Volume Summary

12/7/2025

Good evening, Twin Fans! Welcome to the live broadcast of the fourth volume summary of "Extraordinary Twins," brought to you by Max Life.

This volume was pretty shameless—lots of absences, lots of delays, lots of missed updates. Honestly, I’m kind of embarrassed myself. I quit my job and somehow my updates got even less regular than before. Sweating here! But even with this unreliable author, you Twin Fans still stuck with me, especially during the monthly ticket battle when we hit results I never even dreamed of. I was truly moved! (Especially since I was in a verbal fencing match with my parents during the ticket war, seeing the rankings was seriously touching~~)

No excuses for my unreliable updates—let’s get real. In my showdown with my parents, Maxie scored, uh, a temporary win! Here’s the deal: my mom is as fierce as Queen Su, and my dad’s as chill as Old Yang the Teacher. Neither of them approves of me writing novels, not even as a side gig. Negotiations? You can imagine how tough that was.

Thanks to all the Twin Fans’ strong support, we finally reached a compromise. They let me keep writing, but the catch is—I have to pass the civil service exam (I used to swear I’d never be a civil servant…). After this deal, they won’t argue with me as much as they did in September. I agreed, but secretly, I’m still plotting. There’s still some time before the exam, so if I can do even better during this period, maybe I’ll convince them both.

So, from now on, I’m done with staying up late. Early to bed, early to rise, write on schedule, update on schedule, and get back to being a decent human. (If the backend on Dian Niang glitches and delays updates, that’s out of my hands—lately it’s been bugging a lot, just ask Secret Destroyer Qiniang~)

Now, let’s talk about this volume.

This volume is called "You and Me, Heart to Heart, Twin Souls Together." It’s the first time the twins teamed up—well, technically it’s Queen Yang leading the way and summoning Max Life’s copy for a side quest. On one hand, the transformation fans can rest easy: no more switching back and forth, guys are guys, dudes are dudes. On the other hand, even though it’s set in another world on paper, the real theme is here on Earth.

Chaos is coming, and everyone needs to find their place. The confused first-generation Chosen Ones face all kinds of internal and external issues. Some go wild, some stay innocent and curious, some cozy up to power, some fish in troubled waters for their own gain. Pure adventurers are rare. But where there’s existence, there’s a scene—no outsiders, no innocents.

Some readers have said, "Don’t write so much about real life, or you’ll get a knock on your door." Honestly, it’s impossible for "Extraordinary Twins" not to touch on reality—that’s been the main storyline since day one. It’s a tough path and definitely not mainstream, but I want to try and show a complete, rich, real world—one wide open after the soul tunnel.

If I can pull off these epic scenes—mehahahaha! By then, don’t call me Maxie, call me Lord Max Life!

Of course, if I flop… please just forget I ever said that…

Next up, we’re heading into the Martial Arts World. Lots of Twin Fans have said it—just dragons and elephants, or prajna, aren’t enough and feel too thin. Hmph, I expected that! This martial arts world has been in the works since February, and it’ll be the longest arc so far.

This martial arts world won’t be wrapped up in one volume—it’ll be split into several arcs. Still borrowing from classic settings, and while the works might be familiar, there won’t be any direct plot copying. If you spot something, well, that’s because—*ahem*—I did it on purpose!

Basically, it’s a world with lots of creative freedom—don’t sweat the original works or the historical details. Stuff like, “Sunflowers only came to China in the late Ming, so the Sunflower Manual must be from the Ming dynasty, so Linghu Chong is a Qing dynasty guy!”—just toss that aside. If it’s too weird to accept, just imagine it’s a parallel fantasy world.

Next arc, the spotlight’s on Yang Qi. Sober Yang Qi hasn’t shown up in ages—time for the ladies to cheer!
