Forgot to Take Her Medicine Again

The more Princess Mira thought about it, the prouder she became: "I truly have a gift for business! How did I never realize I was a commercial genius? Tsk tsk, as a direct royal princess, my noble blood makes me naturally clever—far beyond someone like Su Li, who comes from such a lowly background."

Lola hurried to flatter her, making Princess Mira feel on top of the world. The next morning, before dawn, she was already parked in her carriage at the front gate of the Prince of Qin’s estate.

Su Li and Alexander Hayes had just gotten up when Lola came in to report that Princess Mira was blocking the gate.

Su Li couldn’t help but laugh and cry: "What kind of stunt is Princess Mira pulling now?"

Lola shook her head and said, "Princess Mira seems to be holding an account book and is demanding that the princess come take a look."

"She wants me to look at her account book?" Su Li was even more baffled. Princess Mira’s mind must be overflowing like a raging river.

Lola nodded, "Yes, that’s exactly what she said."

Su Li curled her lips, thinking to herself that Princess Mira wasn’t just lovesick—she was probably crazy too.

But letting Princess Mira block the main gate forever wasn’t an option. Su Li could go to the academy through the side entrance, but Alexander Hayes had to use the main gate to enter and leave the estate.

If word got out that the mighty Prince of Qin, Alexander Hayes, was so intimidated by Princess Mira that he didn’t dare use his own front gate, where would his dignity go?

Besides, knowing Princess Mira as well as she did, Su Li figured that if the silly princess didn’t see her today, she’d just come back tomorrow. Better to deal with her now and see what kind of trouble she was up to.

So after breakfast, Su Li and Alexander Hayes headed to the main gate of the Prince of Qin’s estate together.

Princess Mira was sitting in her carriage, expecting only Su Li to show up. But when Alexander Hayes arrived too, her lovesickness flared up and she nearly threw herself at him, only to be stopped by Lola’s quick reflexes.

Su Li saw trouble brewing—she’d almost forgotten that Princess Mira lost her mind whenever she saw Alexander Hayes. She quickly had him retreat inside the gate.

With Alexander Hayes out of sight, Princess Mira finally regained some sanity and remembered why she was here in the first place.

"Su Li, look at this!" Princess Mira tossed the account book in her hand straight into Su Li’s arms.

Su Li snorted and flipped it open, only to find it was the income ledger for Suxin Bistro. She thought to herself, Princess Mira’s brain really was broken—who hands their account book to the competition? Was she trying to lose faster?

Seeing Su Li’s expression, Princess Mira became even more smug. "See, Su Li? Our Suxin Bistro is raking in money by the bucketful! We’ll soon surpass your Eight Treasures Bistro! If you know what’s good for you, close up shop and get lost. Otherwise, when my Suxin Bistro beats you into the ground, don’t blame me for showing no mercy."

Su Li burst out laughing, clutching her stomach to keep from laughing too hard. She tossed the account book back to Princess Mira and pulled an exaggerated face: "Oh wow, your Suxin Bistro is making so much money! I’m so jealous, so scared! What am I going to do if my Eight Treasures Bistro has to close down?"

Princess Mira didn’t notice Su Li was mocking her at all. Instead, she looked even more pleased. "Su Li, it’s good you know to be afraid! Hurry up and close your restaurant—do yourself a favor! When the time comes, I’ll show Prince Hayes that he married a pigheaded woman who can’t do business. Imperial merchant? Hmph! You’re not even worth a strand of my hair!"

Behind the gate, Alexander Hayes couldn’t help but laugh and cry: Princess Mira was terrifying—she’d forgotten to take her medicine again today…
