Although I feel a bit sorry for the Flame Emperor, I plan to let Rachel Lan rest well for a few days before we set out again. Besides, John Chou needs some time to prepare as well.
I kept running the barbecue shop, after all, I still remember what Boss Li hoped for before he was taken away—he didn't want the shop to close. That's why I asked John Chou to help look after it when I left.
For three days straight, business was booming. Although I taught John Chou how to make the dipping sauce and how to grill, he couldn't match my flavor just yet. Many regular customers lined up, hoping for a meal.
Even though I told Rachel Lan to go home and rest, she only took one day off before coming back to the shop.
"It's fine, Ethan Zhang. This is much easier than being in the forest."
After the last table of customers left, I tidied up and started grilling more food, planning to wait for John Chou. Isabelle Frost's condition was uncertain; we didn't know if she was conscious. She was breathing evenly, but although John Chou had asked her some questions, I'd never seen Isabelle Frost adjust her breathing. Maybe she couldn't even do that anymore.
I set out a table full of dishes and good wine. Tonight, Redmond and Yuna Ji would also be coming over.
After a while, I saw two figures on the street—it was Redmond and Yuna Ji. They had arrived.
"Why isn't John Chou here yet?"
Redmond sat down right away, and Yuna Ji already had her chopsticks and started eating.
"I think Basil Bertram might have remembered something."
At that moment, Yuna Ji spoke up, and Redmond chuckled.
"Maybe. It has nothing to do with us. If he likes to indulge in those father-daughter games, it's not our place to comment. But The Unreal Covenant is interesting; I want to go and see it for myself."
After a brief discussion, the sound of a wheelchair came from outside—John Chou had arrived, pushing Isabelle Frost.
"What took you so long, John Chou?"
Once inside, Rachel Lan helped move Isabelle Frost behind the cashier's counter. We started eating and drinking. After a while, John Chou sighed.
"It's rare to see you sigh,"
Yuna Ji giggled and said.
"My ghostly energy still hasn't recovered. When the time comes, I'll have to trouble you all to carry me and my sister over."
John Chou said this, and both Redmond and Yuna Ji were utterly surprised.
