

"Big Brother, there’s nothing here." Aaron Jace looked at the empty void before them, puzzled.

According to the Ancient Tortoiseshell Map, this was indeed the location in the void. Yet there wasn’t even a single meteorite—just endless, ordinary void.

If Joe Di were an ordinary cultivator, he’d probably think there was nothing here—just endless, ordinary void.

But Joe Di was now an Eighth-Tier Arraymaster. Though his Spiritual Sense was still a bit weak, it was refined. After probing with his Spiritual Sense for a full incense stick’s time, he sensed something different.

There seemed to be a Void Array Gate here. Even after countless ages, the gate remained perfectly intact.

"There’s a hidden Void Array Gate here. Most Arraymasters wouldn’t notice it. Too bad I didn’t bring an Array Banner—otherwise, I could save a lot of time," Joe Di explained.
