The Babysitter Journey Begins

12/7/2025

Obviously, with shared memories, if one knows something, both know it. But now, bizarrely enough, we’ve entered a state of “one knows, the other forgets.” Sounds unbelievable? It is, but every unbelievable thing must have its own absolute reason. When all sorts of subtle causes get tangled together, you end up with something that seems impossible to understand.

When we’re sharing consciousness, neither of us can move—it's like we’re in a deep meditative trance. So, we can’t just mess around; we have to find a hidden, reliable spot first. Teamwork time! Together, we found the perfect place.

And that teamwork was pretty straightforward. First, Jack Young used his sound-based technique to locate a cleverly structured cliff, then The Queen smashed out a giant hole with one punch. The collapsed spot connected to cracks inside the rock wall, forming a deep, long, and super hidden hideout.

"Come on, come on, I refuse to believe it—if I’m here, how can you possibly forget?" The golden profile rises; two profiles draw close again. Whoosh! Golden light flares up, and Jack Young is instantly pulled into the depths of the Mental Sea.

Countless fragments of memory, like a raging torrent of consciousness, flow back and forth between the two. But in the midst of this torrent, Jack Young encounters something new—he’s directly dragged into a dream world.

Last time, it was Senior Brother who helped him sneak into the dream world. Having been here once, Jack Young now naturally knows how to get in, but usually, it takes calm focus and meditation. This time, though, he slips into this layer of consciousness as easily as breathing. The world is still frozen and desolate, the cold moon still hangs high—but Jack Young isn’t alone anymore. Another figure appears in this world at the same time.

It’s The Queen, with her platinum-blonde hair.

"Huh?" The Queen looks surprised and puzzled when she first appears, not sure where she is or why she’s here. But then an ice crystal falls from the sky into her hand—Jack Young’s shared memory. She instantly gets it: "So this is the depths of the consciousness world."

In this world of consciousness, Jill Young no longer squints her eyes all the time. Her big eyes open wide, breaking through some unknown limitation, and she temporarily gains complete self-awareness. Here in the dream, the twins are equals—coexisting and sharing everything.

"Nice scenery, gotta admit—‘no wonder it’s my own creation.’ But with everything frozen over, are you trying to be artsy, kid? You’re not getting any younger, so drop the indie hipster act!" Jill Young glances around and immediately sees through the world’s illusions.

Jack Young sighs helplessly: "Everything I know, you know too. You should understand, I’m not the one in charge of all this ice."

"No problem, I’m here! It’s just a layer of ice—let me melt it!" Jill Young waves her hand, and suddenly a ball of fire blazes in the air. Red-hot flames coil around her hand, shining with intense light and heat—honestly, it looks straight out of a fighting game.

"Wahaha, it’s just like being in the quantum network—no, even freer than that! Go, Little Serpent!" She tosses the fireball high into the sky, and with a boom, it explodes into an even bigger fireball. The frozen world finally gets some heat. Reaching toward the sky, The Queen instantly resonates with the blazing fire above: "Come on, bloom for me!"

Whoosh—countless sparks burst from the sky, raining down like fire. Jack Young stares at the streaming sparks and instantly realizes: these are memories shared from Jill Young’s side. The sparks land on mountains, trees, and grass, representing two sets of memories blending together. Flowers and plants in the distance start to thaw, and the once white world finally gets a splash of color.

"Huh?" Jack Young looks at himself in surprise. In this dream world, looking at yourself means seeing the core of your spirit. "Are the petals of my Crown Chakra still opening?"

"Of course! Faded, blurry, chaotic memories are getting sorted and put back where they belong, so your suppressed Insight Technique is naturally leveling up! Little bro, you really do need me, hahahaha!" Jill Young pats Jack Young on the shoulder, but in the next moment, both their faces change: "It’s burning through our mental energy?" "Time’s up already? I was just getting started!"

Whoosh—an endless mental vortex turns into a channel linking the conscious and subconscious. Jack Young feels himself crossing the blurry boundary of awareness, returning to his body. Linking up through the profiles already burned a ton of energy, but The Queen’s antics in the dream world sent that consumption skyrocketing. They didn’t even last a minute before their minds snapped back to reality.

"Still, this is actually a pretty good method. As long as we rest and resonate every so often, we can open more petals of the Crown Chakra. The more it opens, the stronger our mental power gets, and the longer we can stay linked. There’s no danger here, so it’s the safest, easiest, and cheapest way." After thinking it over for a while, Jack Young concludes that this is the perfect place for a breakthrough. If you treat The Queen as a kind of opportunity, well, you wouldn’t be wrong.

But.

"I’m hungry again." Jack Young opens his eyes, only to see the girl opposite him giving a pitiful look. Well, burning through all that mental energy naturally leads to a drop in intelligence—why didn’t I think of that before? Hahahaha… Why do I suddenly feel like crying…

Getting stronger never comes free—argh!

And so, Jack Young’s journey as a full-time babysitter officially begins. The mental energy drain during their link is just too much—like a taxi meter spinning out of control! Every time he tries to save up enough energy to at least keep Jill from going full gremlin mode, it’s hopeless. In the end, he’s stuck in the babysitter role long-term.

During all this, Jack Young discovers another weakness of the pure body cultivation style—energy supply.

Jack Young never lacked for food before—he’s never gone hungry, so he never really noticed. But now, dumped into a new world with nothing but hunting to fill his belly, he finds that plain old meat just can’t keep up with the daily energy needs of Dragon Elephant-level strength. The harder you work, the more you gotta eat—no way around it. Of course, Jack’s body control is freakishly good, so wasted energy is kept to a minimum. But if he wants to keep training the Titan Spirit Method, that’s another story.

Unless he finds a ton of fierce beasts.

But tough times call for creative solutions. Suddenly, Jack Young has a bright idea: "Maybe I can borrow a trick from the Censored Dragon Elephant Wisdom Art—supporting the body with internal energy."

Mutation isn’t always a bad thing. In terms of pure physical strength, the censored version can’t compare to the real deal. Grandmaster Gold spent a lifetime reaching ten layers; The Queen is at Tier 8 Dragon Elephant now. The numbers are lower on this side, but if it came down to bare-knuckle brawling, The Queen could yank the old man’s beard right off. Still, that doesn’t mean the Censored Dragon Elephant Wisdom Art is useless.

Sure enough, with Jack Young’s wild imagination, he stumbles across something amazing.

It’s a groundbreaking idea.

Physical strength is real, mental strength is abstract, and internal energy sits in between—both real and abstract, both material and spiritual. That’s why true masters have strong bodies and sharp minds. Daoists focus less on the body and more on the spirit, cultivating both yin and yang spirits, hence the saying ‘refine qi to transform the spirit.’ In the frigid lands of Esoteric Buddhism, there’s no way to get enough meat to train the Titan Spirit Method. Even if there’s enough quantity, the quality won’t cut it. So those high lamas came up with a ‘low-carbon, eco-friendly, budget-friendly version’—a truly groundbreaking new energy source.

With both twins present, when The Queen’s intelligence is high, they brainstorm new martial arts theories together. Don’t assume that shared memories mean shared ideas! For example, faced with a security door, Jack Young would figure out how to pick the lock—precise and technical. The Queen would just rip the door off—simple, brutal, and efficient. When they put their heads together, they really do come up with some wild new approaches.

As the only one who can stay rational for long, Jack Young starts organizing his thoughts.

"Outside there’s Heaven, Earth, and Humanity; inside, there are the Three Treasures: essence, qi, and spirit. The so-called ‘three flowers gather at the crown’—true strength means all three advancing together. When all three bloom, that’s when you reach the extraordinary. Think about it: Titan Spirit Method boosts the body and life essence; Insight Technique strengthens the mind and willpower. Refining essence into qi and qi into spirit is the positive conversion method. The other world’s ‘refine spirit into qi’ is a reverse conversion. The censored version’s new idea is basically ‘refining qi back into essence.’ Put them all together, and you’ve got every method for both positive and reverse conversion."

"If you step back and look at the big picture, being able to convert in both directions—essence, qi, and spirit all transforming into each other—means you’ve built a complete system. Only by linking all three can you achieve true balance and perfection, and defend against all sorts of physical and mental attacks. Looking back, aside from a certain overpowered maniac, the Titan Spirit Method is supposed to awaken regeneration from the fifth layer on, strengthening the body from the outside in and unlocking your life potential. Insight Technique also hits a breakthrough at the fifth layer, moving beyond the senses and into the brain—real qualitative change."

"So, reasoning it out, to meet the energy needs of Dragon Elephant-level strength, you’d need at least Innate Power. In other words—" Jack Young looks across and sighs, "I still have to keep being the babysitter."

"Enough with the rambling! Quit whining, I’ve just got one question for you!"

"What?"

"When are we starting Dual Cultivation?"

"Huh???"
