In less than half a minute, the three of them had risen to the surface. Shawn Young looked up at the sky and saw a perfectly round moon hanging overhead—except this moon glowed with a blood-red light, with not a single star in sight.
Moonlight Valley was shrouded in dust. All the other buildings had been destroyed by the earthquake, leaving only the towering Grand Obsidian Pagoda standing in the vast plaza. The giant, mysterious pagoda, bathed in the crimson glow of the blood moon, shimmered with a strange aura in the night, making the scene look especially eerie and menacing.
"Ah! There's someone on top of the tower!" Jade Swann, sharp-eyed as ever, spotted something unusual from afar.
Shawn Young was startled and quickly looked up. Sure enough, he saw a figure standing at the tip of the Grand Obsidian Pagoda. He activated his Heavenly Eye Technique, scanning the pagoda's tip until he finally saw clearly—it was Daniel Feathercloud!
Daniel Feathercloud was dressed in a black-and-red onmyoji (Japanese sorcerer) robe, his hair wild and loose. His hands were folded, his mouth chanting spells at lightning speed, and his face was twisted and ferocious. His eyes glowed with a crazed, demonic red light!
"Whoosh..." Fiona Nangong's body suddenly burst out with a surge of red and black light. She gracefully ascended, drifting toward the Grand Obsidian Pagoda...
"Ah! Sister Fiona... what's happening to her..." Jade Swann's pretty face turned pale with fright.
"Whoosh..." As soon as Jade finished speaking, Fiona Nangong had already vanished into the Grand Obsidian Pagoda.
In an instant, the Grand Obsidian Pagoda erupted with a dazzling burst of red and black light, flashing out in all directions.
Shawn Young and Jade Swann quickly shut their eyes. When they opened them again, a strong stench of blood filled the air. What they saw next stunned them: the ruins were littered with corpses! Some wore onmyoji (Japanese sorcerer) robes, some were dressed in ancient Japanese samurai armor, and others were masked ninjas in black.
