Cunning Fox

12/2/2025

Two ghosts, four eyes, stared intently at the two entangled figures on the bed. Their eyes widened, not even blinking, but their mouths kept chattering.

"Oh wow... The Crown Prince is actually passive, sigh..."

"Didn't you see he's injured?"

Mona Shangguan swallowed nervously, her voice trembling, "Brother Crown Prince... I'm scared..."

"It's alright... Be good... Trust me... It won't hurt much..."

The two little ghosts were waiting for the exciting part when suddenly the sound of footsteps echoed from afar.

"Footsteps! Footsteps!"

Unable to keep watching the adult drama, they hurriedly floated outside.

They peeked outside, then quickly floated back in, chattering non-stop.

"It's that old man! The Ghost King said if you see that old man bringing people, open the window! Hurry up!"

"Why are you so anxious? There's still some distance left, isn't there? We can't disturb those two idiots! Otherwise, when the Ghost King settles accounts, you'll be the one to blame!"

The window was quietly opened. Neither of the two on the bed noticed the approaching footsteps outside. Mona Shangguan couldn't sense it—she wasn't trained in martial arts—while Adrian Yarrow was consumed by desire, struggling with Mona to make her yield, not paying attention to anything outside.

A group approached the window. The path from Emperor Alexander's residence to here always passed by the window before reaching the door.

Damien Gray had already considered this. The reason he went to the trouble of leaving two little ghosts to open the window was to avoid anyone discovering the two sleeping together and causing unnecessary complications.

Everything inside was clearly visible to those outside. For a moment, everyone was stunned, unable to react.

Morgan Shangguan glanced at Damien Gray, smiled and shook her head. As expected, things went his way. She lifted the gourd lid and a breeze swept by, and the two little ghosts darted inside. The crowd snapped out of it, feeling a bit awkward.

Adrian Yarrow finally noticed the group outside the window and hurriedly pulled the quilt over to cover their bare bodies.

Mona Shangguan cried out, her face flushed crimson. She buried herself in Adrian Yarrow's arms, too embarrassed to face anyone. So many people had seen her being intimate with the Crown Prince—how could she show her face again? Though she bore the title of future Crown Princess, they weren't married yet, and now that her body had been seen by so many, would Adrian Yarrow despise her? The thought drained all color from her cheeks.

Adrian Yarrow looked grim, his eyes full of regret. He hadn't expected to succumb to temptation and do such a thing in broad daylight—especially while they were supposed to be bathing and fasting at the temple. It was a blow to his reputation, but he couldn't just kill everyone to keep it secret. More importantly, this ceremony was part of the Silvermoon Kingdom's national ritual, and his actions could be seen as disrespectful. Frustrated, he even blamed Mona Shangguan a little—after all, she had enticed him!

Suddenly remembering something, Adrian Yarrow quickly looked outside and saw Morgan Shangguan with her head lowered, not even glancing at him. He couldn't help feeling more depressed—if this ruined his plans, it would truly be a loss!

A cold smile flickered in Damien Gray's eyes. Hmph! Dare to use his woman? He would make sure Adrian Yarrow was ruined bit by bit, suffering both mentally and physically. Mona Shangguan would get a lesson in the process, too.

He glanced at Prince Ethan, barely perceptible. He wouldn't let him off, either. Some accounts he wasn't in a rush to settle—not that he wouldn't, but precisely to settle them better.

As for Liam Duanmu, at least he knew to give up. His surrender was its own kind of torment, so that could be set aside for now. But if he did anything Damien Gray didn't like, he would have only himself to blame.

Seeing the calculation in Damien Gray's eyes, Morgan Shangguan couldn't help but sigh. You could offend anyone, but never a cunning fox! Still...

A flash of amusement crossed her eyes. She actually wanted to spar with this fox!

In the awkward atmosphere, Emperor Alexander suddenly cleared his throat and said, "It seems the Crown Prince is fine, so I won't disturb you further!"

With that, he led a few people away. So be it—Adrian Yarrow certainly wouldn't pursue the assassination attempt any further!

Mona Shangguan finally lifted her head and looked at Adrian Yarrow, softly calling, "Brother Crown Prince..."

Adrian Yarrow frowned, "Go back and rest for now!" With that, he closed his eyes, needing to think. He couldn't let his plan be ruined just like this—he would have to be ready to implement Plan B.

Mona Shangguan bit her lip, feeling utterly wronged. She hadn't expected Emperor Alexander to suddenly arrive with people! Seeing Adrian Yarrow ignore her, she could only dress and return to her own room. The pain in her body made her feel even more aggrieved. Tears fell as she glanced back at Adrian Yarrow, wiped her eyes, and left the room.

A bitter smile tugged at her lips. She never expected her first time to be so miserable, and to be seen in such a sorry state by Morgan Shangguan!

She was truly unwilling! Morgan Shangguan must be gloating now, surely mocking her in her heart!

Suddenly, she stopped in her tracks. Morgan Shangguan? She was here too! How did Emperor Alexander happen to arrive at that moment? She remembered fainting outside last night—how did she end up on Adrian Yarrow's bed? Adrian Yarrow knew nothing, so it must have been Morgan Shangguan who put her there. It had to be Morgan Shangguan—she must have set her up!

Her heart filled with hatred—even the suffocating pain couldn't lessen her resentment!

She never considered how Morgan Shangguan could have known she wanted to give herself to Adrian Yarrow. If Morgan Shangguan could guess even that, how could she still be that timid, guilt-ridden girl who let Mona take revenge on her?

Because she already hated Morgan Shangguan, she didn't think about anything else and blamed it all on her.

In fact, Morgan Shangguan did know about it—but it was Damien Gray who orchestrated everything!
