Battle of the Hosts

1/18/2026

After enduring nine full waves of beast attacks, the Human Immortal Battle finally came to an end.

On Ian Song's side, although Rachel Xuan was a strong commander, the ninth wave saw the beast numbers exceed ten thousand, with dozens of Golden Immortal beasts mixed in. Eight of his people died, and the rest were all wounded to varying degrees.

Inside the Divine Temple, deaths could be reversed, but here, fallen comrades were gone for good. Seeing their dead friends, Rachel and the others couldn't help but show their grief.

"The Human Immortal Battle is over!"

A vast voice rang out, and all the Human Immortals were transported back to the platform.

Ian’s side lost eight, but one Host had it even worse—his entire team was wiped out. Another fared slightly better, with just one survivor.

Ethan Ye lost eighteen, Mona Meng lost twenty-five, and among the alliance, some lost as many as fifty. Only Victor Xuanyuan stood out—he lost just seven.

"The above four thousand participants each earn ten points!"

The vast voice announced the results. Then, four thousand names appeared in the air, with Ian Song ranked first.

One Host asked why their subordinates hadn’t used talismans.

The survivors explained that after entering the small world, all memories of possessing talismans were erased—they simply couldn’t remember having any.

It seemed the controllers of the Immortal Kingdom War wouldn’t allow anything outside the rules.

For the Human Immortal Battle, talismans that could instantly kill Golden Immortals or higher were considered outside the rules and were thus suppressed.

"Congratulations, Brother Song!"

After checking the list, Ethan Ye smiled and congratulated Ian Song.

"Congratulations to you too, Brother Ye!"

Ian quickly replied. On his side, all one hundred earned ten points each, while the Hosts who didn’t place looked rather grim.

Some Hosts, violent by nature, even killed their returning Human Immortals in a rage.

But just then—

That vast voice sounded again: "The first round of the Human Immortal Battle is over. Host Shawn Liu and Host Mark Lin’s entire Human Immortal teams have been wiped out. Both are eliminated, all memories and cultivation erased, and their Systems stripped!"

Suddenly, a pillar of light shot down from the heavens, enveloping both Hosts in its glare.

"No! Please—just give me one more chance!"

"Don't erase my memories! Don't take away my cultivation!"

Both screamed in agony—especially Mark Lin, who had just butchered his own Human Immortal followers out of rage. Now, regret crushed him; if he'd known this was the price, he never would have slaughtered them in a fit of fury.

But it was all too late.

Moments later, the pillar of light faded away.

Both Hosts were stripped of everything—reduced to ordinary mortals, their memories wiped clean. With a flash of light, they were teleported out of sight.

Watching this, the other Hosts felt a bone-deep chill—a cold dread, and the bitter sympathy of survivors.

"This feeling—having everything controlled by some unseen power—it’s unbearable!"

Ian Song silently clenched his fist—the thrill of victory vanished in an instant.

He swore to himself: he would grow strong enough to break free from the System’s grip—no matter what it took.

The grand voice rang out again: "The Second Trial—the Earth Immortal Battle—now begins. Rules: all Earth Immortals will be teleported into a formation. If you fail to escape within one hour, you lose the trial. Begin!"

As soon as the voice fell, every Host’s Earth Immortal followers vanished—teleported away to their trials.

Ian Song felt relatively calm. Inside the Divine Temple, he'd trained his people not just in combat, but in breaking arrays, laying formations, and mastering restrictions—both setting and unraveling them.

Just like before.

All the Earth Immortals were teleported into separate formations.

But what truly unnerved many Hosts was the sight outside each formation: five hundred Golden Immortal-level beasts stood guard. The moment you broke through, you’d face all five hundred at once.

The stronger the enemy, the tougher it was to kill across realms—especially when you were outnumbered several times over.

Soon enough, Ian Song’s Earth Immortals broke out of their formation.

But when they saw the five hundred Golden Immortal beasts waiting outside, not a hint of fear crossed their faces. Instantly, they formed a battle formation and charged in, slaughtering their way forward.
