Genesis City

Joe Di spoke without the slightest hesitation, "I'm telling the truth—there's no mistake."

Joe Di was confident—not only because of his personal experience and judgment, but also due to the comparison of other cultivators' strengths across the universe, and the rules he sensed from the vast chaos. With so much information, he could make his judgment.

"Brother Di, we're in. Just tell us what to do—how should we cooperate?" Even Ray Lawson, who rarely spoke, was breathing heavily. The Genesis Realm was a dream for every cultivator.

The four of them didn't need to say anything more—their eyes already showed unconditional support for Joe Di's plan.

Joe Di was overjoyed. Doing this alone would not only be difficult, but would also take much longer.

"Here's my idea. First, we need to find the core of the Guardian Array in this part of the Chaotic Continent. Then I'll destroy the array core, letting the Chaos Essence flow throughout the universe..."

Before Joe Di could finish, Woody Kee—an expert in arrays—suddenly realized, "Brother Di, you're searching for Genesis Loam to refine Genesis Loam Array Flags, then looking for the array base? If that's the case, it's a bit wasteful."

"That's right. I know it's wasteful, but I don't have a better way. Only Genesis Loam Array Flags can help us find the array base in the shortest time," Joe Di said helplessly.

If there were another way, could he really use Genesis Loam to make array flags? It would be great to give some Genesis Loam to the Sacred Tree and save some for emergencies.

"Haha..." Woody Kee laughed heartily. "Brother Di, now that you've met me, you can save a piece of Genesis Loam. I suspect the array core is in Genesis City..."

"Genesis City?" Joe Di repeated in confusion. "There's actually a cultivator city here?"

Benjamin Edge and the others laughed. "Of course there's a cultivator city, but only Genesis City. And it's different from other cities—Genesis City has no walls. Woody Kee's guess is probably right: the chaos essence in Genesis City is the densest in the whole Chaotic Continent. If the Guardian Array core of this part of the continent needed a place, it would definitely be Genesis City."

"Then let's head to Genesis City first. If we can't find the array core, we'll try something else," Joe Di said decisively.

Going to Genesis City would likely mean encountering Quinn Yan, but after guessing that Quinn Yan hadn't reached the Genesis Realm, Joe Di wasn't too worried about him anymore.

"Alright, let's head for Genesis City now," Quinn Yan immediately agreed with Joe Di's plan.

"If we find the array core in Genesis City and destroy it, what should we do next?" Cameron Yan asked.

That was an important consideration. How many third-step powerhouses were there in the entire Chaotic Continent? No matter how strong Joe Di was, if he provoked such a region, he would be torn to shreds.

Joe Di said, "Once we reach Genesis City, we should first locate the array core. But we can't destroy it right away—we need to find a way out first. I still have to locate the Chaos Gate, otherwise we won't be able to leave."

Benjamin Edge laughed, "You asked the right person—I know where the Chaos Gate is. I'll mark its position for you in the void."

"Good, that's the plan. First, find the array core in Genesis City, then we'll join forces to break it. Once the array core is destroyed, the Guardian Array of this part of the Chaotic Continent will automatically crack. Then we can leave from anywhere—once we're out of this region, we'll head for the Chaos Gate." Woody Kee laughed heartily, genuinely delighted.

Fortunately, Benjamin Edge knew Joe Di—otherwise, he wouldn't even understand why he was trapped in the Boundary Fusion Realm.

Joe Di frowned at Woody Kee's words. Ever since he'd resolved to break open the Chaos Gate and release the chaos essence, he'd felt a sense of unease.

He didn't know where this unease came from, but now Woody Kee's words made it all clear.

If he shattered the Chaos Gate, the rules of the Five Elements Universe would merge and its level would immediately rise. But the cultivators of this region would also merge into the greater Five Elements Universe.

There was nothing wrong with these cultivators merging into the Five Elements Universe—the key was, what was the strength level of the Outer Realm of the Five Elements? Almost no third-step powerhouses; if there were any, they'd just stepped in, and their Dao resonance was extremely weak. Compared to here, where third-step and even Boundary Fusion experts were everywhere, cultivators in the outer realm were like weaklings.

The Outer Realm of the Five Elements had countless beautiful divine lands, mountains, and rivers...

What would happen once these people got out?

Joe Di didn’t dare think further, because it would surely mean rivers of blood—countless cultivators would lose their lives because he’d lifted this demonic lid.

Don’t be fooled by how he slew four Boundary Fusion experts with six strikes, forcing the master of Cedarwood Manor to surrender and pay compensation. Those six strikes were his strongest divine art, formed by the fusion of his own rules into a spacetime divine technique.

The other cultivators in the Outer Realm of the Five Elements didn’t have his kind of power. Facing the cultivators here, they’d be doomed. The only reason these local cultivators lacked battle experience was because of isolation—once set loose to slaughter, things would only get more terrifying. Saying he’d lifted a demonic lid and released countless demons was putting it mildly.

"Brother Di, is something bothering you?" Woody Kee was very attentive to Joe Di now—he noticed Joe Di's frown immediately.

Joe Di sighed, "The cultivators of the Outer Realm of the Five Elements are all very weak. If I release the people here, who knows whether it will be a blessing or a disaster."

Everyone fell silent. To Benjamin Edge and the other three, Joe Di's worry was hardly worth mentioning. Cultivators naturally followed survival of the fittest—if you died, you died. Was someone supposed to be their babysitter? But they couldn't say that aloud; if they did, they'd offend Joe Di.

Their friendship with Joe Di had just begun, so naturally they didn’t want to create any barriers between them.

"I agree with Brother Di. If he weren't this kind of person, he wouldn't be our friend. It's precisely because of his kindness that he's become our friend," Ray Lawson suddenly said.

Benjamin Edge and the others immediately understood what Ray Lawson meant. If Joe Di could truly ignore others’ lives and deaths, Benjamin Edge would have been killed by Quinn Yan long ago. And if Benjamin Edge were dead, they wouldn’t be friends now.

Benjamin Edge felt a pang of guilt. They all hoped others would be kind and considerate toward them, but never thought they should consider others too. That was probably the biggest difference between them and Joe Di.

"Daoist Di, you’re the strongest here, and the plan was yours to begin with. Just tell us what to do—we’ll follow your lead." Benjamin Edge was straightforward and decisive. After understanding why Joe Di saved him, his tone was firm and certain.

The others cupped their fists to Joe Di as well, clearly taking him as their leader.

Hearing Ray Lawson's words, Joe Di felt deeply ashamed. He truly worried that the cultivators here would go on a killing spree if released—after all, he felt much closer to those outside. More importantly, his wife, children, and friends were all in the Outer Realm of the Five Elements. If these people were let in, who knew if one day they'd come for him?

Joe Di cupped his fists. "Brothers, let's head to Genesis City first. If we don’t find the array core, everything else is just empty talk."

...

Genesis City truly was a cultivator city without walls, because its boundary was a great river.

Arriving outside Genesis City, Joe Di couldn’t help but marvel at how much his horizons had expanded.

Beyond the encircling river, another stream ran along the main road outside Genesis City, flowing into the array-protected city itself. On both sides of the city, there were rows of shops and taverns.

Actually, this wasn’t unusual—there were countless grander cultivator cities outside. But if you counted both the encircling river and the one running through the city, Joe Di doubted any other city could compare to Genesis City.

Because both rivers were made entirely of top-grade Sacred Essence—it was insane. Even crazier, the Sacred Essence could be taken at will. What left Joe Di speechless was that no one used containers to collect it; here, the cultivators seemed to treat the river water as the most ordinary thing.
