Sacred Yin Pearl

12/19/2025

Beside the flying shuttle lay a withered skeleton. Joe Di didn’t even need to guess—he knew this must be the artifact refiner who forged the shuttle.

He could only wonder what had happened at the Starfire Trading Post back then. Everyone had perished, leaving behind only bones, rings, and the shop itself.

Joe Di was overjoyed. Though he already possessed a top-grade flying immortal artifact, the defense of the Cloudspire Spear was nothing special. Among all top-grade flying artifacts, its rank was rather low. This shuttle, forged from Yanlight Divine Iron, was clearly of a much higher class.

Even among top-grade flying immortal artifacts, there are distinctions between high and low quality.

Just as Joe Di was about to collect the shuttle forged from Yanlight Divine Iron, he suddenly sensed something was amiss.

This place was sealed by restrictions, and the artifact refiner had died here. Logically, there should have been flames present—how else could one refine artifacts without fire?

But the absence of flames wasn’t the strangest thing. The strangest part was that Joe Di was the first to enter the Starfire Trading Post and the first to reach this artifact shop. By all rights, no one outside should know about the Yanlight Divine Iron here.

In fact, it was only because Yanlight Divine Iron had appeared on Shadowfire Isle that he came here.

Before Joe Di could send out his spiritual sense, a voice echoed from all directions, "Not bad, young man. You’re quite alert."

Joe Di swiftly swept out his divine sense. Even with his eighth-level immortal sense, he couldn’t locate the source of the voice.

"Do you know why the Starfire Trading Post ended up like this?" After a long silence, Eugene Yu suddenly asked.

A faint shadow appeared within an underground array pattern a few meters from the shuttle—clearly a remnant soul. Joe Di calculated that if he tried to take the shuttle, this remnant soul could attempt possession in an instant.

Spark Island? Isn’t it called Shadowfire Isle?

Eugene Yu looked calmly at Joe Di. "If you agree to help me, I’ll tell you where the most precious treasure on Shadowfire Isle is hidden."

"Impressive. Your cultivation isn’t high, but you’re not only an eighth-level immortal array master with Dao Eyes—you even possess eighth-level immortal flame. No, that must be Dao Fire..." The remnant soul grew ever more astonished, his voice echoing with a spectral awe.

Joe Di locked onto the remnant soul and said coolly, "You wanted to possess me?"

The remnant soul sighed. "I never intended to possess anyone. I’ve lingered here, barely surviving, just hoping someone would come help me. Who could have guessed I’d be waiting tens of thousands of years..."

Claiming he never intended to possess anyone was a lie. Had Joe Di arrived ten thousand years earlier, the remnant soul wouldn’t have hesitated to possess him. But now, even if Joe Di offered himself, the remnant soul wouldn’t try—he knew he was about to dissipate forever.

Joe Di was getting impatient. He didn’t have time for this—he needed to search for treasures quickly. With so few people at the Starfire Trading Post now, if he didn’t hurry, he’d miss his chance. As for the so-called most precious treasure, his Dao Fire had advanced to ninth-level immortal flame, and he’d acquired so much Yanlight Divine Iron—he was satisfied.

"Young man, those things were mine, you know. Even if I’m dying, I’m not dead yet, am I?" The remnant soul’s voice carried a faint chill, displeased to see Joe Di collecting everything without even asking.

Joe Di awkwardly put away the array flags that had trapped the remnant soul. "These things might be yours, or they might not be. But whether they are or not, I’ll help you out. You said you were waiting for someone to help you."

"My name is Yu Qi. I have a daughter, Yu Xiaoxiao..." The remnant soul replied without hesitation upon hearing Joe Di’s offer.

"Is that Yu Xiaoxiao, the Palace Lord of the Artifact Hall?" Joe Di exclaimed in surprise.

He knew of this woman—Xie Huang had told him. She was a slaughtering demon, having annihilated more than a dozen sects, leaving no survivors. She’d even slain several Immortal Emperors before vanishing without a trace.

Joe Di nodded. "I’ve heard a little. Does Shadowfire Isle really have a Sacred Yin Pearl?"

In fact, Joe Di was already starting to believe it. Ever since entering Shadowfire Isle, he’d sensed an extremely cold yin aura.

"That’s right. This place was originally called Spark Island, not Shadowfire Isle. The Starfire Trading Post ended up like this all because of that Sacred Yin Pearl. I won’t go into details, but if you help me, I’ll tell you where it is. If you obtain the Sacred Yin Pearl, even a billion Starfire Trading Posts wouldn’t compare to its value."

Yu Qi trembled upon hearing Joe Di’s words, looking as if he might fall apart at any moment. After a long pause, he sighed deeply. "My poor Xiaoxiao..."

Joe Di thought to himself, Yu Xiaoxiao had killed so many people—even if she perished, she’d gotten what she deserved. He hardly thought of her as pitiful.

"Well, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving now." Joe Di saw that his Dao Fire had advanced to ninth-level immortal flame and was delighted. As he spoke, he stretched out his hand, and the Starry Sky fell into his palm and vanished.

"Do you know why Spark Market ended up like this?" After a long silence, Eugene Yu suddenly asked.

Joe Di shook his head. "I don’t know, and I don’t want to know. It has nothing to do with me."

Seriously, events from hundreds of thousands of years ago had no bearing on his cultivation. Why should he care?

Eugene Yu looked calmly at Joe Di. "If you agree to help me, I’ll tell you where the most precious treasure on Spark Island is hidden."

Spark Island? Isn’t it called Yin Fire Island?

Though he wondered about it, Joe Di still said, "It’s not that I don’t want to help. You know I simply can’t. Your daughter has been missing for who knows how many years—how could I possibly help?"

This time, Eugene Yu wasn’t agitated. He softened his tone as much as he could. "You managed to find this place, and after all this time, no one else has come. That shows you’re clever. From your arraycraft and your flame, I can see that as long as you survive, you’ll become a true powerhouse one day..."

Joe Di was getting impatient. He didn’t have time for this—he needed to search for treasures quickly. With so few people at Spark Market now, if he didn’t hurry, he’d miss his chance. As for the so-called most precious treasure, his Dao Fire had advanced to ninth-level immortal flame, and he’d acquired so much Yanlight Divine Iron—he was satisfied.

Eugene Yu continued, "I know you’re getting impatient, but do you know this island holds a Sacred Yin Pearl? You might not know what a Sacred Yin Pearl is..."

"Sacred Yin Pearl?" Joe Di exclaimed in surprise. He actually knew of it—the Book of Worlds had an explanation. Though the book described the Divine Yin Pearl, Joe Di figured the Sacred Yin Pearl must be similar.

Legend had it that this pearl was formed when chaotic yin energy fused with the laws of a world, containing endless chaotic power. According to the Book of Worlds, the Divine Yin Pearl could manifest worlds; for cultivators of the yin attribute, it could even create a world rivaling the Chaos Realm. Its rank surpassed the Immortal Realm and was far beyond the True Spirit World.

If the Sacred Yin Pearl was truly the same as the Divine Yin Pearl, then it was a priceless treasure.

"You know about the Sacred Yin Pearl?" Eugene Yu was surprised by Joe Di’s reaction—few people should know of it.

Joe Di nodded. "I’ve heard a little. Does Yin Fire Island really have a Sacred Yin Pearl?"

In fact, Joe Di was already starting to believe it. Ever since entering Yin Fire Island, he’d sensed an extremely cold yin aura.

"That’s right. This place was originally called Spark Island, not Yin Fire Island. Spark Market ended up like this all because of that Sacred Yin Pearl. I won’t go into details, but if you help me, I’ll tell you where it is. If you obtain the Sacred Yin Pearl, even a billion Spark Markets wouldn’t compare to its value."

If it truly was a Sacred Yin Pearl, Joe Di was willing to take the risk. "Tell me—what do you want me to do?"

Eugene Yu heard Joe Di’s change in tone and quickly said, "I have a flame called Kindling—it’s Dao Fire. After I fall, I want you to deliver this Dao Fire to my daughter, Charlotte Yu. If you can’t find her, then give it to her descendants. Of course, if my Yu family truly has no descendants, you may keep the Dao Fire as you wish."

Joe Di hadn’t expected Eugene Yu to have condensed a Dao Fire just like him. He felt a deep respect—he knew all too well how difficult it was to refine Dao Fire.

When Eugene Yu’s Dao Fire was passed on to direct descendants of the Yu family, its rank would only drop by one level and could be upgraded again, with its power unchanged. But if someone else obtained it, the Dao Fire would become ordinary flame, never able to advance again. Even so, it was still extremely valuable.

Suddenly, Joe Di understood why there was a vein of Starry Sky Fire Essence here—it had been left by Eugene Yu for his descendants, but Joe Di had used it to advance his own Starry Sky.

Joe Di felt a bit embarrassed. "Alright, I agree to this. If I find good materials for upgrading the flame in the future, I’ll pass them to your descendants. If not, well, I can’t promise that part."

Eugene Yu was very satisfied with Joe Di’s reply. "I’m lucky—you seem to be a man of your word. I have another title: the Divine Artificer. Maybe you didn’t know, but I’ve gained some insights into artifact refining. I’ll pass those on to you. If my descendants ever face trouble, I hope you’ll help them..."

As he spoke his final word, Eugene Yu’s remnant soul burst into ripples. Joe Di’s Dao Eyes saw it clearly—Eugene Yu’s soul vanished. A flame the size of a dragon’s eye floated in midair, with two jade slips beneath it.

Joe Di silently marveled at Eugene Yu’s strength. He hadn’t even waited for a reply before turning into flame, clearly knowing Joe Di’s nature.

Boom! Just as Joe Di was about to collect the flame, violent tremors shook the ground beneath his feet. He instantly realized—the others had found the place.

(That’s all for today’s update. Good night, friends!)
